    After years of failed yoga attempts and still awaiting an official diagnosis pertaining to HSD....this short video explained to me why I may be in pain! I truly did not understand and I assumed the deeper the stretch, the longer the hold, the better it was. Hypermobile joints truly do need a unique and tailored approach. TY for these videos!

      even with a diagnosis, doctors were clueless as how to help me. i did find a good physio but they stopped accepting state insurance and my private insurance after one cycle working with them. Now, hypermobile workouts are about learning form, function, and going like 25% my previous workout intensity prior to my diagnosis. I still find myself overdoing it and needing to go back to just walking for weeks at a time. slow down, cut down the workouts, add in stuff after months of consistency 3 days a week. thats whats helped me the most.

    Your videos are incredibly helpful as all the comments say. You also are so consistent at uploading, and replying to comments. I think if you target your content to a more general audience - scoliosis, anyone with tight muscles, joint pain, etc, you’ll attract the broader audience that you deserve and that needs your wisdom!

    I have pots and eds and I exercise quite frequently being a young man thank you for this static stretching for me is terrible and I’ve wondered if dynamics are bad for me too thank you again provides me a lot of relief after exercise

    Very sensible in light of a confusing condition such as hypermobility with equal elements of hypomobility. Thank you! Subscribed.

    Just... thank you. This makes so much sense to me. I've been hurting myself stretching for years now and I've become scared to stretch and work out because of my hypermobility. Glad to see I have other movement options.

    i stretched EXACTLY the same as 2:55 right before watching this. i always stretch that way and hurt afterwards, to the point where i almost never stretch. this video has completely changed the way i think about stretching! thank you 🤍

    Hi Jeanne, I’ve just recently been diagnosed with hypermobility. Can you do a longer dynamic stretching video please with multiple exercises?

    Oh wow! What a difference the other stretch is! I'm an obese Zebra with multiple disc issues that don't really allow me to comfortably flop over and touch the ground hands flat anymore. The amount of control with the second example felt much nicer in that I wasn't just letting gravity do its thing. Now my POTs didn't love it but still felt way better in general. 😅

    damn, if only my GP would be chill with me bringing in a youtube video (or hell entire channel) for them to watch. i've had so many years of being berated by GPs for insisting that "regular" exercise only makes things worse for me, and you've got a great way of explaining these things. also that initial example of the "hanging" forward roll gave me a funny (if painful) memory: physiotherapist in my first appointment as a teen asked me to do a forward roll, i promptly flopped forward with enough force to sublux one of my shoulders, she was horrified. oops!

    Hopefully this works, I have hypermobility issues in my arms, knees, fingers, etc. And it cause alot of pain, almost as if I have arthritis.

    Can I ask how I can safely stretch my back/quads with hypermobility?

  • @whiteisland5778
    @whiteisland5778 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is this ok for for herniated discs in lower back? I've read that you shouldn't do this movement if you have spinal damage there.

    Is restorative yoga (where you hold the pose for 3-5 minutes with props) considered dynamic or static?

    • @JeannieDiBonHypermobility
      @JeannieDiBonHypermobility  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I love restorative yoga 🧘‍♂️. This is different because you are supported by props. You are yielding to gravity which releases tension from the body.

      @@JeannieDiBonHypermobility this makes me so happy! I really enjoy restorative yoga, and I didn’t want to give it up! I’m so glad it’s got a golden seal of approval. Your TH-cam content and the zebra club are extraordinary. So much hope, even/especially for the exercise intolerant or histamine sensitive. Thank you!

    Just found your channel, looking to get diagnosed but I have all the symptoms and pass the Beighton test with flying colors unfortunately. My problem is I have fibromyalgia, Sjogrens, neuropathy and pain issues and can’t get on the floor or I’d never get up and it is just too painful, I mean scream out painful. Is there more standing exercises than the one in the no dialogue 12 second video? or should I get a physical therapy table and can I do these exercises on the table since that is slightly easier for me? Thank you in advance. I’m finding out why my Physical Therapists were saying I was weird because I would get migraine with aura, pain and dizziness after doing my balance and pain PT and stretching and massage. I can’t find anyone to diagnose me currently. I’m trying but nobody calls back. I also suffer from hemiplegic migraines so my bouncy cardio and stretching and weight exercises have made me further broken. Sorry just venting. It is so good to find your channel! Thanks again!
    I’m sorry I just realized this is old and I’m looking and finding more exercises on your channel.

      Many people don’t understand the subtle nature of EDS and how sensitive our tissues are to over stretching.
