Agreed and disappointed that they didn't do more for beck and paige cause it could have been so much better with them in love and emotional it could have been to along with Flynn and Alan 1 yori and Lora prime in it

Agreed I have a theory on what happened tho right so in legacy Quorra said a couple of programs saved her life right? I believe it was actually Mara and Zed. Ok ok maybe I should start from the beginning at the end of season one we see Clu flying into the city, and let's assume season 2 happened right what would happen, I believe Clu would put in a big form of martial law and a lot of crazy stuff would go down, the place on lockdown and this new resistance starts fighting against them but they have to do it in secret because stuff is crazy. And bunch of crazy shit happens along the way including Dyson, Tesler and Pavel getting derezzed, two of them probably by Clu himself, Tesler because he got in the way and started a power struggle, and Dyson because he was terrified of Tron and wanted to defect, at some point Paige finds out Beck is the renegade causing more tension between the two, then the other main characters find out and after some anger argue whether or not they can trust him anymore. At some point Tron is given an ultimatum to either protect Beck and turn into Rinzler, or save himself and let him get derezzed, Tron will choose to save Beck and turn himself over to Clu, forcing the main characters to go underground and at some point Quorra shows up and eventually sorts out all the bad blood with Paige and from then we get three outcomes going from amazing to absolutely heartbreaking in all three the renegade and Paige are separated from Mara and Zed so they can save Quorra and help her escape 1 Clu sends Pavel to take out the renegade, while Mara and Zed help Quorra get out of the city because they're less known that the renegade, renegade and Paige take out Pavel and Quorra escapes and everyone gets with everyone their supposed to and they all live happily ever after 2. Same as the last except one the teams die 3. Clu sends Rinzler after the renegade leading to the renegades demise, and sends Pavel to take to take out Quorra he manages to take out Mara and Zed but Qourra gets away. I hate to say it but the third one is most likely but I really really want to hope for option one because Beck and Paige is the single best relationship ever and you can't change my mind about that, but anyways I'm super pissed they never got a second season so that's just what I think happened next

@@adriannaranjo4397 To be fair a lot of fans including myself was actively trying, TRYING, to watch the show as it was airing but Disney XD was practically sabotaging the show by moving the schedule every week that it became incredibly hard to know when new episodes were coming out, when they were airing them and what time it was on because they stopped advertising it. Didn't help that they stopped airing episodes weekly, to biweekly to whenever the hell they felt like it. It's such a crying shame.
J.J. Abrams didn't direct Legacy -- it was Joseph Kosinski.

His life was built on a lie.
I think he simply misread or misunderstood some information as he is learning about the lore and continuity of the franchise as a whole. He likely mistook a portion of the write up explaining Legacy’s plot as if it was explaining the series as a whole. Mistaking Abrams as the director was likely a situation where he saw the director’s name flash on screen but wasn’t actually paying much attention and just assumed it said JJ.
JJ isn’t really a great director anyway.
Uprising did so much- I mean SO MUCH, for the franchise. The world building that took place in one season was incredible compared to what Legacy offered. To me, Uprising was the first step that would've guided the franchise to become a powerhouse today. It breaks my heart to see how Disney treated something that changed my life as a kid

