I know you’re gonna wipe to the Elite Four a LOT but here’s to hoping you don’t. It took me roughly 20 tries fully prepped while EV trained with good IVs so I can only imagine how hard it’s gonna be with rando Pokemon
If this game is so easy then play hardcore mode. No setup, certain abilities and stuff not allowed, enemies have legends by like surge or erika and brock has a full sand team, misty full rain team, etc
I beat this game like 2 weeks ago on randomizer. My team at the time of e4 was abomasnow, krookodile, keldeo, articuno, mega metagross and speed boost blaziken(the one may gives you doesn't get randomized into something else along with the treecko brendon gives you).I could've used mega sceptile but I chose to keep my starter instead

@@rtiq270 When non fast paced action of pokemon is stil more enjoyable than your notifications it should tell you something about obnoxious your notifications are. Thanks for proving OP point.
Pretty epic. Will freely admit you're a **damn** good nuzlocker. Was running my own nuzlocke of this, but gave up the rule set at Erica. I gave up the rules because A. The computer absolutely cheats by knowing all of the exact stats, items, and everything you have and makes its decisions based on those facts. There's good AI, and then there's straight up cheating. IMO, it's not doable truly blind because there's too much shit that straight up ambushes you. B. The difficulty in the game stems mostly from the opponent just having better moves and faster Pokémon than you're typically capable of getting at any given point (there are what...3 gym leaders with some form of Greninja?) . And I feel like that's in bad faith for nuzlocking in general.
I disagree with your opinion on cheating. Cheating would imply it doing something that you could do within what is normally allowed, and you could easily look up what they use and previous knowledge of the moms would tell you their stats and such. Making decisions on such things is something players are always doing, so why is it suddenly cheating when the AI does it back?
@@MayHugger You're right, I could look up all of the information about a gym leader, and Jan frequently does, but I come from a competitive pokémon background where there's always some mystery behind what your opponent has. Like I mentioned about Erika. She's running a full speed iv, speed nature, max speed EV Rillaboom. Even without having perfect knowledge of what moves and stats I have (they know when you outspeed them and change their behavior on that basis) it would be hard enough to fight her without losses. And again, just having higher average or more specialized mons than you are even capable of getting at a given time is its own form of cheating. I loved Radical Red, but a nuzlocke was not in the cards for me as it was just supremely frustrating. It's very impressive to me that Jan did it first try, but it was too annoying for me to continue my attempts.
@@ZerglingOne1 I will give you that part about having better mons, even though Pokémon has been doing that for years, that is pretty unfair in that type of game.
tbh i disagree here aswell, i beat erika with two pokemon, i had no idea what she had nor did i know her moves, so it was blind, ill admit, it took me 3 attempts but it did work.
@@Thecruelwing I merely gave up the nuzlocke when I reached her and died for the third time. I beat her easily once I removed the restrictions imposed by a nuzlocke. I just caught a darmanitan and blew her team away.
I feel like this rom hack's difficulty really shines brightest when you do mono type runs. My mono type water run was really challenging in the first half with Surge and Erica and their respective rematches, but I also attempted 4.1 where they added gen 9.
It's so much more difficult when you don't even know what some of the moves do and use the same 6-8 pokemon for everything. I could only thank god for sleep, freeze, and static paralyze.
@@JAxz5 big issue was having the entire game information ahead of time, movesets/Pokemon of all your major battles will take a bit of the challenge out because you can build a team to counter just about anything from there with the tools given.

And somehow outspeed you despite the pokemon you're using has a higher base speed. Is plus speed natured and fully ev trained in speed and max iv in speed as well. So yeah
@@cammy649 There is an item called Choice Scarf and a thing known as priority moves. Seems like you're complaining about being outsped in every comment without even reading the changelogs of this hack.
@@TheVarrio me too
every pokemon is out speeding me and my team isn't a really good team defensively so my pokemons faint just by one hit
I am stuck at blue battle and I don't know what to do
@@cammy649 the reason this happens its because the pokemon the gym leaders and rivals use are EV trained, which makes them much harder, the game still gives you plenty of oportunities to do the same and get a better chance to win, also some pokemon are meant to be slow so you should take advantage of their bulkyness instead
And they didnt even include PC's reaction to the first time he used Cut in the overworld, even though I painstakingly highlighted it :( What's even the point :(

I believe in the notes I read Ledian went from 35 base attack to 90 AND they gave it Iron Fist. What a crazy buff.
Your version is easier than what I got. In falkner's team in my version, he brought emolga instead. And with brock, his vulpix use incinerate instead.

