A bandmate of mine has this pedal and although I like the Sound the problem is that the Springs get triggerd by the kickdrum, Bass or just stomping around on stage while playing live, so you have random noises at some points. You should consider this before buying.
I've been watching a few demos but this is my favorite! I'd be going straight through this to an amp, no other pedals, and it's the first demo to show that without other gear, so much appreciated. Then you played Baja by The Astronauts and I heard that sound and HOOO-WHEEE. And that guitar? This is a winner.
I heard that if you play this pedal in a band setting it’ll trigger the springs quite a bit because of the vibrations that everyone else is making with their instruments. so if you’re interested in this pedal, just be mindful of that
Love the sustain & the "wet" sound on this one! I just bought the Keeley Memphis Sun, Digitek Trio+, and the Vox Tonelab LE. So I'm still having fun, but I'm thinking on getting this one to.
Hey, I've got one of these in my suitcase of forgotten pedals! Usually things go in there never to be seen again (wah, chorus, flangers, etc.) but this is getting dug out.
Only bad side to real springs is sometimes the bass or kick drum can make the springs vibrate while playing live so it has to be placed on top of your amp
Maybe this is why mine sold so quick! I already miss it, but I just wasn't using it enough to take up that much room on my board. If you do the surf stuff, or like sort of lo-fi slightly trashy sounding (in a good way I think) spring reverb that was in some old amps this pedal is probably the only one that does it convincingly. I've seen cool mods for them where you can add a few knobs and control the delay chip that's inside them (presumably to add to max decay length with the short springs and give it that slight slap-backyness) to make it a reverb/delay. That'd be really cool.
This video is great, so I decided to buy this pedal from Sweetwater. I'm able to get this exact tone and even compared it to my Fender Concert tube-driven reverb and it's close, but not as good. The issue I'm having and you can hear it in this video is the feedback. It makes this pedal useless on a stage or even in a practice setting with a band. It just howls like an archtop guitar feeding back. If this pedal was discontinued then brought back why didn't they address the feedback issue? It makes the pedal a low volume bedroom amp or an effect you'd use while recording direct. Just be warned since it's something I hardly read about when I watched every video and review I could before buying the pedal.
To anyone who owns one: Do you think it would stand some low tuning, fuzzy stoner sound or would the loud and low sound make the springs vibrate all the timeand make it too noisy? Thanks
i got one off ebay for like 90 bucks. the pad he kicks is basically useless tho, and if your gonna put it on a board its gonna take up half your space. it is kitchy tho
danny nelson Probably something bright and nasty, like a Fuzzrite or a Tonebender, or any clone of the either. They have enough mids to stand out in a mix and can similarly be really saturated and raw. I'm a Tonebender guy, but I'd look into both.
kyle ciarrocchi Spring king is not very drippy verb, you need very bright guitar with snappy attack and pick hard at very close to bridge or you could try delay with it.
I use this pedal since years for at home playing. Love it at home, playig through a 1966 VibroChamp! Together with band it sucks imo. ...and, why ruining the design of the guitar with the ugly clip tuner??? Kick it! :)
If someone opened you up and saw all your loose wires and how cheaply built you look inside...doesn't feel very nice when it's reversed back at you, now does it?
Dam! This one kick ass video! I just ordered one of those yesterday from Reverb. That is one kick ass Jazzmaster. What year is it? Are those the orignal pickups? Are those replacement p[ickups?
Turns everything up full straight out. I like this guy. Lovely!
that's the way to live
Your springy hair convinced me to buy this pedal
his hair is springier than the reverb
Everything matches
Still my favourite reverb pedal, tried many but this is the one I always come back too.
Glad he played "Baja" because that is a good test to see, I mean to hear how good it is. No one plays that song in demos for some reason but this guy.
There are probably more retards with pedals on youtube than any other group that needs a retard.
I liked the "Walk, Don't Run" demo. You can get new Danelectro Spring Kings, they have returned.

most springs have that issue
That adds to the ambiance ;)
Embrace the chaos.
..thanks for the tip, I'll buy one soon as possible 😂
Just sit it on your amp?

I’d uſe it in an FX loop
Absolutely Awesome playing!! One of
of my all time favorite songs ever!!
I keep kicking my phone and nothing happens):
Gotta love the peter gunn theme. Blues brothers
Part of the fun of this comes from the slight overdrive from the amp hitting the reverb signal
Thats the REAL thing! Reminds me my 60ties, with a Dynacord amp and a Telefunken Springreverb. Times went by 🎸😞😉
I heard that if you play this pedal in a band setting it’ll trigger the springs quite a bit because of the vibrations that everyone else is making with their instruments.
so if you’re interested in this pedal, just be mindful of that
Sad they discontinued this!! Stoked I found one of the last ones on Sweetwater. Love the kick pad feature
So was this discontinued, and then brought back? Because I just looked and you can buy them new all over the place right now.
The Art of Noise feat Duane Eddy - nice !!
Love the sustain & the "wet" sound on this one! I just bought the Keeley Memphis Sun, Digitek Trio+, and the Vox Tonelab LE. So I'm still having fun, but I'm thinking on getting this one to.
Not sure if reverb is coming from danelectro or his hair
That Reverb is promoting Spring King the reverb pedal by springy hair guy makes me wanna purchase one
Ren n stimpy theme would sound awesome on this
Hey, I've got one of these in my suitcase of forgotten pedals! Usually things go in there never to be seen again (wah, chorus, flangers, etc.) but this is getting dug out.
+Brad Carroll Yes, get it out and turn it on! And then kick it!
I miss kicking my old crate amp around like this.
Matto1349 i miss kicking around your crate amp, too
Same! My Crate VC50 could make these noises ❤
Everyone else on youtube is afraid to kick it...but You ! 🤘on Good man!
He kicked the sh*t out of it!!
Just got one on Reverb, woo!
Great demo guys!
When he turns up the pedal he’s playing Baja by the Astronauts
thank you for bringing this to my attention
it sounds so WET!
i agree but ew
Just ordered one off Reverb, can't wait to try that kick pad through an OD pedal
Only bad side to real springs is sometimes the bass or kick drum can make the springs vibrate while playing live so it has to be placed on top of your amp
Christopher Robbins yes, it happened to me all the time.
its been over a year since i saw this video and finally i own one of these
Worth it?
have this thing! super awesome and retro

