This is nothing new, the team that made Xenoblade 1 helped make Pandora's Tower after all, which was about getting your girlfriend to eat monster hearts to save her life.

So Galea also was split in two. Half became Meyneth and the other half...well you see here. That's tragic

Meyneth's death and how she couldn't defeat Zanza kind of makes sense with this theory, Meyneth was being outpowered by Zanza because she was being killed by Rex's group, either that or she foresaw her own demise in Rex's universe and thus chose not to face him "like a god". When Infernal Guldo dies, she too begins to fade, using the last of herself to save Shulk's group.
But that's just my speculation.

This boss wiped out my entire party with his Elemental Bomb, but he then died after doing it.
I thought I lost but then Rex and everyone suddenly stood up then bam cutscene transition.

@@catalyst539 No, that's Galea's ID Card. Granted, it could just be reuse of assets, but that seems like a pretty specific thing to just reuse for no reason.

Being Meyneth a machina, my theory is the only part of Galea which was transferred to the new world was her brain, and her old body remained in the old world.
The guldo might be the result of Klaus trying to revive Galea's body with core crystals. Remember, every action taken by Klaus was doomed to failure.
The card Rex picks up is Klaus’, it’s different from Galea/Meyneth’s when seeing the Orbit Station cutscene.

This boss literally took me 45 minutes in my first attempt to kill. I was lucky enough to kill it before it could use elemental bomb the second time, even without awakened pyra, but the amount of health this thing has isn’t even funny.
roobix cubix took me 10 mins lol. I got three orbs on him, ascended Pyra/Mythra then chain attacked. Ascended pyra/mythra be OP
William Knight I wasted ascended pyra/mythra at the start so yeah.
The amount of HP it has is more than (I think) Aion does. Which is MAD.

I have no clue how I did it, but I somehow got Tora to survive an elemental bomb..Nearly lost that fight but I managed to push through
How did you do so much damage at 16:53 ?! He always one-shots me with his Elemental Bomb when I do a chain-attack and I have to start over again
His hp just melts in a chain attack once you have some orbs on him...did you have any? I Full bursted him with a 4 chain combo and his hp bar disappeared before I even got my 3rd chain off...
I died lots of times before I finally chain combo'd him just as soon as I saw element bomb on the screen.
It used elemental bomb, at the same time as he attacked it. Elemental bomb destroys half of their hp, but is very strong. In a chain attack, you can't be attacked or hurt, so he didn't take damage, but the boss still lost it's health.

ok but what if you died the first time before the cutscene happened with nia/tora/zeke/morag and you can't get infernal guldo to half health because the party gauge won't charge fast enough?
KirkDerp you have to start over, and get it to that point.
Wonder what this means. Why is this the Fog King? Like why this monster in particular.
Only thing that makes this creature unique, is that it is carrying Galea's ID tag. The connection is never explained, but it could be important, since its somehow related to Meyneth.
@@jaegerbravely8869 Supposedly the human counterpart of Galea is her dark half in opposition to Zanza being the dark half & Klaus being the light half. She supposedly participated and was even the reason for these experiments creating these monsters in the end.

I was thinking the same, that woman on the ID-Card looks similar to her, but sadly the picture has such a low resolution, that it is difficult to tell.

wait I thought the female assistant was the same as the one in the first game? if so, this is either wrong, because Galea became Meyneth in XC1, *or*, she could've been split in two like Klaus (giving more credibility to the fact that she survived and also got god powers while remaining benevolent in XC1) and her other half, or just her body, turned into this boss.
The Reason His Hp Melts together with the last chain attack is because he uses it while the Guldo is charging it's Elemental bomb, it deals 999999 dmg
I did it by accident and came back and watched the video and was like "oh okay that was supposed to happen" haha

i have a funny story about this boss. when i was facing the first phase i was fighting like normal doing kinda well, then like 3 minutes in jin just fucking destroyed it with his heavenly disrupt. maybe they forgot to give this thing smash resistance??
for "elemental bomb" just chain attack just before he uses it, it should still damage him and not do damage to you
Extraordinarily confused right now... I did a 3 elemental orb chain attack combo, broke all of them, got like 4 rounds of free attacks but still did only 686k by the end of it, which was not enough to take this Infernal shit down. Not sure why it did so little damage compared to what was demonstrated in the 2 orb chain attack in tis video, but I won regardless due to the boss self destructing while my team somehow took no damage thus ending the fight.
I think that's how you are supposed to beat it, let it self destruct and survive it thanks to the chain attack, or with Pyra's new form
Chain attacks are based on auto attack damage. Auto-attack damage increase with higher trust. So this person’s Roc must be S-S+ trust for this much damage to happen. That’s why it’s important to max out your blade’s affinity chart.

The blade combos also place an elemental orb on the target. A target can only have one orb of each element at a time. Shattering the orb during a chain attack will net you an extra round for it.

it used a suicide attack but before it could explode but after it started using it he was doing a chain attack which makes the party invincible
I stacked liked 4 orbs and then did a chain attack, got a full burst, and ended up dealing a total of 4.8 million damage lmao, all at lvl 54, so I was underlevelled too
I was asking myself the same thing. I was having trouble with this battle since I’m not used to using the Chain, once I activated it, i used an attack just using Brighid & bam! he was automatically dead at half health.
I assume there's context as to why Brighid was with Rex this chapter instead of being with Morag, and I also assume there's a reason Jin specifically called out to Brighid at the end.
Rex meets up with Brighid, Poppi and Jin after the previous boss fight because everyone is separated.
During this period, Brighid confronts Jin regarding her past life as a blade as she used to be a part of Addam's crew and only had a journal telling her this.
So a human can be hafe blade if you eat a human am I wrong or right