Can't have fans spending their money on Tron when they needed to see their dollars go to Star Wars in order to justify the enormous investment Disney made there. How well did that work out...
18:10 A little hindsight on why "people weren't interested" in Uprising: it is the belief of myself and many others online that Disney was insistent on this show being marketed to a demographic that it ultimately shouldn't have been focused on. Being on DisneyXD, the show was SUPPOSED to be aimed for the young 8-12 year old demographic, but its mature story, visual presentation, and concepts actually did better with older audiences. Unfortunately, however, Disney refused to alter their marketing approach to appeal to the proper audience, and instead shifted the new show to later night time slot (expecting a show on a premium cable channel at a MIDNIGHT time slot to do well with 10 year olds is insane) which made it harder for people to catch. Mid-season in the series, they randomly put the show on hiatus, barely advertising the show at all at this point, only to bring the remaining episodes back without much fanfare at continuing bad time slots.
To add more insult to injury, no merchandise was ever made aside from a soundtrack and a junior novel, so no chance for fans to support the series that way either. There isn't even a physical copy of the series to buy.
So TL;DR, thanks to Disney's pisspoor management and marketing, they screwed the series when it actually could've done quite well with an older demographic and some semblance of merch.
Very well said. This makes me think that Disney should've had it's own adult oriented channel, like how Turner, the company that owns Cartoon Network, has Adult Swim. Tron: Uprising was just catered to the wrong audience imo. But apparently Disney has too much of a kid-friendly agenda to make things more "adult."
@@davisharper6704 Funny you mention adult swim... here's something you may find interesting: a year or so ago, before Disney+ had launched and Uprising was put there, I had actually asked Jason Demarco, the program manager for toonami/adult swim, whether he'd ever tried to acquire Uprising, since animated shows for older audiences did well under his watch... And he surprised me by telling me he had actually tried to make that happen back when Uprising was cancelled, but Disney said no.
It's too bad too, since toonami actually had a good history of funding/bringing back projects, maybe Uprising could've been one of those. 😕

The shortened, incomplete run of Tron : Uprising was an absolute crime. That show was _brilliant_ , and I want more. I’m going to have to rewatch those 19 episodes, again.
This and Motorcity were the most slickest and stylistic cartoon Disney has ever distributed (mainly thanks to Robert Valley) , it's a damn shame that the company would just can them like that .

I remember I saw this on Disney XD, and wow! The animation looks super nice,like,almost virtualize,and yeah motor city was also cool as well,and I can’t believe those 2 masterpieces got canceled,*sigh!*, I really dislike when good action cartoons get canceled,

Honestly, Disney is doing all these revivals of shows, I don’t know why they’re not reviving shows that they canceled but have developed passionate fanbases since. Other streaming services should be doing that too frankly.

I'll never forget watching Uprising's last episode and there was this tiny red piece of corruption in Tron's code and I was squeaking in excitement because I wanted more. There was so much potential, and so many ways it could go, but hen it got canceled. Biggest disappointment ever

If you watched Star Wars Resistance, you'll see that they are basically the same show
Not advertising a show is also a good way to kill it. I only found Uprising do to a friend wanting me to see Motorcity. Then moving it to midnight after hiatus with out advertising did not help. Then merchandise I wanted Uprising things, but all there is is the soundtrack, and that came out after the show ended. The first ep is now on D+ it was on youtube, and Itunes free when it was not.

The crazy part is when they started re-uploading clips of the show earlier this year, most of them got great views, likes, and comments.
I still wish I bought an Identity Disk when legacy came out. I also hate that the show got put in the midnight death slot.

@@3xpc8libur it feels like what Disney wanted to do was kill it off because the movie didn't take off like they wanted, but the show was high quality so they would air it when the fewest number of views could see it in order smother the flames per say before it could grow beyond whatever plans they originally had for it if the movie would have done better. This was before they had the MCU and Star Wars fully in their clutches to mold and milk.

You, Negative Legend, were actually the one who got me to watch the entire Tron series, including Uprising. Thank you, seriously, for introducing me to this spectacular show. I just finished watching it on Disney + a few weeks ago. :)
Have you had the opportunity to play both Tron: Evolution (either on PC, Xbox360, or PS3) as well as TRON 2.0 on PC (however the Xbox (the first Xbox) version TRON 2.0 Killer App is the console equivalent)?? Both are awesome games. The visual styles of both are amazing. Like the original’82 film, TRON 2.0’s visuals still look great today simply because the art style transcends the graphical limitations of the time and actually would only need better character faces/models to be considered “remastered”

Thank you SO MUCH for covering TRON: Uprising. It was by far my favourite cartoon (non-anime), and it really feels like Disney gave it a huge budget, but no chance to succeed. Motorcity also got the same treatment (please cover that one too).
The uncanny valley effect in Tron: Legacy actually works better than if the CGI was totally photo realistic. It is a computer generated world, after all. I really liked Tron: uprising, and I wish I could find the entire series somewhere. The things it expanded on beyond the movie were fascinating, and its art style was fantastic.
I wouldn't go that far. Every other program looks like a real person except for Clu, so he stands out. I appreciate what they were trying to do but better than a real actor? I don't think so. It was a good attempt that comes up a little short. But everything else is great.

