- In this video I interview a docent of historic Sanchez Adobe, Bridget. Sanchez Adobe is a historic site that was originally populated by Ohlone Indian tribes, and after the incidental discovery of San Francisco Bay by a Spanish naval officer Gaspar de Portola with the following Spanish and later Mexican colonization, an adobe was built here to serve as a home of Francisco Sanchez (alcalde, ie, mayor) of San Francisco. Bridget shared with me the fascinating and dramatic history of Pacifica spanning for 3 centuries and covering 4 periods - Indian, Spanish, Mexican and American. If you are interested to learn more about Pacifica history, I recommend that you visit historic Sanchez Adobe. You can find their contact information and learn more about this place at the following sites:

Thank you for sharing part of the rich history of Pacifica, our emerald by the bay.
Hello Pacifica 👋 This was a wonderful episode. I enjoyed hearing about the history and seeing the artifacts and displays. I have an Abobe home near me. The Pena Adobe House. The museum is only open 1 day a month, and I haven't been in to see it as of yet. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! I am glad that you have enjoyed this video. I am a history buff, so I was excited to learn so much about Pacifica history through this interview. :-)