@@jeffbezos2960 yeah but surely going into it blind and learning the teams and strategies the first few attempts would be more fun to watch.

18:36 Its not even a prediction lol, I remember save scumming this one to test the AI and the AI would choose what to do based on what move you selected

So what I picked up from this is never complain a Nuzlocke is too hard. Or else Pokémon Challenges will make us look stupid
this game really isnt hard if you play any VGC formats or play Showdown often. Just that its pretty cool and has lots of nice features
Agree with Brett, especially if you are familiar with new gen changes and additions. Also he have 3000+ hours of nuzlocke experience which matters alot handling lot of tight situations.

This seems like a super cool rom hack. I knew things like this existed, but assumed the quality would be shit. Will definitely check this out!
Wheres the rest of this play through?? I really REALLY want to see you nuzlocke beat giovani silph scope in radical red. One of the toughest pkmn fights ever imo
same im stuck there
That fight was easy enough it just took me a few resets (pro tip buy the rare egg from the old man it is a ditto it helped me so so much throughout the play through any Pokemon that sets up you just need luck you can send in ditto and if you outspeed you can just sweep the rest of the opponents team)
I was waiting for this :)
He should retry this nuzlocke the newest version of rad red is way harder than this one
I’m excited to see the next video since you stopped RIGHT before the difficulty curve.
Giovanni and Sabrina are menaces. Sabrina especially since she’s the first trainer I had to calc for. I know you’re gonna wipe to the Elite Four a LOT but here’s to hoping you don’t. It took me roughly 20 tries fully prepped while EV trained with good IVs so I can only imagine how hard it’s gonna be with rando Pokemon
The part of wiping to the E4 alot aged well lol
With the recent updates to the game radical red hardcore mode is very hard to nuzlocke maybe u should try the hardcore nuzlocke again
If this game is so easy then play hardcore mode. No setup, certain abilities and stuff not allowed, enemies have legends by like surge or erika and brock has a full sand team, misty full rain team, etc
the v4.0 hc mode is so hard compared to this version, i hope he plays the latest version.
“Going in blind but I’m gonna look before I do!”
Epic not going in blind! Way to do some research!!
Really like your real looking Slakoth at the end, but I hope it evolves soon since his truant ability kept him from doing anything
"This game is so unlockable."
Just wait till you get to the elite four...
yeah, the e4 is actually stupid in this game, that npc wasn't wrong "mate, this e4 is on some wack shit"
I like how he's nuzlocking it so much more easily than I played through it normally
Two of some of my fav PokeTubers make a Radical Red vid on the same day, YESSSSSSS
If you played on hardcore there’s no set up moves. The gym leaders start getting legendaries and Megas starting with surge. You definitely played the easiest mode. You should try it on hardcore.
Current Radical Red would be a MUCH longer video...
Great to watch, but this radical red seems different to the one I downloaded today. Falkner had a Emolga 🥴

Nuzlocking this game in 3.02 has been INFINITELY harder 😭
They made radical red so much harder
THAT OSHAWOTT BACK SPRITE IS GORGEOUS
Pretty epic. Will freely admit you're a **damn** good nuzlocker. Was running my own nuzlocke of this, but gave up the rule set at Erica. I gave up the rules because
After all my white outs, this'll be interesting to watch.
It's so much more difficult when you don't even know what some of the moves do and use the same 6-8 pokemon for everything. I could only thank god for sleep, freeze, and static paralyze.
I see you're trying out the Wolfey Glick method of making a thumbnail
Watching this during the run and bun era is so funny, he would absolutely destroy radred today
Tbf rad red has gotten harder too, but run n bun is probably still harder
@@PsydeON yeah but I mean some of the things he struggles with in this video he wouldn't now

Dude, how did you even deafeat Corvisquire... Is my question
this game was pratically MADE for you, i'm surprised it only appears only now
Yet he hated it
@@JAxz5 big issue was having the entire game information ahead of time, movesets/Pokemon of all your major battles will take a bit of the challenge out because you can build a team to counter just about anything from there with the tools given.
@@LuanDeJager yeah but thats the point why he hated it, its imposible to beat without the knowledge and prep time and after surge you got to prep for everu battle almost. Im not saying other things just what he said on stream
@@LuanDeJager yes but he hated how many options he had and that he had to prepare for every single fight in the game and would spend hours and hours theorycrafting for random ass fights, i would know, i watched the majority of his radical red streams and most of them were just him sitting in the pc looking at his options