One of the storyboarders on the show had mentioned that the last episode originally was supposed to be TWO episodes. There's an storyboard animatic floating around somewhere with a deleted scene where Clu meets up with Tesler and punishes him for his failures up to that point. From what I understand, it still would've ended on the cliffhanger of Clu's forces vs. all the Rebels, but it wouldn't have been as rushed.
I’ve been searching for someone who gives this series justice, and now it just drops in my recommendations?

I think this is the only show I’ve watched that I was actually upset it was canceled. Everything else I was somewhat satisfied with the ending, but here? Nope, still upset.
I'm so glad to see that many years later, there's a dedicated fanbase for this series. There's so many unfinished plot points that it drives me insane. Why would they just dump a masterpiece like this? It was ambitious, experimental, explored many different themes, and most importantly of all, was engaging throughout all of it while having a more mature theme! It's not fair that the mistakes of the parent corporation have to be given as burdens to innocent shows and killed off because of it. But look, many years later this show has a bigger following than ever before! Unfortunately, I bet if we asked now, Disney would just find a way to screw it up, but could they at least just give us one movie to tie everything up? Like Serenity did for Firefly years after its cancellation? Just bridge the gap between this show and the beginning of Tron: Legacy, please.

Quick thing: J.J. Abrams didn't actually have anything to do with the movie. I was thinking of the Star Trek interviews and there's interviews comparing directors who reboot franchises and I mixed J.J. Abrams and Joseph Kosinski.
Also, the game and movie came out the same year. The movie wasn't technically based on the game. There were people who played the game first and then watched the movie which lead to reports of people thinking that one was based off the other and vice versa.

In my country Tron Uprising and Motorcity where never run on Disney XD, but Motorcity was available on the Disney wbsite until 2016 then it just passed away and no one ever knew it even existed... so Tron Uprising.

This show was wonderful. It’s my all time favourite cartoons Disney has ever produced. It deserves more credit than it’s gotten and its awesome animation, stylization of the TRON world and it’s overall story and feel still make me giddy with excitement, as well as the feeling of untold misery for its unjust cancellation.

This show will always have a very special place in my heart, because it was one of my best friends shows, and he sadly passed away in a car accident, and so I watched it after in his honour and ended up loving it too.

I honestly enjoyed my time in Tron Evolution. Learning to be a security program from Tron and canonically being called Anon was delightful. The combat was about as you would expect it to be for a Tron game. A lot of flipping and ID throwing. It felt good, though some of the platforming was janky at times. I don't know I've always loved the concept of Tron. Like peeking into a world of digital beings gets my imagination sparking.

Wait, there are Tron levels in Kingdom Hearts 2? I started playing that game last month but kind of lost interest because the beginning was soooo slow. Looks like I know what I'll be doing here in the near future.
@@octalicious It's not called TRON, though, sadly. The game calls it Space Paranoids, and yes, the OG Tron dude is there, as it follows that story.
Whereas in a later KH game, Dream Drop Distance, the Tron world is titled The Grid, and seems to pick up sometime after Legacy, due to it featuring Rinzler and Clue.
The show is was so damn good unfortunately I watched it much later in life, but still.
The story, the characters, the art - never seen something so unique - and likely music (is has been awhile) were so damn good!

I just came across Tron Uprising in late December, and I’m hooked. The show is underrated. Too bad they did not make more episodes.

OMG Plz do Motorcity!! I was wondering what had happened to them. I have heard that they didn't get a toy license. I have also heard that the budget was getting really high. TBH IDK
I am too tired at the moment to make a long, properly written comment, but for what it's worth:
I watched the original Tron when I was a kid, and promptly forgot it. I was too young.
I later experienced the game Tron 2.0, and was enthralled. The world building was incredible to me, and the experience continues to stick with me today.
I hated Tron Legacy. I honestly believe this is because of my familiarity with Tron 2.0, which was far less philosophical and had already accomplished the intriguing world design.
I rediscovered the original Tron, loved it, and opened up a bit more to Legacy. I still don't like it, but I at least understand why it went in the direction it did.
I loved Tron Uprising. It still didn't have the world building I was looking for, but it made up for that with its strong character development.
I have little hope for a third Tron movie. Disney in general has been getting worse with each release, and I doubt they'll give the franchise the world building it deserves. I'd love to see continuations of Uprising and 2.0, but I'd rather it be by someone who isn't Disney.
Now this, this is hitting close to home, I know the film by heart and that soundtrack, oh the soundtrack is BEAUTIFUL

