I just received my order from Thundermist Lures, these spinners and jigs are perfect and exactly as expected. Thanks Ivo and Antonio and the complimentary pen was a real nice touch.

I've been catching and cooking Freshwater Drum for more than 40 years and I've found that placing them on ice immediately after catch makes the flesh a little less firm. Compared to other fish, the flesh will still be firm, but not tuff or overly stiff.
I think placing them on a stringer or in a live basket after catch, stresses them out and, thereby, negatively affects the texture of the flesh.
    Just my opinion and experience.

Sheepshead one of my fav Florida fishes. A bit of a pain to clean, but my hubby takes care of that as well as the catching part 🎣

The fish in this video are freshwater drum, close relatives of the redfish and black drum. In Florida, your husband is probably catching saltwater sheepshead, a different fish entirely.

I love that you showed people that they should remove the far and red meat that removes that fishy taste. I believe a majority of people have NEVER even eaten one and now if they try they'll be hooked ( pun intended)

WHAT IS THE LARGEST SIZED SHEEPHEAD YOU WOULD EAT? WHAT IS THE IDEAL SIZE TO FILLET AND GET A GOOD SIZED FILLET?

Everyone bonks every walleye they catch but throw back everything else. Then they complain that there’s no walleye anymore. Pretty much everything you can catch on a hook can taste great.

I must have caught a thousand sheepshead in my life and always threw them back. I kept one a few weeks ago and ate it with a smallmouth bass and some bluegill and it was just like any of the other fish. Darn those old wives' tales of them being trash lol

Sheephead or Freshwater Drum which is what they really are, are probably one of the hardest fighting fish in Lake Erie. Lots of fun to catch but treated with disdain by snobbish Canadian anglers. Easier to catch as they are far more aggressive than Walleye and smallmouth bass. Love to get a five or six pounder on the hook as the fight is epic. Taste great smoked
