I was never around transmission line towers. But, I have installed at least 300 Cell Towers. I actually lived to retire. It was an awesome job. Especially for a retired military guy. Certainly kept me in shape. I love your videos.
I am glad to see that the industry finally went to hex bolts/nuts. I hated to do backbolting work in my day . we had square nuts with square lock nuts, that had to be torqued with a spud wrench!!! Lots of busted knuckles. $7.25 per Hour!!! Great Video
I would take the external helicopter lift over tower assembly. Glad to see the static discharge line for the helicopter load. Way too risky, but very cool video.
I’m a distribution lineman. Not a transmission lineman. Teachers in school told me that to be a well rounded student? I needed to take a variety of classes that I would need to be successful in life? I argued with my teachers that I wouldn’t need to know Math or English classes all through school? Guess what? I was right. I have yet to need any of those lessons as a lineman. What a lineman needs is guts & determination. That’s what they need to teach in school rather than useless crap I never needed in life.
I was voted least likely to suceed in high school. My electric wiring instructor wrote in my yearbook: “Get buzzy, watch your head, good luck you’ll need it!” My history teacher wrote: “Stay close to our mutual friends-Jack, Southern, Jose Cuervo, ect.” If only my teachers were alive today to see what I have become 40 years later. I’m willing to wager that I’ve become more successful than most of my classmates.
Great work. I was wondering why some bolts have no washers and others have 2? Will the be left that way or will it be changed after the tower is erected?
that is correct. when the tower is standing, a second metal plate is added. And is screwed correctly. that is correct. when the tower is standing, a second metal plate is added. I logged and ran a family ranch in Montana for most of my working life, and these men make me feel like a child. Great stuff, you guys.

Incredible!! 👏
I worked derricks on a drilling rig back in the 70s . I had to go to the crown a few times that was high enough for me.
Awesome thanks respect to a great crew.
Super excellent work 😊

THE HELICOPTER PILOT IS THE BEST

If it wasn't for people like these types of guys who are risking their lives so that the public will have electricity. Millions of people would die.
Sehr gute Arbeit. Aber wäre es in der heutigen Zeit nicht Sinnvol, ein einhängebaren Akkuschrauber dabei zu haben?
Wir benutzen auch Akkuschrauber.
Aber für die Arbeit hat mir auch eine Ratsche gelangt.
