6:02 Not really true. The f/2.2 lens will capture more(!) light per time from an object. F/2.2 only means that it captures less light per sensor area per time. But the lens will capture more light from an object. These are very different things and most reviewers and photographers don't understand the difference.
If you observe MKBHD videos, he doesn't do proper camera tests at all. He just takes the same shots in every video which are not very challenging and doesn't reveal the potential of camera improvements. For camera, I trust Mrwhosetheboss and verge.
4:53 If the 12 Pro used 3s and 12 Pro Max 1s in this image, then the difference is basically only software in this case. For example if the 3s of the 12 Pro mean six 0.5s frames and the 1s means two 0.5s frames, then there is actually no reason to expect a better noise performance from the 12 Pro Max as it only captures 47% more light per time. In extreme low-light conditions with a lot of read noise one could compare √6 x 0.5 > √2 x 0.5 x 1.47 , in average light conditions one could compare 6x0.5 > 2 x 0.5 x 1.47 Indeed the 12 Pro Max doesn't seem to have more details here, the software just brightens it.

Best comparison video so far on iPhone 12 pro series
Nilay's reviews are getting more and more of dark Batman over the years: «I am tired, but the city has no one else to do the job».
I mean he only does iPhone reviews so that's ONCE a year.
I upgraded from the 8+ to the 12 Pro Max. I wanted the better camera since I take a lot of photos. The size doesn’t bother me at all. I didn’t think I’d use 5G since I live in a rural county in Virginia. Surprisingly I get 5G. Very pleased with this purchase
Biased. Best smartphone camera doesn't exist. It's a matter of preference. All flagship smartphones have great cameras.
if you want mainstream opinion, you know MKBHD has more views. this is the verge. they like the iphone stuff.
I love this iPhone 12 Pro Max! I just got mine yesterday....I’m loving it so much! It is a big phone but I am one who enjoys bigger phones so the size doesn’t really bother me. I just got it so it’s too soon to tell but so far I’m loving it and i can’t believe how fast it is!!!! I had the iPhone XR before this iPhone 12 Pro Max and I hated it it wasn’t a good phone it barely lasted me 8 months! I liked it for the battery that’s about it. But this iPhone 12 Pro Max is the king for all other iPhones so far!
definitely gotta watch verge first
It’s not worth the increase in size for that little difference.
Why do we need 5G. How about improve LTE
I completely agree considering there’s barely any areas that support 5G anyways...also the 12 offers better 4g speeds due to the better modem so i guess 🤷🏻♂️ still wouldn’t upgrade just for a slight faster speed
5G is basically an upgrade from LTE
@@victuringan1429 true 5G right now 5G is slower than LTE
@@victuringan1429 Like Micca I barely have LTE in parts of my city and anywhere in Wyoming... so I guess they gave up on building out the network for flashy advertising bling? Why should I believe their rosy promises when they haven’t fulfilled the promises of last year? I expect to have to drive to Denver to get 5G.
I have only watched Verge yet for iphone pro max review. Not bcoz i trust Verge but i love it...
It's approaching tablet size - Apple needs to add tablet features like split screen.
I don't know the point of their super powerful chipsets when you can't even make use of it for actual multi-tasking.
@@Davidsworldtravels for better photos, longer life span.
@@AaronFigFront it's true but I use the camera a small percentage of time. I'm using apps all the time.
Best camera review on TH-cam 👍🏼
Is it just me or those the picture quality of both the Max and the Pro look EXACTLY the same?
No you are right. MKBHD is not enthousiastic about the new hardware and says the results are just the same
Best review of all the major channels by far! Especially on camera comparisons. Thank you!
Man, this is a piece of jewelry.
Upgrading to this from an iPhone 8, going to be a game-changer.
The lens flare on these new iphone videos is sooo bad.
U mean you don't like the green UFO's in every image you take with light hitting your 3 lenses? lol 👽
6:02 Not really true. The f/2.2 lens will capture more(!) light per time from an object. F/2.2 only means that it captures less light per sensor area per time. But the lens will capture more light from an object. These are very different things and most reviewers and photographers don't understand the difference.
This is totally different than what MKBHD said in his review 🙄 which basically said the 12 Pro Max isn't worth it
They're all just opinions
The Verge loves 🍎..Soooo
@@GaTeR2006 Verge Gives honest review while MKBHD is little favour to Pixels phones🤦
MKBHD doesn’t know everything. It’s just his opinion 🤷♂️
In extreme low-light conditions with a lot of read noise one could compare √6 x 0.5 > √2 x 0.5 x 1.47 , in average light conditions one could compare 6x0.5 > 2 x 0.5 x 1.47
Indeed the 12 Pro Max doesn't seem to have more details here, the software just brightens it.
Design🔥🔥
All the videos on TH-cam about iPhone 12 pro max is gold lol
Best camera phone ever and reflects a lot of lights at day and night 🙄
Lol facts though
I honestly don't see the imperfections on the Note 20 Ultra photos that they used in this video.
They look perfect to me.
