    I saw all your 4 episodes on composting, you have explained it very well and systematically. Since I segregate my house waste, I wanted to do my composting but I don't have carbon waste in adequate quantity to maintain C:N ratio. But thank you anyways. It's always good to stay updated.

      I am not a big fan of them. but they keep coming to my compost bin. I give up to them eventually and let them come to freely. I even made special compost bin for them only contain fruit waste, peels, and other green that they like. never added water or carbon material. if I added bigger leaves or paper it will remain as it when the compost finished. they finished it quicker than other hot compost bin. much darker, almost black and crumbly, I don't even need to sieve it. so it was win win.

    Thanks very much for this composting series. I follow your videos regularly and they are of utmost help. I have an enquiry, if you please, a thick almost black liquid has dripped in the container under my compost bin. As it's a very rich liquid fertilizer I've saved it to use for plants but there are some larvas in it! My question is can I use this liquid after straining it? And what should be the ratio? The liquid is very thick!
    I value your opinion!

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Yes that’s the compost tea. Larvae are ok. You can use it in 1:50 dilution to water the plants. Like 1 tablespoon per litre water.

    First do you leave the bin under direct sunlight?
    Second do you add water?

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The wet greens have lot of water content which is generally sufficient. You sprinkle water only if it’s going too dry or if you do open bin composting.

    What happens to your compost if you don't add the powder starter?

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2 things can happen. Foul smell and putrefaction and failure.
      If you add some existing compost or soil with microbes, it may form compost.
      But if you add these powders, success guaranteed plus faster composting!

    Help--Sir,my cucumber plants are attacked by Green color worms below leaves n making leaves like skeleton n hollow.. I sprayed neem oil+galic mixture. Few suggestions :
    1) they laying eggs n attacking new starting Budds n eaten away baby leaves..SHALL I pinch away that bud,if it pause my plant growth..as those leaves look like dead.
    2) After 2 days of neem oil spray,i can still c these green worms beneath leaves..What should I do?? Shall I spray again.
    3) I have okra,bringal,chilli,Ridge gourd,tomato plants will it impact them also ..Remedy please 🙏

      Most likely caterpillars 🐛. Hand pick and eliminate as many as you can and then spray neem oil pesticide.
      The tips if pinched will result in branching of the plant. No problem.
