Bride Dionne has been married before and tells how she was called fat and ugly in a bridal boutique back then. Her confidence has taken a big hit, and Dionne is overwhelmed by being back dress-shopping for her second marriage.

I love this series so much more than the other "Say Yes" programs b/c the brides aren't a bunch of whiny, pretentious princesses squealing "I'm so quirky & fashion-forward & special!" Instead, these are women with real insecurities & uncertainties, like we all have, whether it's about our appearance or some other feature. Jo & Al are amazing ladies who change the lives of their customers by giving them the chance to see themselves in a new light. Bravo to them!
I am sure a lot of it comes from how the directors and producers stage the other versions. It seems like they want to make it about the drama and not about the bride

Jo & Al and Gok are the best at getting into the mindset of the bride's and not just pushing their budget a bit (or a lot) more!! I feel that they all really help the brides find themselves as well as their dress 🥰

Every bridal shop needs a "Jo and Al" team. So many completely dismiss you if you arent going to buy the 1st of 2nd dress they show you RIGHT NOW. Rarely do they take the time to help you over any hurdles you may have.
And yet both of them have lost their excess weight as they hated being fat.

Both ladies lost weight for health reasons and are not in your face about the weight lost.
@@ZillasCoop Perhaps the point is that the "body positivity" movement enables bad health choices. They do not emphasize the size because they make money off the plus sized.

I don't know for sure, but I think that a divorce is something very painful and personal. Every time. And she had three of them! How can someone speak about it so easily as if bragging... I love her as a specialist, I really do!! but I find her a tough person.
P.S.English is not my native language, maybe I used wrong words to describe my surprise at what I saw and heard.
@@nadiakononenko6769 maybe not all of them were divorces, maybe deaths were involved. The mother of a friend has been married 3 times because her first 2 husbands died. And even if they were divorces, the best one can do is to move forward and see them as learning experiences. And I know, I've been divorced once
I think there should be more shows like this, promoting positive attitudes towards women of all shapes and sizes. We're not a one size fits all society and these ladies do an amazing job of making sure these brides see their own beauty
You do such a good job of revealing to your clients that one’s value does not come from your size, it comes from what’s inside and what makes you who you are.

I loved this episode, the bride was able to walk through her challenges and came out with a beautiful wedding dress and being very happy bride. Congratulations to the couple. Great job to 2 beautiful ladies.
That dress looked good on her the second time she tried it on. It must have been her lack of confidence the first time that made it look different somehow.
I know this episode is around ten years old, but I do hope they've had a good marriage in all that time, and that they're still going strong.

This is the best series by far! It makes me emotional to see these beautiful women find their dress. They glow in a way that is so inspiring and it is because of the environment and care Jo & Al create in the experience. Love this. She looks absolutely stunning!

When I went dress shopping for my 2nd wedding- I didn't have any girlfriends to go and my Mom lived far away.......I had picked an "ok" dress that was where I wanted to b for price and then there was a gorgeous dress that was SO far above my budget! I took my husband to be back w me and told the shop girl I needed to try them both on! He had gotten paid that morning- said "I don't need to see them" opened his wallet and set down the additional $300 he had received on his paycheck that morning and said "order her the dress she loves!" I had planned on spending 300- my dress was 600 (they were sweet and sold me the off the rack price for brand new!!!)
Yes, her chosen dress looks wonderful on her and she in it. Her husband-to-be is a gem.

there is a reason why I love Jo and Al so much. It's not about a sale with them, it's about a vision. Helping women see themselves in a new light, past the boundaries we so ofter create for ourselves. I am a widow, but if I were to ever marry again, I would hope to have someone like them to help me on that day!

he doesn't just say she looks good in anything she wears , he really means it, most guys say it then turn around and look at butt pics online but when he says it, it seems very genuine and from the heart...
i had a very similar experience to dionne. no real emotional connection to my dress, i just picked it cause i could get it cheap online. i tried it on in-store and while they didn't make me feel fat, they didn't really give me any guidance one way or the other, and because i didn't spring for petticoats i looked like i was smuggling a monster truck tire under my dress. i don't think i'll ever have an opportunity to buy another dress so i'll settle for supporting my daughter whenever she ends up buying hers.

Yay! So happy for her! I had a failed marriage and put so much time and effort into the first wedding. It made me so sad. My second marriage we had to rush a bit because I was pregnant and my mom was mad at me ... She forbid me from getting a pretty white dress..I was kind of heart broken but I did marry the love my life and we have been married 10 years and have 4 beautiful kids together. But sometimes I wish I could have had a nice dress and a nicer wedding to share those memories with him. ❤️☺️