This movie... Lol I watched this when I was 8 years old, and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with it. It just hurts my heart knowing that it just didn’t get a lot of love from a lot of people. This movie, story line, idea is really incredible. It deserved so much more! But hey, at least there are still some fans out there ;)

Tron: Legacy is my favorite movie too! I’ve never owned an identity disc, but I do have this really cool Lego version of the iconic lightcycle race with Rinzler.
God this, slugterra, motorcity, and a slew of others were some of the best shows to watch on disney xd. This was literally my childhood.

Dude I remember watching this show and loving it. I wished I lived there so badly. It was so dang cool and really tickled my techie love for all things high-tech and futuristic.

I adore this show and I adore Tron Legacy. I really, really hope Disney decides to continue this series on Disney+ and hopefully we do see that sequel to Tron Legacy. Also I'm sure you're aware but LEGO Ideas released a Tron Legacy set that was very popular and sold really well. It's honestly one of my favorite sets LEGO has ever produced.
Sucks that this show got replaced by show’s like avengers assemble. I wouldn’t have a problem with that show if the animation didn’t look so cheap looking.

2nd place: I loved the movie and the esthetic. I have little toy that came into a "kinder surprise" and I saw the trailer of TRON: UPRISING in my dvd... I was crazy. I can't belive it. I can't see it for a long time until netflix put it in their catalog, and watched the whole serie. When it finished... everything changed in my life. From that they until now, TRON has become in my perfect visual reference for everything Cyberpunk I do.

i remember being really disappointed by the movie.... i loved the trailer, the music, how it looked and all... but nothing beyond the aesthetic really grabbed me. the characters were boring, the plot gave me nothing to invest on.
and then i saw the trailer for this show. god, i loved the look of it. i thought it was amazing, something i had never seen before... but the movie left me so disappointed that i didnt really give the show a chance (also, i was watching less tv and spending more time on the internet, so theres that). now, looking at it, knowing the plot, im interested again.

AAAAAAAAH, you're opening up some old wounds! As someone who's a HUGE Tron fan from the 80's, I LOVED the second movie, and this cartoon was, indeed, AMAZING! They really opened up and expanded the world of Tron in a way that a movie wouldn't really be able to.
I always wish for Tron uprising and Motorcity to come back.
When asked about my favorite Disney movie, it's Tron. Tron: Legacy is #2. (Rocketeer is #3.) The Daft Punk soundtrack is my favorite movie soundtrack. I only got to see the cartoon once. Pretty cool, Aeon Flux vibe to it.
As for sex, in the novelization of Tron, there is a scene (presumably from the original screenplay) where Tron and Yori have some intimate alone time, but it isn't overly explained.
The Tron and Yori scene that I believe you're talking about was actually filmed and is a deleted scene from the original movie, on the DVD and Blu-Ray. They go to Yori's apartment or something.
One of my favorite shows. It was so cool . An interesting and unique world that built upon the films but also had its own original stories.The style seemed weird but it fits. It was interesting having beck be the main character and seeing things from a new perspective
I actually really liked both the film and the show, hell I had the freaking tie in game. I honestly don't think the original film holds up that well, but maybe that's just because I didn't grow up with it. Tron Legacy and Uprising are some of my favorite pieces of media. The concepts alone are so masterfully done.
The original's focus on digital religion and its skewed view on the Hero's Journey (Flynn doesn't even know he was saving the world) made it a classic and one of my all time favorite movies.

There is actually a deleted scene in the original Tron with Tron and the girl do some kind of tech seductive thing with sexual undertones which is probably why they removed it. But in a way it does show that the programs can be attracted to each other I guess lol.
