    My best memories as a kid, were exploring abandoned things. Now, much of that has been covered with suburban sprawl, including a lot of woods. I live in Bucks County, PA, and there are still plenty of woods left. Thanks for Sharing! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    It will never cease to amaze me that people feel they must tarnish everything up with colourful paint. The paint makes it look like an eyesore. This mine reminds me a bit of the Kimberley Diamond Mine in South Africa. It's a huge hole in the ground and is filled at the bottom with water. Anyway, I enjoyed watching your video and hearing how you were able to climb down the mine back in the 70's. It certainly doesn't look very safe now. I also enjoyed your drone footage and was mesmerised at how small your shapes looked inside those round things (whatever they are).
    I hope you had a great weekend and I wish you a great week ahead. (^_^)
    Take care now.
    Kind regards.
    Liz.

I really wanted to fly over the open pit mine but.....when I shot this video I had only owned my drone for about a month and I was still learning to fly it and I was very apprehensive about losing my drone in the pit and not being able to recover it. I am a lot more comfortable flying my drone now and maybe next spring I'll fly it down into the pit and see what is down there.

      Interesting! The reason I asked, a small town I once lived in, there was an abandoned gold mine. A friend and I used to go exploring there, plinking with our .22 rifles, and such. There were pools and streams of water that were swimming pool blue. Story had it that arsenic used to separate the gold from dirt back in the early 1900's was the cause of the blue color. No fish and no plants grew in the blue water. This was early 1980's.

      The land owner originally planned to do just that and build a residential community, but this was nixed after the real estate collapse of 2008. The land is contaminated and requires extensive cleanup to do anything with it. For a while, this area was pretty distant from everything else but now it is adjacent from other newer big communities nearby being built so you can probably bet money this tract will get developed in the next decade.

      No secret. This area is only about 400 yards from a very busy road but unless you know it's there then you would never expect something this large to be so close. Every summer thousands of people headed out to Lake Mead drive right past this area and 99% of them don't even know it's there.

    As co-workers and myself used to say to each other when meeting in areas of questionable safety while off-duty, "I hope you both have your "💩" with you", when out in those desolate places.
    As a side note, have you ever encountered any ghosts or spiritual activity in these remote excursions?

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trust me, we are always well protected when exploring areas like this. I don't know if we have ever encountered ghosts or spiritual activity but we have heard strange noises and observed shadows and movements while exploring, especially in old underground mines.

      Good! Glad to hear that you do!
      Interesting on the mines! If/when you are fortunate enough to capture that kind of activity on video, I would love to see it posted. I used to wonder if such was real or not. Then, at the tender age of 29 I had my first (of many) encounters. Thankfully, none of mine were hostile or evil, but I understand such are out there.
      Keep up the great videos and stay safe!

      How do you propose to get strategic minerals? Manganese is an important metal used to strengthen steel, it was vital in WWII. That site, while not pretty, is a minuscule part of Nevada. Evidently some people have made some use of it since the mining ceased. Until now I was totally unaware of it, now that I know my reaction, and my desire to "fix" it is the same as before I knew of it, nil.
