To be fair, the exosuit battery being depleted in less than a day and it malfunctioning/encumbering in the heat of the battle are very realistic points.
What's not realistic is that they didn't put armor on those exos. But maybe it's deliberate, to convey that infantrymen are so expendable that they don't want to spend extra money on safety features.
I think it was because they were built cheap and quick, don't know what language was being spoken when he was trying to use the suit, but maybe it was referencing cheap Chinese crap.
@@markeforsman Japanese. Still, making cheap exo armors to bolster the numbers instead of making high quality ones for a few is a good enough plan at first sight until it isn't
True, battles can be short or last a long time, but either way soldiers aren't supposed to be battling for more than a few hours at a time. Also it isn't economical to give full armor (extra weight and need for more battery life) to every foot soldier. Realistically they should have spent a little more resources in training and equipping for more aerial assault strikes since the area is overrun with aliens anyway.
For anyone confused on why the reset happened earlier at the end, it’s because of WHEN Cage got the power. The first time, he got the power on the day of the battle. The second time, after they defeated the Omega, he got the power 12 hours earlier before the battle is suppose to take place. The power reset 24 hours, so placing it in those two timeline, you can see how Cage ended up back at the helicopter at the end.

@@dashtoroya2838 I literally said that it wasn't based on a game. What I am trying to say is that the movie gave me the feeling of trying and trying after every failure to learn the nuances of a game, getting better over time. Edge of Tomorrow is not based on a game, but it very much shows what the experience of playing a game is like.
This was such an amazing, underrated action movie! I really enjoy re-watching this on tv whenever it plays. Wish we had more action movies like these with good, solid, one-off stories.
True that. Check the original manga, it's also worth it. And despite some concession to Hollywood-style and western (american) audience preferences, I think it's a good example of adaptation
Besides the ending, Edge of Tomorrow was pretty good! They somehow made the convoluting time loop plot of the original manga a little bit more... digestible. But I definitely love the way the manga ended rather than the film. It was very poignant and hopeful at the same time.
The ending is explained by the nature of the alien power. The Alpha resets 24 hours on death creating the loop when Tom Cruise fought it the first time this set the loop for 24 hours prior to that moment. When Tom Cruise gets the blood transfusion and loses the alien power the loop was broken but he still had not reached that point in time. When Tom Cruise and his team kill the big brain thing it is still the day before the original attack on the beach. He is exposed to the alien blood and loops back 24 hours to the day preceding his arrival in the camp although the exact amount of time he loops back this time may be greater due to the blood being from the giant brain rather than an Alpha.
I cannot get over how badass she is in this one. Like, she nails the "battlehardened soldier who fights tooth and nail for every next breath" archetype perfectly.
He comes back at a different time at the end because he lost the ability from the blood transfusion, then regained it when he killed the Alpha. So it changed the time in which he would reset.

Seriously I was hoping it wasn't just me who thought so.
The real ending was heart breaking.
4:08 Faster than a sitcoms actor gets a marvel role... 😁 I like it
The scene with the beach landing "first time " was absolutely epic
5:31 Yep, this movie gets the video game feel without actual being a video game movie.
Whenever this comes on, I don’t care where I am or what I’m doing, I’m watching this to the end
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 just came out on digital! Please give us the Honest Trailer next week!
This is the best videogame adaptation ever put to film and it isn’t even based on a game. So many memories of trying to get through Star Fox 64 for the first time.
This wasn't adapted from video games tho. It was adapted from a Japanese light novel and manga.
@@RalinaPerene You legitimately called it a "videogame adaptation"...kinda seems like maybe you should use words the way they're meant.
@@Astraeus.. How is their fault you failed to read the whole sentence before deciding their were wrong?
@@Astraeus.. I can kind of get the first guy misunderstanding the joke, but... just how stupid are you that you still don't get it?
the flash (2023) honest trailer. I hear tom cruise says it's the honest trailer we need now.
This was such an amazing, underrated action movie! I really enjoy re-watching this on tv whenever it plays.
Wish we had more action movies like these with good, solid, one-off stories.
Very Memorable and makes you feel like rewatching it anytime you think about it.
True that. Check the original manga, it's also worth it. And despite some concession to Hollywood-style and western (american) audience preferences, I think it's a good example of adaptation
i love you guys! one of my favorite movies critiqued perfectly, i cannot believe you made me wait so long!
This movie has no right being this good. Or have this much rewatchability.
The "ahh soo desu ne" sent me straight to the comments
Besides the ending, Edge of Tomorrow was pretty good! They somehow made the convoluting time loop plot of the original manga a little bit more... digestible. But I definitely love the way the manga ended rather than the film. It was very poignant and hopeful at the same time.
I don't know why I'm still surprised by Epic Voice Guy's epic impressions. Awesome Dr. Claw.
The writing on this one was next level. Kudos.
My dad got so angry watching this movie, because he thought I was rewinding it every time Tom Cruise died.
I literally searched for this two days ago and now this popped up
Say in a Palpatine voice
"What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?"
“Tom Cruise when he dreams about going to therapy” 😂🤣
You had me at Emily Blunt push-up yoga.
kudos and extra credit to committing to the bit for Dr Claw.
the bad guy voice demons are jealous of.
I love it. Such a fun movie! Watched it at least 3 times already and there's still not a single minute in this film I want to skip.
"Every time Tom thinks about going to therapy", man killer editing😂😂
3:43 Omg... That was real?!?
This movie is one of the most fun films in a decade. My wife and I have watched it probably dozens of times.
I watched this movie over and over like a thousand times now.
I just love it. And now I have fallen in love with Emily Blunt.
I cannot get over how badass she is in this one. Like, she nails the "battlehardened soldier who fights tooth and nail for every next breath" archetype perfectly.
Yah, after watching this and Adjustment Bureau I fell hard for her.
He comes back at a different time at the end because he lost the ability from the blood transfusion, then regained it when he killed the Alpha. So it changed the time in which he would reset.
flash(2023) honest trailer. it will be on digital soon.
2:52 omg you are absolutely right her day doesn't reset...she either will spent her time running from the law or going to prison....
@5:22 "Therapy"
Yeah, thanks for mentioning that part that got brushed out at the end of the movie. He would be totally bat-crap PTSDed by that experiance.
