The rap game really is a fatherless story. Like nobody with a good relationship with their dad is surprised by any of this. It's always these single mom raised or poor father relationships type of guys. It's this viticm turned excuses. This shit is sad in 2022 dudes really in gangs. We got about 20-30 years of the shit being early death and jail. But it's crash dummies that ran into the brick wall 100 times an then go recruit the youth to do the same.
There are also plenty of conscious rappers who grew up in the same circumstances, but most of them are not mainstream to people who only follow what mainstreams feeds them. Yes a father plays a vital role 90% of the time but the problem is most people allow their circumstances to control them without not even knowing they have full control of their circumstances and control it. Example of this is a knew a guy who grew up in a dysfunctional family where his parents were both drug addicts two of his brother were in an out of prison, but this guy never did drugs or alcohol and yet he was a straight a student, and im not making this up.
Its also bigger than just fathers, thought its important, but also a combo of what black cultures we are talking about as well as knowing how to control your circumstances. "The secret to success is learning how to use pain and pleasure, instead of having it use you. If you do that youre in control of your life, if you dont life controls you.
But Math is wrong and he knows he's wrong. Rapping about your crimes will always come back against you if prosecutors have direct evidence of a crime you committed.
Hell, homeboy basically agreed with Vlad, he jus didn’t know he did. When he got the info on the guy he was rapping against and said how they gonna use RICO on gang members.
Math Hoffa is another example of very intelligent person that’s able clearly articulate their view but choose to stand on the wrong side. These people are the one who are keeping the community in the dark.
Math hit the nail on the head at the end!!! When are these major record labels going to be liable for giving record contracts (funding) to rappers that allegedly run criminal organizations? Ya'll don't think the record labels know about their activities and associates before giving them millions of dollars?
Usually there not a crimal organization in till the get the money to fund it. Can't be organized broke its not like they signing made men or heads of gangs
@chino e i think math agree with vlad cause he rapper about that in the round vs Geechi Gotti but Math was playing devils advocate to keep the dialogue going. good conversation
Math was so wrong in this conversation because I remember as a kid listening I did not care if an artist was actually living his lyrics … I just love the music, the beats the wordplay the clothes the jewelry…. Perfect example I loved Lil Wayne coming up & we all knew Lil Wayne wasn’t living his lyrics (as far as the gangster part) but he was from the hood & made good music, that’s all that mattered. Kids & teenagers don’t care if a rapper is living a gangster lifestyle only grown people do. So Math can’t put this on the younger generation
Because you’re a weirdo and laughing about it…you’re sick and you need real mental help. I feel sorry for your mother and kids if you have em. You need to be investigated
Ultimately it’s a ploy to lock up as many black men as possible but we also have to do better by not playing self d (defense). We have to start holding ourselves more accountable for our word & actions!! As you were
Don’t do the crimes if you can’t do the time. If it was lyrics people like brotha Lynch and others would have been burned at the stake. Grow up. Thug isn’t a victim except to his choices
POWER OF LIFE & DEATH in the tongue… 🗣James 3:5 “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” Their lyrics started a fire, that they can’t put out… 🔥
Imagine rapping about crimes that you actually commit and then say "I'm being targeted" These guys be super tough on record then go to jail and turn bitch.

