This takes me back. I used to play Maplestory during elementary school, and it was way before the Big Bang patch happened. Leveling was slow but the overall experience was so magical. Years later I tried playing it again after the Big Bang patch, however didn't feel the same. Maybe I just got older.
Me too, I used to play in 2007 when Tiger was walking around. This new game is completely foreign to me.
I played it decades ago when it was simple and charming.
When I tried to come back, it's now filled with huge amount of unnecessary features and elements making it a huge mess that I cannot enjoy.
I played during beta and up until leeching became a huge issue, I miss this game dearly to this day and im almost 30!
game got better and those who played it as a kid didn't get the same experience these days

Scrolling gear is one of my favorite game mechanics in an MMO tbh. When you see a godly item it really means something
same but i think the problem is the success rates for anything in this game are straight up rigged
4:10 I always called it the dice at the start of the game is nexon communicating that this is a gambling game. Ppl didn't even see it that way but that's literally what maplestory is
These scrolls made it clear to me from an early age that I wasn't a gambler and also that lady luck wants nothing to do with me.

30% scrolls were always my go to in OSMS. That +20% chance made godly items more attainable but the 50% boom made it more spicy. Nothing quite like blowing up your perfect +3 item that is worth half a bil

I truly don't understand how people can enjoy watching those over the top game streamers. Whether in Korea or any country, when the streamer just YELLS the whole time it's a no from me. I much prefer calmer, measured narration.

God i hate scrolling so much. Especially in maplestory. It feels like the rate is 25-50% less than what it says. Like 30% scrolls feel like they're 20-15% instead. It was so much work that I tried to ignore it for a very large part of the time. But of course, instead, I did cosmetic RNG 🤠

What was that probability in the beginning??? 2.x% to succeed 7 10%s in a row sounds fine, but what did the 95% failure rate refer to? It can't be the failure rate for a single 10% scroll because that's obviously 90%. It can't be failing multiple 10%s in a row because the rate would decrease below 90% failure for each consecutive scroll. So what does the 95% refer to???

One time i landed SEVEN 60% weapon attack scrolls in a row (peak of my life). Nostalgia is big on this video. But when you say 100% attack scrolls are barely worth using idk if i agree. I was a poor noob all of my maplestory career, i could never have really afforded 7attack work gloves, so if i could add +7 attack to my weapon for like 300k thats a huge damage boost in 2007. Just a thought
