Tens is perfectly safe and can be a life saver when experiencing debilitating muscular and nerve pain. But I’d recommend buying a normal unit (with the replaceable pads) from a reputable company.

  • @Werevampiwolf
    @Werevampiwolf 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Heads up for TENS units: I use the normal kind regularly and it specifically says to be extremely careful with using it on the neck because it can cause the throat to spasm and make you choke or having a hard time breathing. Also, the higher settings are for people with nerve damage. You should always start at the lowest setting and go up on tiny increments, and if you can crank it up and not feel like you're being electrocuted, either it's not making contact correctly or you have severe nerve damage. Like, paralysis-level nerve damage. I never go higher than 4 out of 10 on mine.

The right tens units are absolutely amazing, it's literally the only thing that will help my back when it goes out.. I used to go to the chiropractor and do massage therapy etc when it went out and It could take upwards of 2 weeks before I was functioning properly again, the tens unit will get me back to normal in a day sometimes 2.

      I love my TENS!
I'm super curious about the one for the neck. I've never been able to use any TENS unit on my neck because the neck muscles are small but strong, so they immediately lock up with each pulse.

I have Progressive MS and my tens unit is a must.. the muscle spasms (MS hug ) especially around the ribs are immensely painful and if both sides spasm at the same time you truly can't breath or stand up straight from the pain. I have several units in different places for this specific reason.

The first and second ones can be a hazard to people with long hair :'D I have something similar to 3rd and 4th. You should use 3rd on a moist skin (prefferably through the wet towel), I like to use wet paper towel. And you should start from the lowest setting and go up until you feel pain, and then turn it down to a moment when you don't feel pain anymore. It's actually pretty nice when you have problems with your joints. But I love massagers like the 4th. it can give you the force on your neck "hand massagers" cannot

trying to save some people from having the same experience I did. I have a shiatsu neck massager with heat that I absolutely love.
Unfortunately its cover is made with the ever popular trash called vegan leather aka TPU. The massager works great but after having a few yrs & storing gently on a closet shelf after storing in box 1st 2 yrs, the cover is a peeling mess that sheds tpu dust everywhere & if I want to use it, I have a good 15 min clean up afterwards & its also now stored in a bag to keep the cover from shedding everywhere.
Do yourself a favor & avoid vegan leather at all costs as u will have to toss whatever the product is due to its failure & the wastefulness of this material is actually anti green. Also mine was from Amazon & wasn't cheap

Apparently James has never had a deep tissue massage. It tends to be uncomfortable to painful when done, but such a relief afterwards when all the knots are gone. I doubt any of these devices do a proper deep tissue massage. But discomfort doesn't automatically mean a bad massage.

The quality of this one seems pretty much the same, on Temu. What is your experience with them? As in price, quality, and shipping compared?
I have a few neck massagers, including the first one and it does pinch, i found if you put a little arnica oil on your neck first it helps a lot. Also, pull it apart to stretch the arms lowering the clamping sensation. It needs to be broken in quite a bit, like new boots. Still just a cheap product that is just a little better than nothing.

the occasional pin prick you said you felt was probably the electrical contacts coming loose from the skin or touching a part of the contact with no gel on. (I'm a TENS user for my back).

Thank you so much for torturing yourself so that we do not have to! 😂

9:12 😂😂 That facial expression. I see how painful it's supposed to be. Imagine Crazy Russian Hacker/Taras Kul putting those massagers to the test and feeling the same pain as a fail. Yeah I don't know if Temu is typically worth it, I don't know who would come up with that. But definitely avoid testing Temu gadgets in general, because they may not be in great shape, if I'm not wrong about that. Those products are *wa wa waaa.*

Probably a comment from left field, but I got the sense that you had the tens unit upside down.

The first neck massager, you need to have short(er) hair, or risk of getting hair tangled in the rollers.

I've had pads that shock your muscles, and I got a good TENS neck massager too.
I used both of these once, and never touched them again.

Please keep in mind a Tens unit is NOT a massager. It's a medical device.

Electric stimulator seems to be the very opposite of a massage lol but I wouldn't know.
I'll just use my hands or a heating pad, hot shower, or something else. XD I like the squeezer one.
Who knows though, the TENS sounds promising. I have bad computer neck and lower back problems.

I tried one similar to the last one you used and it felt good whilst using it but afterwards my muscles were so sore. I think I used it to long or something lol.

I used to have to get epidurals in my lower back and they hurt like hell but after that I would definitely feel better for a few days

I think you had it right mentioning the cheapness factor. I've seen similar massagers work because they flex and have nice beads with great rolling action, but the ones you had definitely seemed like knockoffs of better products
