Hundreds of similar communities across jamaica suffer from the same bad road condition. Even in the rich communities across jamaica the roads are in terrible condition. We have too many roads and we do not generate enough tax revenue to fix all these roads. Property tax in jamaica is relatively cheap, yet still the compliance rate is just over 50%.. Our road network is so vast, that even if the government budgeted all its revenue to road construction it would still not be enough.
Klarity Flex Congratulation on your channel. I see that you are highlighting the lovely Parish of St. Thomas. Yallah is a the are where they have the fording by that river bridge. The South Haven Housing Scheme is a very big area. With the abundant of Storms, and Hurricanes that Jamaica have, it's very hard to have smooth roads. Everywhere over the world is in a crisis now with global warming. People in these Communities have come together, get the roads fix little by little, and stop waiting on the government .Jamaica is a paradise, and we need to do more food planting, and tree planting to sure that place. Keep Up The Good Work.
@dleebox The problem is that the roads are poorly built. They put fine sand like marl down and then they put a very very thin layer of asphalt on top of it. So it doesn't take much for the road to mash up. It's crazy that we let them get away with this level of robbery and incompetence.
Maybe this scheme like many others are under private management but with the right representation through community groups I think they will be able to get help in funding proper roads. Nice community ❤
Very nice area ,but roads are terrible, as other people mentioned, it's all over, you will find estates like this ,would be such a beautiful place if infrastructure was better.
Typical Jamaica,,,Everybody knows who is to get the property taxes each year, or else. Nobody knows who is responsible for maintaining the roads...for decades now...
