    Thank you! Refreshingly concise and professional instructions for the best looking rib I have seen achieved on a knitting machine.

    I followed you instructions and it was a success on my first try. I have tried a few way to start the ribber and your instructions are the best. I love you work and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

    I ALWAYS start any ribbing with waste yarn and a row of ravel cord. The edges are neat, clean and less of the "Y" effect.

    Hi Elena,
    I love your videos very much, I do have a question. Why do you do the ribber lever back to I before the 3 circulair rows on 1x1 rib and when doing 2x2 rib you do the lever to I after the 3 circulair rows?
    Thank you

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you so much!
      you have great attention to detail 😊
      It really depends on the yarn and how the machine feels when knitting those rows if that makes sense. I wouldn't say there is a rule that can be applied to all types of ribbing and should always be followed. You need to test and see, ideally those first rows should be the tightest possible and if the yarn allows to keep the lever to (II) if not change to (I) so the tension is a little bit looser.
      Hope this helps 🤗

    Why do you do 3 rows of circular? Is it for aesthetic purposes or just out of pure habit?
    I've been taught to always do my first row from left to right, so I have to do only 2 circulars.
    Lovely video, really important to know your ribs.

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is how I learned, most people I worked with do it like that as well. I guess it is up to you how you prefer, but I think 3 rows is the usual 🤗🤗
      Thank you! that is soo true!!

    Great video! I'm curious as to why the main bed sts are dropped?

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not entirely sure but I think it’s so that the waste yarn can be removed easily. 🤔😊

  • @sampooley4248

    Whenever I knit in rib, my stitches on the ribber bed don't seem to knit all the way? Even when I put the outer ones in D position, I have the appropriate weights attached, I'm not sure why it always messes up and drops stitches?

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say that the tension might be too tight if that happens 🤔

    I tried this now a couple of times with no succsess :( Drop the stitches on the main bed?? I do not understand. Does this mean there are no stitches o the main bed or the ribber? Needles look all empty

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh nooo:( sorry to hear that you are struggling :( that means that there will be stitches on ribber bed only, make sure that the ribber bed carriage is set to not knit and drop the stitches on main bed. Let me know how it goes 🤗

  • @Bitsanddoings

    Can you show how to do these for a single bed machine like the lk150

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can only do these with a ribber, to do such ribs on a single bed, any type, you must unravel and manually reform stitches. hope this helps 😊

  • @jhmayo
    @jhmayo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Elena; what do you do about transferring the 2x1 upto the main bed after you finish ribbing?

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      just transfer all the stitches on main bed as normally, some needles will have 2 stitches on them so a good idea is to pull the needles all the way out before knitting rows to make it easier 😊

      @@Knitology1x1 Thanks for the great video. At 0:13 you show part of the removal of the waste yarn but you don't completely remove it. Do you just pull it out of the ribbing after that? Or will the bottom row of ribbing start to unravel if you just pull the waste yarn out?
