The draft that the lions and detroit are hosting is the biggest event in detroit which is an exciting way to kick off the season. And for a change the lions are not picking high in the draft, so they won't really be the focus of the draft, as far as having a high pick as the lions usually have.

The rumor is that the lions might be interested in a first round wide receiver, because Josh Reynolds, a very good receiver for them, left in free agency. Even though they are not a rebuilding team anymore and they expect to win and go deep in the playoffs next year, the lions need to address several needs in the draft. People aren't gonna wanna hear this but, I truly believe the lions need a kicker that's a huge huge area of need. The lions might have won the game against the 49ers if Dan Campbell had any confidence in the kicker. Kicker, guard, and possibly another corner or safety and a late round wide receiver would be an a+ draft if they can address those needs.

They typically do that after the draft, but also it’s bad business to do that a year early because then you feel pressured to do it for everyone.
