Dude... way back in the day on Newgrounds you gave me some tips on higher quality sprites from Maplestory. Most of the comments on my video were hateful or rude, but instead you gave me advice and encouragement, and then wished me luck on my path in animation. I've never forgotten that, and now that I'm involved in TH-cam full-time I still keep that in mind when I help new content creators. Thanks for that, and I'm happy to see you're still kicking. Maple is like an idle game that you need to be there for the entire time to grind. Then the endgame is way too simple for the time investment. Maybe it's just something that can't be avoided with a 2d mmo, idk. If people wanna spend 500 hours to press one button in zakum and call that fun then more power to them

Korean here. I remember that in the early this year, Mapleland dev decided to region locked because there are too many cheaters in the game. Because Mapleworld is not offering crazy anti cheat engine like former game client, they just solved by making the game only available to people sign in with korean account. It was bit frustrating because I know several foreign players before they decided that. Yet, for longevity of the game it was inevitable
I should’ve mentioned this in the video. Extremely valid point, and I think Mapleland is doing the right thing for their core audience (Korea). I’m ok to be patient, but it’s a bummer a lot of people in America are not. 🤣

Holy shit I think i remember you!!! I seem to be one of the few that isn't just interested in osms. I want some fangames similar to maplestory as I love the assets so much. I even made sprite comics and a few flashes with them as a kid.

@NIDAK2147 it is though. People that waited 15 years for this due to nexons incompetence and or stubbornness, I feel bad. Could have already lived out the full experience again 10 times over, and not in a flash game like mapleworlds is.
I never played Maple, but mostly because my childhood was already spent playing a different KRMMO that went down a very similar path of decline. Today, I'm currently creating a reimagined vanilla version of that game. But regardless of the game, we all feel the same and had similar experiences in these games. I'm looking forward to Maple Land, I'd be thrilled to try it out!

It was my first MMO in 2007 and it featured a lot of interesting systems like for example you choose a main class, but the subclasses are an equip-type item that can be further individualized, upgraded and traded.

@@spritefan2 My little brother and my students all got into Friday Night Funkin', so there was a huge resurgence when it came to StepMania in the past few years lmao. I mostly just play DDR/ITG on feet nowadays, but still a scrub. :P
I'm really hoping ArisWorld comes to the west as well I really liked the system. It's pretty underrated in the west really no one knows about it.. but It's also a great high rate server. That is unique with custom systems and fun bossing.

Totally. Yeah, unsure if January both I hope early next year. The good news is that I think things will only be better by the time an official launch comes.
My laptop friggin crashes at 80% when loading into anything, and there is no official App Store launch yet, and even if I could download it they have jailbreak detection so I can’t even play since I’m on a phone that’s still on iOS 14, but it is compatible, I can load the app up for 10 seconds before it detects my jailbreak and crashes the app.
Artale isn't it for me.. not to sound like a hater it's just Maple Royals and Maple Legends both offer a way better experience. I have characters on both of those servers. I'll wait for a better server to come out. I'd like to see it do well though to draw attention to the game.
Nah it’s cool, in my video I totally acknowledged that sentiment to pass on Artale is fair! P servers aren’t really my thing tho, so I’ll just be patient on the MSW side.
Is mapleland able to have more than 50 players playing on a current world? To me that's the most important part of it. If it can't I'd rather play a private server.
No - 50 is the limit in Mapleland. But chillendev who I gave a shoutout to in the video was able to increase the limit to 1k per channel. I was thinking of doing another video about more of the details and specifics for future servers, but I’ll wait till they are closer to release.

I mean, I think either side of the argument is speculative, but I’d say a host is probably less inclined to take anything down because there’s no cost for them - Nexon is paying for all of the servers. But I agree that there is more risk involved in something like this, versus Nexon doing an OSMS server themselves. But at the same time, I think what we have with MSW is much better than a private server which is at risk of C&D.
Nexon only cares about one thing. Money. So if any of the old school servers get very popular on worlds, there is an high chance they would do it themselves oficialy.
Yea, it’s not a true 1 to 1 recreation and maybe I should’ve gotten into more detail. But it is the most official thing players have for re experiencing old maple.

I never played dress to impress but my friends said that what we played was a more scuffed version of it.
They are doing everything but bringing back Maplestory 2. But at least we got the goat spritefan2 back so that's a win.

Artale isn't it for me.. not to sound like a hater it's just Maple Royals and Maple Legends both offer a way better experience. I have characters on both of those servers.
I'll wait for a better server to come out. I'd like to see it do well though to draw attention to the game.

P servers aren’t really my thing tho, so I’ll just be patient on the MSW side.
Is mapleland able to have more than 50 players playing on a current world? To me that's the most important part of it. If it can't I'd rather play a private server.
No - 50 is the limit in Mapleland. But chillendev who I gave a shoutout to in the video was able to increase the limit to 1k per channel. I was thinking of doing another video about more of the details and specifics for future servers, but I’ll wait till they are closer to release.

@spritefan2 but if the host ever decides to end their world or stops maintaining it you dont have anything to show for your time there
@@Buffy111000 ah yeah - that’s true. I mean, I think either side of the argument is speculative, but I’d say a host is probably less inclined to take anything down because there’s no cost for them - Nexon is paying for all of the servers.
But I agree that there is more risk involved in something like this, versus Nexon doing an OSMS server themselves. But at the same time, I think what we have with MSW is much better than a private server which is at risk of C&D.
