    kudos to probably the best in philippine auto reviews. the first impressions vid actually reflects what someone interested in buying a car would find in a first drive. not like other outlets that are just glorified advertisements with no real criticisms or pertinent info.

    If I had to choose between the TOTL HR-V and the Civic at the same price point, I'd go with the HRV because it has more ground clearance. But comparing the base variant models of these two, I'll definitely get the Civic since I'm getting the same turbo engine from the RS variant.

      Not surprising since Sedans are much more fun to drive and offer better performance.
      Crossovers should be Sedans on stilts, but I guess Honda did not understand the assignment.

    Would have liked the hybrid.
    But once again, the tariffs and duties for imported cars in this country are holding us back from getting nice things.
    And for what? To protect local car manufacturing that's basically non-existent?

    Nice comparison. As always, Caco bringing the best car review here in PH!
    Just my observation, with a difference of just 56HP and 350K massive bump from S to V variant, it's like you're paying 6,214php per excess horses which is pretty expensive.

    Anyone else notice how the new Honda cars (City and HRV) didn't bother to have the infotainment switches converted for left hand drive? They're all to far to the right. Tbh would be somewhat of a reach just to push a button. Surprised no car reviewer ever mentioned this.

      But we most likely wouldn't get what we wished than the other countries because of our hastly laid up excise tax for imported cars forcing manufacturers to cut corners, an example was the Toyota Hilux V Conquest not having a rear ac vent at all whike other countries had and we don't have a Blue Isuzu MU-X or red MU-X/ Toyota Fortuner, and you got a company called Perodua too that makes similar looking but a locally done iteration of the cars from other manufacturers like the Toyota Rush and Wigo while we had none at all except for few companies locally assembling knock down kits to be sold here and some custom made jeepney makers but that's it.

    I drove a 2022 Honda HR-V hybrid for my road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park. I drove over 2100 miles and I average 32MPG for my trip.
    What I like: camping mode works like wonder when I sleep in it in camping ground when temperature was around 30 degree. It was comfortable to sleep inside while the engine is keeping the temperature around 75 degree. Well equipment with technology: lane centering, blind spot monitor, power seat for both driver and passenger seats, moon roof, Adaptive Cruise Control.
    What I don’t like: 32MPG is low for a hybrid vehicle. Lane centering is not reliable. Seat is very uncomfortable. It is the worst seat I have tried ever.

    • @imtidxb-6586
      @imtidxb-6586 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the pleasure of driving a Tucson with the lane keeping assist, same tech as Kia I believe. And about 2 weeks ago, drove the HRV for a solid half an hour on major highway. The long difference between the two.
      Hyundai kicked LKA even at slow speeds. Honda LKA only turns on past 60-65km
      Both had solid force feedback on the steering of you over stepped a lane. If i had to choose a number from 1 to 10. I'd pick 9 for Hyundai and 8 for Honda.
      Oh one more thing. With HRV I did a curve highway turn at 100km+ without my hands on the wheel. The car was turning itself for me. It was surreal because the curve lasted a solid 5-10 seconds with that speed and the car kept itself in lane despite no hands on.
      I'm sure Hyundai would do the same but I never tried it. Only on Honda.
      I highly recommend you test drive HRV and witness the magic on your own

      Those cars not in the same class, because Corolla Cross it based from Corolla, meanwhile HR-V based from Jazz. In my country (Indonesia) HR-V compete with Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Peugeot 2008, VW T-Cross.

    The biggest problem I saw with the HR-V would be the seating capacity as it cannot cater to 3 persons at the back row. The middle seat is way too elevated, which makes me wonder is it worth it to spend that much money for a compact SUV which only sits 4? Anyway that's just my thought on this. Thanks!

      I have the new HRV, no issues fitting 3 adults at the back, provided 1 of them is a 200lb adult.

      Hmm, not sure what you consider as long drive.
      But that was round trip tagaytay QC, around 200km that day as we also drove around other areas. Great leg room, good elbow room too as the ones at the back described.

      @@daniellearwenlim3168 so the high lift on the middle seat on the 2nd row does not bother you? Well that's nice if it doesnt 😊 Still a great car overall.

    • @daniellearwenlim3168
      @daniellearwenlim3168 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Nope, its not much, its even less than the fortuner or innova.
      Tbh elbow room much better even than the innova.
      And pls do not misunderstood, im not bragging bec we have this model. But just stating the facts. There are a few annoying things with this model though, such as maintenance, and also I keep on hitting the door when getting out of the car!!
