Born and raised in Michigan and always wanted to see the lions finally do something great. After years of being disappointed I quit paying attention to the same ol’ lions. BUT after watching the second half of these season and especially the last game against the packers it’s evident that this team has the grit to overcome their reputation. I can honestly say I’m looking forward to next season for the first time.
With the Vikings in the same division, it’ll be tough but not impossible for them. Depends on how the draft goes for them and the packers too. But I hope so also. Would be good to see the Lions in the playoffs.

Eagles fan here, one of the toughest games the Eagles played this year was against the Lions, a 38-35 slugfest, barely won. I knew right then that the Lions were in good hands with MCDC

Their D was so much better in the 2nd half of the year. It took them a year+ to get the offense rolling, and they've always finished the year strong. Next year I wouldn't be surprised if their D starts clicking and becomes a force near the end of the year. They could genuinely go on a run, with both sides clicking. Hopefully their offense doesn't lose a step with or without Ben Johnson. As a Pats fan, I am now a Dan Campbell fan, and I was rooting for you ever since Matt Patricia left (sorry Detroit, we also fell victim to his coaching).

I was born and raised north of Detroit Michigan and love all my homestate teams but after the start the lions had with those injures I thought the season was done after 7 games and was prepared to get another high draft pick. But the coaches got the young guys to play awesome and have something to build off of.. sure glad the highest paid offense in the league showed how good they can be. Weren't even at full strength either swift wasn't 100 percent after game 2 had a high ankle sprain and a separated shoulder. And our new weapon Jameson Williams only played a few snaps all year 2 of which were touchdowns even though 1 was called back. Add a few more young guys with the draft even if this upcoming draft is half as good as last years we will still be better next season
GM Brad Holmes and his staff, HC Dan Campbell and his staff have completely changed the whole culture and damn near the whole roster in 2 years. As Coach Campbell said on this show, The Lions have also found their franchise QB in Jared Goff who has regained his confidence and poise which led to a tremendous season. The Lions will make the playoffs next season.
I respect Dan Campbell so much I wish he was a part of the faithful but he's doing great things for Detroit and I'm calling it now, Dan Campbell and the Lions will win the division next year !

Nobody will admit it. Houston is better than Hutchinson. Houston is quicker than Micha Parsons. Houston didn't even play 70 snaps. If he had played day one, he probably ends up with 20+ sacks. The stupid Lions actually cut him. Thank God Nobody signed him, off the practice squad.

He’s a complete package in the run game and the pass game while Houston is a freak athlete with a high ceiling but he’s smaller and less of an impact in the run game. It’s why Hutchinson is used on all 4 downs while Houston is used in more obvious passing situations.
The 49ers would have probably killed us, but seeing the Giants and Jags win a playoff game hurts a little because I think the Lions are quite a bit better than both. It’s their own fault, but I’m willing to give them a youth mulligan for the awful way they started the season. The future hasn’t looked this bright in a long time. Even when Stafford and Calvin were at their peak, the front office was still subpar. But now, we have a GM that makes great move after great move. I wasn’t a Campbell guy, but I’m all in with him now.
As much credit as DC gets (deservedly so), GM Brad Holmes deserves credit for a pretty good draft. To go from Quinn/Patricia to Holmes/Campbell is quite a contrast. I'm glad that the Lions were able to keep their assistant coaches so there's some continuity heading into next season. The Vikings will never break through as long as Cousins is there and it looks like Rodgers is moving on. This division will be wide open next year and the Lions will at least be a threat. Every team in the playoffs this year were probably happy that the Lions didn't get in.

Nobody will admit it. Houston is better than Hutchinson. Houston is quicker than Micha Parsons. Houston didn't even play 70 snaps. If he had played day one, he probably ends up with 20+ sacks. The stupid Lions actually cut him. Thank God Nobody signed him, off the practice squad.
@@stephensdygert7600they’re both good but Hutchinson is the more well rounded player overall. He’s a complete package in the run game and the pass game while Houston is a freak athlete with a high ceiling but he’s smaller and less of an impact in the run game. It’s why Hutchinson is used on all 4 downs while Houston is used in more obvious passing situations.

The 49ers would have probably killed us, but seeing the Giants and Jags win a playoff game hurts a little because I think the Lions are quite a bit better than both. It’s their own fault, but I’m willing to give them a youth mulligan for the awful way they started the season. The future hasn’t looked this bright in a long time. Even when Stafford and Calvin were at their peak, the front office was still subpar. But now, we have a GM that makes great move after great move. I wasn’t a Campbell guy, but I’m all in with him now.

As much credit as DC gets (deservedly so), GM Brad Holmes deserves credit for a pretty good draft. To go from Quinn/Patricia to Holmes/Campbell is quite a contrast. I'm glad that the Lions were able to keep their assistant coaches so there's some continuity heading into next season. The Vikings will never break through as long as Cousins is there and it looks like Rodgers is moving on. This division will be wide open next year and the Lions will at least be a threat. Every team in the playoffs this year were probably happy that the Lions didn't get in.
You can see how Dan Campbell is trying hard to not burst out laughing when kicker misses fifth in a row. What a great guy!
