Maha, this process of learning Arabic has been for about two years for me. Just want to thank you because you are the reason I can understand and speak Arabic...your explanations have been my guiding light. From learning the alphabet to work on the dialect. By the way you're recommendation to learn Shami dialect has really been the reason my Arabic has improved by leaps and bounds and it really complements FuSha which I understand now more because I'm learning the dialect. Thank you thank you thank you!

It’s always been hard to learn Arabic for me. Mainly because both my parents never really taught me but also bcuz my dad speaks with a village dialect while my mom speaks with a city dialect. So this is helpful and makes sense. Thanks Maha

Hi, Maha! I'm currently studying MSA and I've noticed that verbs in the first-person singular past tense form end with the suffix /tu/. Is it common for colloquial varieties of Arabic to drop the final vowel and use the suffix /t/ instead? This rule also seems to apply to the second-personal singular masculine suffix /ta/ -> /t/.
