"stop mashing a" **Proceeds to mash the hell out of a** Also, in route 25 you can skip the battles by walking back and forth in and out of the rain, if there are enough npcs, they'll disappear. Accidentally running into one will freeze your game though, so be careful. The glitch is in my channel
You can save time in kogas gym by going up to the top right corner and then 5 tiles left and then down. From there on you will find yourself in a path that will lead you to koga while completely skipping the 2 potentials fights in the top left corner.
Hii, first of all this is an amazing speedrun. It motivates me to make an Any% speedrun of Normal mode, maybe even HC mode since it's much easier with dexnav glitching. Anyway, I've found a pretty funny glitch in another comment, it MIGHT save a few seconds but I'm not sure it's worth the effort, at all. I managed to reproduce it a few times, it's barely a good time skip. Basically the glitch makes a few select NPCs on Route 25 disappear if you manage to quickly run in between Route 24 and Route 25 while rain particles are falling. With the right timing, due to the rain particles not all NPCs will be able to load on Route 25, and scripts will not function correctly on that route (trying to start a trainer battle will softlock the game) until you open another menu such as the party menu, or the Bag. First you'd need to beat a few trainers on the route so you don't get in their sight and softlock the game. Go back to the part between route 24 and 25 and get the timing right for the glitch, then you'll realize that realistically speaking you can only skip one trainer, the Camper near the Defog TM, since the other ones will still be on the route because of the slow run speed compared to the Bike (the Bike leaves less time for the Route to load, so less elements will spawn). Also, you'd need to open a menu before the Lass at the end, in order to not make the game softlock. It's a risky time save, the trainer you skip takes what, 25 sec to beat. In a TAS the glitch could be useful yeah I can see the potential, but probably not in a speedrun. I also dunno if you plan to make a run that uses glitches, just wanted to make you, or anyone else reading this comment, aware of it.
I'd have to take a look, it may end up being impacted by the spinner that is skipped also, as doing an extra pass of them may not make it worth it in the long run (as you said, faster in a TAS scenario for sure but not sure about RTA). Appreciate the sentiments though, I've seen some of your strats for speedrunning in the DIscord and they're really cool! No idea if I'll do a run with DexNav skips in as they seem very luck dependent haha!
This is quite late and you might know this already but you can skip the double battles in the SS Anne if you only bring one Pokemon in your party. Probably saves a good bit of time.
X2 speed. Quick save. Spin in a circle over the course of one second. The mons fall into an assembly order. 5 mins after figuring this out I had a cosmog
I said in the vid, I probably didn't need to save for either Bruno or Agatha but I was on record pace at the time and if I'd lost against one and been sent back to Lorelei I would have not gotten it. The saves for Lance and the champ are necessary, Lance is shown in the vid as to why and the champion can go wrong, though unlikely, it's still worth saving.

In this game? Beyond necessary. Imagine getting a modest aggron or adamant gardevoir, it just doesnt work. I for instance do monotype/challenge runs, and wouldnt play without changing natures.

@@stfu5013 of course is not as easy to beat Brendan or any other trainer with the current level of Pokémon by leveling normally,as beat the trainers with advantage in the level,Radical Red is a Rom for trainers looking for a real challenge, and at least for me make a speed run of a hard game using cheats or glitches is a nonsense thing,in that case just can make a speed run of any pokemon game using lv 100 pokemon from the beginning.
