Thank you , I found this video very helpful. P.S. I've been playing Tinwhistle since I was an 8 y/o boy back in Ireland.Im now 81 years old. I'd love to hear you playing that lovely Irish Slow Air "The Coolin"
Go raibh maith agat Antoni. I tend to think the fundamentals of good Irish music trad performance are a constant across all skill levels. They can be appreciated and reinforced by anyone.
Great video and energy! It would be lovely if you could make a tune tutorial with ornaments slowly and gradually added, most of the videos on youtube just show a bunch of ornaments and tell you to throw them wherever and you don't even know how to practice
@@MattSaunders Sounds amazing really, i just hope that you also have a real example and do it gradually: first you learn a basic melody, then you add all the taps, then all the slides etc, something like that
@@MattSaunders that's great how you like your new Killarney? I just ordered a brass Killarney from Mcneela. It's a beautiful flute plays great in the upper register I have been keeping up with your tutorial videos and tips. Thank you so much for your videos.

Wonderful tutorial video. Thank you so much.
I appreciated this so much!. This was very plain and clear, Thank you.
Not a bother at all. I will be making more focused videos to teach the Irish style in the near future but life is busy right now 😅
Fantastic example adding the ornamentation! Nice video. 😊
More lessons please!
nicely done
Thanks Michael! If there are any videos you would like to see, let me know. I’m looking for new ideas for tutorials that can provide value.
Grazie dall'Italia :-) (Thank you from Italy) ...the smile is the same :-D
I’m not a beginner ahahah, but LOVE this video👌🏼 really great and informative

Thanks for the comment! What if I make a breakdown with sheet music and explaining how to see where to add ornaments with examples?

It is coolest video what i have seen. Thank you!
I have liked your of playing the whistle but can recommend some books for example to play high notes above the staff on a D tin whistle thnx a lot
Nice! 🙃
Tidy 👍
Reptiles can play the tin whistle?
what whistle are you playing? I don't recognize the mouthpiece. Looks like a Reyburn maybe?
Yes, this was a very old Reyburn. I’ve since switched to a nickel plated Killarney.
@@MattSaunders Reyburn would be an upgrade from my generation. Are you willing to part with it?

My poor neighbors! Brilliant video, though, go raibh míle maith agat a chara!
My neighbor thinks I play the same tune everyday for hours. 😂
Lost me after the 1st minute, wtf is a scale?
A scale is a pattern/organization of musical sounds. It's used as the basis for the melody/tune.
@@heathermacleod6339 I'm still lost
@@heathermacleod6339 I though a scale is what you weigh flour with?
Nobody really cares about the Irish style. Everyone thinks about how to play the blues, but Americans are learning to play Irish music.
