    I just bought a DeWALT DCF899 to replace my car's shock absorber. Easily removed all nuts from the shock absorber.
    I am very happy with the DeWALT DCF899

      @@davidray8763 I bought it bare tool and run it with the 3ah battery or a 5ah battery. Sometimes I'll stick a 9ah flexvolt on it too. Just depends...but in my experience it has the same power with any size battery.

      Ive come across several bolts on a regular car which it cant loosen. Usually bacause they are seized due to rust. In these cases its better to use a breaker bar (in addisjon to chemicals and heat off course) as the dewalt will just strip the bolt heads.

      Does it have 3 speed or 1? How much torque in lower mode ? I'm trying to get me 1 with 10ahr batt

    I couldn't break my rack and pinion to frame bolts free by hand, so i got this impact. Luckily it just barely fit into the tight space. It broke the bolts free in like 2 seconds. Since then, i have used it hundreds of times. Well worth the money in my opinion

    Prolly getting this for Christmas. Much needed tool for me. Been doing things the hard way for decades. Anyhoo, my inquiring mind wonders why haven’t they come up with an impact that also utilizes a torque reading, too. Like a two in one combo. Just a thought.

      If you’ve ever checked out the inside of an impact you’d see it’s a rotating mini hammer action which would be difficult to tune and get precise torques out of hahaha good idea tho lol

    It has up to 950Nm but "it also provides up to 1625Nm of breakaway torque". Is it something built-in or do we need to switch some option for this function? That would be huge for impact driver

    Hi Brad,
    Use this Dewalt 1/2" high impact on a project to install bolts through a ledger board and it worked great.
    Have to say the DeWalt mid impact is also pretty good.
    Thanks for the video

    Dewalt need to update that tool Milwaukee refreshed their 1/2 high torque 3 times since that impact been out

    • @juanc5149
      @juanc5149 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think an update it’s coming. But they updated it once.
      2763, came out in 2014. Then the dcf899 came out in 2015. 2767 came out end of 2017. And honestly it’s only marginally more powerful than the 899, if at all.
      Either way I think the 899 successor will come in two flavors. A power detect and FlexVolt advantage versions.

    I’m a new mechanic and I’m looking for something that will last a long time along with give me enough power for almost anything other than an 18 wheeler. Do you think it will take the abuse of being used at least once a week for at least 2-3 years? Like I said I’m a newer mechanic and don’t have much money to replace tools.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it's Definitely a tough tool, but I think Milwaukee might be a better choice for a mechanic. they have a really nice line of tools for you guys and way more options then Dewalt has for that Industry. Im also a 2nd year Diesel Mechanic and if I was to get back into the trade it would be Milwaukee.

    What is the torque in foot pounds when screwing in the bolts on minimum settings. Is this just for quickly removing lugs? What about fastening em to specific foot pounds or Newton meters that car companies specify?

    • @basoncivicsi
      @basoncivicsi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this you use a torque stick attached to the socket to limit the applied torque. There is no torque settings.

    • @hammerandhome