@@WhyBotherTwice right. I was gonna ask what hardcore evidence does the prosecution have? Innocent until proven guilty means it’s not what the state thinks, or what the state says… it’s what they can prove.
@@jordanwilson3120 but the majority of wiretaps came after, and are only being corroborated with the lyrics even the wiretaps before the arrest dont work without the lyrics
He still wants to make it in that industry. You think he’s going to burn bridges by using logic and common sense. The sad part is that he actually believes the bs he was saying. You’re not going to hear 1 rapper saying lyrics should be used even if they’re describing a real crime like an idiot
If a prosecutor has evidence of a crime being committed then present that evidence and let the jury decide based on the actual evidence. There is no reason why they need to be playing songs for the jury "as evidence" because a song is not evidence, its art.
Exactly. Also, the comparison to Arnold Swartzanager was completely different. An actor in a movie shoots that movie, goes home, and sits the fuck down. Al Pacino has never said that he really DOES everything he did in Scarface. He doesn't get on Social Media, in interviews and in podcasts flashing guns, saying he really does 100 million dollar drug deals in Columbia, he's really running a drug cartel, and that all the crimes he committed in the movie are crimes he's REALLY COMMITTING in REAL LIFE. Hoffa is just arguing for the sake of arguing in this interview. I refuse to believe even HE believes his side of the argument.
Arguing against a person's lyrics being used against them in court, ignores the fact that they may be confessing to crimes and murders in their music and they are a danger to society (black communities in particular). You can't hide a murder confession in your lyrics as a means to give yourself immunity. What about the victims and the families of the victims you are mentioning in your lyrics? Do they not deserve justice for what was done to them or their family? If it's just entertainment, then you have to admit that you're just an actor playing a role. But, in that case you lose the advantage of believability. But, if you're willing to tell the truth to maintain your believability, then you need to be willing to be held accountable for the crimes you're confessing to. You can't have it both ways.
Vlad saying “and you can say that’s not fair we’ll guess what, life ain’t fair” lol but ideally in the court of law it’s supposed to be fair. (even if it’s not that way)Why would you be openly supporting a law that you yourself say isn’t fair because “life isn’t fair”. All you have to prove is that hiphop as an art form and an industry has lyrics about crimes someone has done, someone they know has done, exaggerated crimes or just straight up lies and that the nature of the industry is that they are all indistinguishable from each other.
@@harri8162 but I’m white too and still think it’s bullshit. That’s no excuse. If you have enough evidence to link the crime to the persons lyric you should have enough evidence to not need to use the lyric as evidence
@@Watdjndbdb yeah man...and if you listened to the video properly...vlad said that they have more evidence than just lyrics in a song...like a wire tap..and social media messages...etc..ON TOP of a song lyric that supports the claims...so if that's not enough to land you in a jail cell AT LEAST until a proper interrogation can be done...you must be very ignorant..
technically not suppose to be "fair" because that's a subjective term but it is suppose to be consistent. That's why they mainly go off precedent of previous courses
The rappers are commercials, the og’s are the recruiters, and the youth are the new enlistees signing up for the prison industrial complex. Its not about “art”…its a racket!
So for those that believe rap lyrics should not be used how would you feel when a racist opens fire on a black church and then makes some heavy metal song boasting about it and not get charged??
For those who compare Rap Music to Movies the difference is Actors don’t claim to be that character in real life, but rappers claim to be living their lyrics in real life.
It kills me when rappers compare themselves to movie stars and news reporters lol. If movie stars claim to be about that life, screams gang gang, have people around them who are criminals, and we see actors and news reporters getting killed left and right as a result, demands others movie stars check in their city, etc. then they may have an solid argument.
It's amazing to see Math forgo common sense in pursuit of a failed stance on the topic. I can understand why he would. If rappers have to be more honest about their "street life" record sales would drop. But it sounds like he, and other that are of the same opinion, are fighting for the right to lie in the music while saying they're keeping it real. Someone should tell Math that wire taps+ ex friends giving evidence doesn't = music. It equals 23 & 1
I feel the same way ppl don’t think with common sense .. I think police be on BS but they do help , if no police was in this country from now on NOBODY would want to live in this country .. including the gangs that say they hate them
The thing that I feel gets overlooked the most is the fact that as people we consume this trash that gets people locked up or keeps them living a lifestyle that is poisonous to not only them but their community. I feel like what needs to happen is a change in what we consume so that people don’t think they have to be about it and talk about it to make a profit, and can make a way for more positive influence to dominate the culture and be profitable
Vlad, even if you write your own lyrics, there is still poetic license. Poetry is written in the first person perspective all the time. That doesn't mean that person did all those things. Did Bob Marley really shoot the sheriff? No, it's poetry. His character did it in a piece of storytelling art that he created. Rap is the same way.
If the sheriff is then found shot dead in real life and the murder is somehow linked to Bob Marley. It would kinda make sense for the prosecutor to use this song as evidence, no?
@@aogunye Well, that depends... was the deputy shot, as well? Because he made it clear that he didn't do that in song form. The problem with using the song as evidence is that it restricts free speech in art and it can cause confirmation bias, which is a fallacy. Someone could be using that song to frame Bob Marley.
Watching Rappers try to make excuses and justify B.S Is like watching a case study on cognitive dissonance. Some of these rappers have the same mindset of Amber Heard.
Keep it a g . I don’t think niggas need to throw away that gang shit but actually utilize those gangs for what they were used for . Protection of the black community. No set tripping no beefing we all stand together. But niggas don’t think bout that
During WW2 painters and poets were being arrested for their art. Their painting and poetry expressed their political views and disgust with the party in power. So art has always been used to implicate artist in crimes...
4:41-6:21 Well the writers of these movies should be locked up too for that fact. What if what they're writing about is true? 🤷🏾♀️ We can just say what they're writing about they did. It don't have to be true, but if we're going to use rappers lyrics against them and it may not be true they may as well do it to writers of movie scripts as well. We know damn well that wouldn't be fair so this isn't fair. 🤷🏾♀️💯 They're saying they wrote the lyrics, they're not saying I did this for real.
Arnold is a white man so, he is not going to held accountable for his lyrics and they are not even checking these white artists to see what if they did it or not. That is the discrepancy between whites and blacks.Rock,Metal etc..They have murder lyrics in it but because they are white, No one si checking to see if those are actual lyrics for crimes. They are actively searching to see if any lyrics said by us are true so, they could use it against us.Most of the time, the lyrics that they do play in trial, has nothing to do with the actual crime the rappers is in trial for but they play those lyrics in court to alter or sway the mind of jury. That is racist and unjust.Unless those lyrics point to an actual crime, they should be inadmissiable just like any other evidence that could be bias in a decision against a rapper.
Bob Marley once said " I shot the Sheriff but I did NOT shoot the deputy"...Should that lyric be used against Bob Marley?? How about Johnny Cash's lyrics?? Willie Nelson, Marilyn Manson's lyrics ?? I can keep going all day with this......FACTS 💯

