Lovely knives. What would make the purchase more special to me would be some kind of provenance. I would love to know where the Bog Oak came from, where it was found etc. And what exactly qualifies as Bog Oak, how old does it have to be? As it is sold on a 'romantic' idea of being ancient wood it would be nice to know more about it. There are a number of manufacturers using it but there can surely only be a limited supply so I'm surprised prices are not higher. By the way I'm not questioning the authenticity of the AW's just curious to know more about the sourcing of the wood as it adds to the pride of ownership.👍

I'm pretty sure it is supplied by a friend of Eric's. Ask him, he has more information, I believe. If you want a knife with lots of history, check out Böker's Schloss Burg line. They're made of floorboard oak from a castle!

Hey, what would you recommend the Boker stockman in bog wood or the trapper Castle Burg? I can’t make up my mind between those two… love both your channels! Sorry for double posting, would appreciate your input

No problem! I personally much prefer the Stockman as a pattern. Regardless, the quality would likely be the same. Which is to say, perfect. It's really up to you. I love the Castle Burg series, as they are small pieces of history on your knife, but the shape and style of Bog Oak is much nicer, to me, at least. I wish I could be more helpful, but I guess it comes down to this: Historical handle VS Ancient handle. Light wood VS Dark wood. And of course, slender pattern, or chunky. I hope I could help!
      -Just buy them both-
      Cheers!
