Hi everyone!!! It has been a HOT (and I really mean cold winter) minute since I last posted but there has been A LOT going on! I am SO excited to be bringing to you all my lazy girl’s guide to creating a walk in wardrobe with the Ikea closet system. I literally cover my ENTIRE process (including a wonderful couple of hiccups (floods) throughout the process) to show you that even if you don’t know how to use a screwdriver , you TOO can have the wardrobe of your dreams!
It just so happened that I end up using both the Aurdal and Pax system for my walk in, so definitely let me know if you want a detailed comparison of the two. I HIGHLY recommend you going into/contacting an Ikea to help you whip up a design. Having an idea based on a prebuilt design will definitely help you, but after that they will help you piece together EXACTLY what you need :)

IKEA PAX is definitely much higher quality than IKEA AURDAL
I installed dark gray AURDAL wardrobe combinations in 2 reach-in closets & painted the inside first with the same dark gray by bringing a drawer front to Home Depot for them to match, which makes a world of difference in aesthetics.
Two other hacks I am considering for big difference in making the AURDAL look not so cheap is adding base boards to cover the legs & adding handles (possibly from IKEA's SEKTION line because their kitchen cabinets are the best quality compared to all other IKEA collections)

I like the hacks!! I was so tired of waiting for all the parts by the time I got them all I decided it was enough haha

@@callmeextra Yeah, I feel you on the waiting... I just got 40" tall IKEA SEKTION kitchen wall cabinets in the matte black KUNGSBACKA anthracite to use for home office storage and the shelves have not in stock for months and there is no ETA... so for now I'm stuck with straight 40" of internal heigh inside which is obviously too tall to be fully usable.

How long did it take you to get the suspension rods for the aurdal? I’m wondering if I even want to purchase the rest of the mounting piece will be months to get in stock. I enjoyed your video!

I actually didn’t have any issues getting my suspension rod! But here’s my tips (because I went through A LOT of stock issues)
1. Sign up for their email alerts and do multiple stores if they are close by
2. Check on the detail page if it says when it “may be back” and check first thing that morning (I got a lot of pieces before I got an email alert)
3. If you go in store they can give you an estimate of when they SHOULD receive and typically it’s not far off. They may not get a bunch of pieces but you should be able to get what you need
