Thank you for this. I used to live in SD for 10 years.. then moved to the Midwest. The bay and beachside boardwalks of SD are sacred to me. I miss that scene so much!
This was my go to beach during my years there with the Navy, 1968 and 69. The roller coaster and a few of the shops were there but nothing else. I learned to surf here.
My wife and I just planned a trip San Diego in Mid-August. I watched all 3 of your beach videos and they were well done and gave me some cool inspiration for our trip.
I remember walking here in the late 90s thanks for the memories I still walk there once in a while last time was 2019 might go back there with my girlfriend.
Last time when I was there was in... 1994 and 1995 during the summer when I was a french young teen... I spent most of my time at Mission Beach and Pacific Beach and i have done the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park. I studied at College Prep of English at Pacific Beach. I'll back for sure
Sometimes I think "I'll move out of San Diego" and then I think about all my friends who left and can't come back . . . and then I'm like, "I'm not leaving." lol
Even though this was a nice video of San Diego, I really would of LOVED to have seen the ocean and waves, I am all about the sounds and sights of the ocean! 🌊⛵🐳🌊⛱
This really takes me back, but of course, it is different than i remember Belmont Park from 30 to 40+ years ago........ in the late 70's-early 80's, my friends and i used to camp out for the weekend in our car's in the Parking lot. Shower at the Life Guard station bathrooms and dine at one of the multiple beach bars for happy hour.. we could get away with rubbing the yellow chalk off of the tires and park some were else, without getting towed..

Curious..... do you wear a shirt or hat that says, 'Wave to the camera' or something like that? Because I noticed in your videos where quite a few folks would wave or in the case of the young lady at the 21:10 mark - "WOOO!" Hahaha.

If you find yourself in SD...rent or take a bike and ride the entire board walk. From Mission Bay, to Mission Beach all the way to Pacific Beach and back.
Does anyone know the typical prices for bike rentals in this area? We are eloping to San Diego in 2 days and this seems like an awesome place to explore!

It's funny how those Tilt-A-Whirl cars look like Ice Cream and cones even at the center.
When I moved to Pacific Beach in 2005. I rode my bike up to 30 miles per day.
And I always found myself on the Beach Boardwalk, each day.
Probably the only truly bike-able area of San Diego. It's actually flat!

Mu old neighborhood. I used to live on Balboa Court.
South Mission, the boardwalk is narrow at this end. The entire boardwalk north of Belmont Park use to look like this before it was widened