would be perfect for a Teen Suicide style band
More convincing than the Boss/Fender reverb itself? Sounds pretty convincing on youtube.
What's the last demo song he did? It's so catchy, and I recognize it (I think) but can't put a name to it.
Walk Don't Run
What’s the song he played towards the end of the video at 3:20
Walk, Don't Run .... jeeze 🙄
jk, dude. I'm old
Hi, how would you like to know with which power adapter you use for the spring danelectro
Yo, what's that mellow song he plays right after he dials back the tone that has that E chord with the C# in it?

The price of this pedal is unreal for what you get. I honestly don't believe it.
Danelectro always has very good prices
@@RombautsRacing66 Danelectro is the shit
I think Dano are still making them - at least Thomann are still selling them!
@Finder Outer still selling them two years later. I know Thomann is the size of a small village, but I'm surprised they still have any left.
@@HitmanJenkins1 there might've been a reissue. Or maybe they've uncovered a whole warehouse of these
What's the song he plays at 1:34 i have heard it before but can't figure out how it's called!!!??
RatPits I know it too but can’t remember I’m so sorry just listen to Surf playlists you’ll hear it
@@TheTrollMastah”Baja” by ‘60s surf band the Astronauts, also covered by hardcore punk band JFA in the early ‘80s
@@JMarinelli Ah yes The Astronauts were from my hometown lol and they sing a song called ‘55 Early Bird (about a Tbird)
To anyone who owns one: Do you think it would stand some low tuning, fuzzy stoner sound or would the loud and low sound make the springs vibrate all the timeand make it too noisy? Thanks
I would use th earthquaker devices ghost reverb for downtuned fuzz doomy stuff. Fuzz and reverb we're always used in the 60s but not downtuned
CAVS?
What songs did he play?
I love how he is doing demo of this product and then proceeds to repeatedly kicking it
What's the first song he plays? I've heard it before.
+PSPbrtag Walk, Don't Run by the Ventures
walk dont run
THIS STUFF IS FWKIN LIT !!!
That intro😂
Does it have springs though?
Yes. You know for sure, because he bangs the thing around and the springs react.
Anton Dann He said that in the beginning bro
Like Jonny King , but the reverb is cool .
Great...
Now I need one....
Oh man, used to have one of these. Super noisy but ridiculous fun
When you hit the kick pad it sounds like a Wipeout!
Sounds good, its cheap and its kinda huge...
I can envision the guitar players of Los Straitjacks using these.
It does have 2 stages of digital delay i thought
>Has a perfectly working tremolo arm
>Uses the tuner to change pitch
>Refuses to elaborate further
"Come on Marge, it's fun to [kick] things!" ... :P
What guitar is that?😍😍
Shelton Guitars GalaxyFlite
thing sounds amazing.
the price?
shalom
i got one off ebay for like 90 bucks. the pad he kicks is basically useless tho, and if your gonna put it on a board its gonna take up half your space. it is kitchy tho
What song were you playing in the beginning
Walk dont run
What was the first song?
any fuzz pedals that pair nicely with this?
danny nelson Probably something bright and nasty, like a Fuzzrite or a Tonebender, or any clone of the either. They have enough mids to stand out in a mix and can similarly be really saturated and raw. I'm a Tonebender guy, but I'd look into both.
Tonebender Mk1
This is... amazing
What kind of guitar is that?
+Sean Kader That's a Shelton Guitars GalaxyFlite.
+Reverb.com thank you!
the sandals!
I don't get nearly that much drip out of mine!
did you fix this problem? help!!! i dont either :(
kyle ciarrocchi Spring king is not very drippy verb, you need very bright guitar with snappy attack and pick hard at very close to bridge or you could try delay with it.
It's just a pedal, not an amp?
WHAT is that beautiful guitar here???
Great pedal at affortable price...
I use this pedal since years for at home playing. Love it at home, playig through a 1966 VibroChamp! Together with band it sucks imo. ...and, why ruining the design of the guitar with the ugly clip tuner??? Kick it! :)
a NEW SYNDROME: GASgoline; guitar acquisition syndorme guy/oldie on line
He should've elbow dropped that spring king lol
💪🏻😂🤳
cool
i love this video
Someone know how to mod to true bypass? This is the main lack of this pedal.
What in the world would Jimmy Hendrix have done without his ....... TRUE bypass pedals lmao?
It actually is digital echo circuit but takes advantage of springs too.
Not discontinued anymore though ;P
Funky Juan
Nice

If you open that thing up and see all the loose wires and how cheaply built it looks inside... you wouldn't kick it like that. Just a tip.
If someone opened you up and saw all your loose wires and how cheaply built you look inside...doesn't feel very nice when it's reversed back at you, now does it?
It's digital reverb with springs just for pad ;-)
:)

Your new seller fees are enormously depressing. Going back to EBay and forums.
really ? Their site doesn't hyperlink models anymore either..I'm not shopping there so much these days because it takes too much time.
どうやって蹴るところで笑うわ
You dont kick it like a fool, you supposed to tap like a flamenco player tap the bass pedal with that *giant spanish leather boot*
