If I had to choose between the TOTL HR-V and the Civic at the same price point, I'd go with the HRV because it has more ground clearance. But comparing the base variant models of these two, I'll definitely get the Civic since I'm getting the same turbo engine from the RS variant.
Not surprising since Sedans are much more fun to drive and offer better performance. Crossovers should be Sedans on stilts, but I guess Honda did not understand the assignment.
Would have liked the hybrid. But once again, the tariffs and duties for imported cars in this country are holding us back from getting nice things. And for what? To protect local car manufacturing that's basically non-existent?

Should've retained the 1.8L from the previous generation instead of a non-turbo 1.5L base variant. In Civic terms, night and day na agad difference ng 1.8L sa 1.5 turbo, what more for a car that's bulkier in dimension?

No matter which grade of HRV I took, the SAFETY and SECURITY was the same. I love that my family's well-being did not cost me a few thousands more, like it would when buying the CC. Therefore, I picked the HRV. Plus. it's a sexy little hybrid. Who says it has to be boring?
@@cathrinah05 The grades have different labels in different countries. I have the Grade Z: the model with the bells and whistles but no sunroof. Not interested in sunroof given the maintenance snd weather.

I drove a 2022 Honda HR-V hybrid for my road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park. I drove over 2100 miles and I average 32MPG for my trip. What I like: camping mode works like wonder when I sleep in it in camping ground when temperature was around 30 degree. It was comfortable to sleep inside while the engine is keeping the temperature around 75 degree. Well equipment with technology: lane centering, blind spot monitor, power seat for both driver and passenger seats, moon roof, Adaptive Cruise Control. What I don’t like: 32MPG is low for a hybrid vehicle. Lane centering is not reliable. Seat is very uncomfortable. It is the worst seat I have tried ever.

Did they remove the parking sensor? looking at the international version , you can see the sensors front and back. it's always a water down version when it is released locally on most car brands

I had the pleasure of driving a Tucson with the lane keeping assist, same tech as Kia I believe. And about 2 weeks ago, drove the HRV for a solid half an hour on major highway. The long difference between the two. Hyundai kicked LKA even at slow speeds. Honda LKA only turns on past 60-65km Both had solid force feedback on the steering of you over stepped a lane. If i had to choose a number from 1 to 10. I'd pick 9 for Hyundai and 8 for Honda. Oh one more thing. With HRV I did a curve highway turn at 100km+ without my hands on the wheel. The car was turning itself for me. It was surreal because the curve lasted a solid 5-10 seconds with that speed and the car kept itself in lane despite no hands on. I'm sure Hyundai would do the same but I never tried it. Only on Honda. I highly recommend you test drive HRV and witness the magic on your own

It's the tariffs, it costs more to import, not including the thieves at the dealerships upping the price to get their margins. So to keep the price at what's palatable for the local consumers, they take out features or carry over old specs.
Those cars not in the same class, because Corolla Cross it based from Corolla, meanwhile HR-V based from Jazz. In my country (Indonesia) HR-V compete with Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Peugeot 2008, VW T-Cross.

The biggest problem I saw with the HR-V would be the seating capacity as it cannot cater to 3 persons at the back row. The middle seat is way too elevated, which makes me wonder is it worth it to spend that much money for a compact SUV which only sits 4? Anyway that's just my thought on this. Thanks!
Hmm, not sure what you consider as long drive. But that was round trip tagaytay QC, around 200km that day as we also drove around other areas. Great leg room, good elbow room too as the ones at the back described.

Nope, its not much, its even less than the fortuner or innova. Tbh elbow room much better even than the innova. And pls do not misunderstood, im not bragging bec we have this model. But just stating the facts. There are a few annoying things with this model though, such as maintenance, and also I keep on hitting the door when getting out of the car!!

No HEV version of HR-V? I got one in Thailand (since Dec 2021). 20+ km/li on average.
Nah, Honda probably will say "it will be too expensive" but they still adding the turbo which is also pretty expensive

Bruh, in Indonesia we got the panoramic sunroof but for operation that's kinda weird and difficult, u should watch it the Indonesian version

charging ports at the back is non factor nadin.. modern phones can be fully charged from zero in about 1 hour with some in under 20 mins.

I have the new HRV, no issues fitting 3 adults at the back, provided 1 of them is a 200lb adult.
