    In the case you get a bad reading, you should always squeeze the end of the crocodile clips to get truer reading on the cable.

    Hi young Sean, them porcelain insulators with the well rusted flat head screws can be a nightmare to remove, don't be too surprised about the quality of the work we old sods did back in prehistoric times matey, don't forget we didn't have all the fancy testers you have today so we just had to get it right first time, as for the maths lesson you are absolutely correct, also very well explained. Keep up the excellent work Sean. Very best regards from Ray the old sod from North Wales.

    Neato trick dude. Thanks for that. Great video. Totally looked like a 4mm compared to the cables for the RFC's. Do you treat your ply back boards with a fire proofing solution?

    • @Cablesmith
      @Cablesmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yea I think it was 4mm, when I surveyed it tho I put it down as 2.5 but obviously didn’t look close enough.
      No I don’t but I keep the CU fire sealed.

    Nice board job Sean but less "waffle" 😆😆😆 joking aside whoever fitted that old wylex 804 standard fuse board or consumer unit 🙄 did make a tidy job except with them old fuse boards wylex used to say put the heaviest load nearest the main switch first so cooker, ring, immersion heater and so on..... the guy that fitted this can't of read the instructions because he put the lightest load first next to the main switch lights doorbell etc up to the heaviest 😆😆

    • @Cablesmith
      @Cablesmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that’s nice to know mate, we try and do that as standard but never knew it was actually in the instructions back then 👌🏼 good to know

    • @adierob1
      @adierob1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think back then the live busbar was only rated at 60 amp but we didn't have 9.6kw showers and a house full of ipads and the latest wide screen tv 😆 but you wire up a tidy board. I was at one on a new build housing estate that has only been up 3 month and it must of been a 4pm job as when I took the cover off it was like opening a can of Aldi spaghetti * other brands are available* hah ha.
