The KEY9 transforms the tone of a guitar and/or keyboard into a convincing electric piano emulation, including several variations of the classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds. Great demo. I'm a keyboard player that also plays guitar and the key in using this properly is to play it like a keyboard. It's the same when a keyboard play wants to sound like a guitar you have to play it with the dynamics of a guitar. Well done with this demo.
Just played a live gig with this thing. Fabulous! EHX really have pulled out all the 'organ' stops with this. B9, C9 and KEY9 really are the tools we have been looking for. Midi - you just lost the war! You will need a noise gate, but once again EHX has an answer for that as well with the Silencer. Top products, top guys, top sounds. I've never sounded better!

Absolutely brilliant. The pedal is excellent but the playing, I take my hat off to you sir! Apart from you being a superb guitarist, the way you have adapted your playing to put your head into a keyboard player is very impressive. This is not simply playing a different sound with the guitar it's a different mind set altogether IMHO.

I came here expecting the key 9 to be a bit dull, but it’s actually amazing

They're telling us to avoid panic buying, but I just ordered this and the Bass9. With a looper and my drums I'm about to go one man band (and crowd) and really self isolate. Terrible joke, sorry. But seriously can't wait until these pedals arrive.

I can remember seeing ELP, when they first came to the US in the early seventies.
Keith Emerson gave a demo of the Moog synthesizer and everyone was blown away. Amazing as to come to the present day and the progress that has been made.

Wish I had found this channel sooner. I started guitar in the early '80s so I thought the only effects pedals were distortion, phaser, flanger, and wah. Had no idea ones like these existed, lol.

I already have the B9 and the C9 (I did have two B9's - one for each board until the C9 came out) and they are awesome but the ultimate has to be one pedal featuring all three pedals sounds with MIDI selection - That would be the most perfect pedal ever made !!!

Thank you Bill for such excellent demos! Your choice of songs is a very good thing. For the eHx demos you pick songs from Ray Charles, Steely Dan, Beck, the Doors and Kraftwerk and you play the songs like a master! I enjoy listening to your playing while I paint. You have a solid talent, sir!
By the way the quality of the demo is excellent. Great playing and clearly explained demo. This looks ideal for fingerpicking .... Just the right length to keep people interested.

Just got this pedal a few weeks ago!!...what can I say, I love it!!...the thing being it as integrated effects like chorus and low octave (num 1), tremolo (num 2), phase (num 3), percs (num 4), combined effects (num 5), Leslie and tremolo (num 6, my favorite, the perfect Caravan sound and so much more), percs and vibrato (num 7), percs, modulation and octaves (num 8) and punchy attack and high octave (num 9)!!...you can mix-in your original guitar sound or use a hot signal with one pickup and have a seperate dry signal or another pickup on your guitar with a dry signal going to a separate input on your amp and blend those two together!!...I mean, that's totaly amazing!!...bring it in lightly or use it full blown, you will be blown away by this pedal that brings inspiration to your playing!!...mix all of that with a delay and reverb and you are on your way to new musical heights!!...

I'm still coming back to these organ pedal demos because I love the crap out of these things but after years of deciding, I'm pretty firm on the Key9 because of that elusive Fender Rhodes piano sound, plus the "B3 on acid" Deep Purple Highway Star sound!.. my band did fire the keyboard player!! 🤣🤣🤣

Since you can do multi-tone pitch extraction and then for each note, synthesize the 'tonal carrier' waveform and envelope of the different keyboards, I figured you could generate sax and trumpet too. So, when will you be releasing the HORN SECTION ? Seriously.

Finally got my hands on one of these, and my band mates love it. The cool things I can do when pairing it with other neat effects on my pedalboard make for some unreal sounds, and I can't ask for a better product.

I've had this pedal for several years and I still can't make it sound this good.
Since my first EHX purchase of the Deluxe Memory Man in the early 80's I knew this company was special. These new keyboard units like the C9 and the latest Mel9 are state of the art devices and insane from a value stand point based on how little they cost !!! If they keep this up their engineers are going to be fitted for straight jackets !!! Cant wait for my Mel9 to arrive !!!