The real motive is they trying to control Rappers and the black communities. More white fake rappers, control and change the behavior of the black communities no loud music in car "ticket", Cancel Airbnb parties, kill more rappers/lock them up, emasculate the black man and black people to prevent them from getting money and living a high life. Telling the story instead of living the story.. powerful
"Telling their story" is a lame excuse, we've had 30 years of this. WE SEE IT ISN'T WORKING. It's influencing the youth and it influences the culture. It's promotion of a cancerous culture. Rap is a PSYPOS for the prison industrial complex at this point.

@@therealjohncena760 stop reaching. It’s a terrible argument. The movies are fictional stories. Rappers are pushing a narrative and story of their real life. It’s all about them. When Christian Bale plays Batman, that doesn’t mean he is telling the tale of his life as Batman, or Arnold swarzennegar is the terminator a robot from the future. It sounds so unbelievably stupid to say that. The judge will realize why you committed those crimes if you say shit that dumb.
@@ramseyshehadeh2914 bro said “Actors” meaning more than one person. So therefore with research you can find at least one person that definitely got into character outside of movies. Thats just one place to start
Dude is a dummy
@@Cashmere__ I’m not wasting my time researching shit that only requires a bit of common sense. How about you maintain your point of view, commit your crimes, rap about it, then tell the judge about your sob story of actors getting away with similar offences. See how well that works out for you. Opinionated fact? How about you don’t like the truth and that’s why you called my fact an opinion. People don’t like this take because they want to commit crimes, rap about it, get glory for it, get paid for it, and face no consequences. Guess what? I want a house like Drake and a gold toilet to shit in but it ain’t gonna happen, so stop reaching for something you have no chance of getting.
Exactly!!!! Prreeeaaacchhh!!
Well the youth want to be recruited…and the og losers find purpose/pleasure/pride in that.
Great mention about “fatherless story”.
I like how you put that

Math was so wrong in this conversation because I remember as a kid listening I did not care if an artist was actually living his lyrics … I just love the music, the beats the wordplay the clothes the jewelry…. Perfect example I loved Lil Wayne coming up & we all knew Lil Wayne wasn’t living his lyrics (as far as the gangster part) but he was from the hood & made good music, that’s all that mattered.

If they may be then they may not be

Vlad saying “and you can say that’s not fair we’ll guess what, life ain’t fair” lol but ideally in the court of law it’s supposed to be fair. (even if it’s not that way)Why would you be openly supporting a law that you yourself say isn’t fair because “life isn’t fair”. All you have to prove is that hiphop as an art form and an industry has lyrics about crimes someone has done, someone they know has done, exaggerated crimes or just straight up lies and that the nature of the industry is that they are all indistinguishable from each other.
Not his people he don’t care. He just here to eat off them 🤷🏽♂️
@@harri8162 but I’m white too and still think it’s bullshit.

So for those that believe rap lyrics should not be used how would you feel when a racist opens fire on a black church and then makes some heavy metal song boasting about it and not get charged??
What can you do about it I’m sure it’s has happened b4
For those who compare Rap Music to Movies the difference is Actors don’t claim to be that character in real life, but rappers claim to be living their lyrics in real life.
It kills me when rappers compare themselves to movie stars and news reporters lol. If movie stars claim to be about that life, screams gang gang, have people around them who are criminals, and we see actors and news reporters getting killed left and right as a result, demands others movie stars check in their city, etc. then they may have an solid argument.

Someone should tell Math that wire taps+ ex friends giving evidence doesn't = music. It equals 23 & 1

If you are doing your music thing you shouldn't be in the street like that
The thing that I feel gets overlooked the most is the fact that as people we consume this trash that gets people locked up or keeps them living a lifestyle that is poisonous to not only them but their community.

The real difference between Arnold and young thug is no one actually dies from Arnold’s movies
