I just got 2 green spotted about 1.5 inches each. When should i move them to brackish? I got the brackish salt ready. Is there a benefit to leaving them in fresh water until a bit bigger?

There really isn't too much of a benefit in keeping them in freshwater. In the wild they slowly get swept down stream eventually ending up in brackish or marine conditions. In a tank they can live in fresh water but their life span isn't as long. So brackish to marine is the way to go. Personally I would acclimate the to brackish over the span of a couple days sooner then later.

@TheAquaPapa good info. Made up a 5 gallon bucket mixed to 1.012 and did a water change last night. They seem happier this morning. Thanks for your help!

is it possible to turn a salt water puffer to a freshwater?

So species that we call salt water puffers can NOT go into fresh water.
Most fresh water puffer fish only live their life in freshwater until a particular point in their live and then they move down river into brackish water. And eventually full salt.
That being said there is some puffer s that live 100% of their live in fresh water.

Thanks for the helpful video! Quick question, how many years or what age should the green spotted puffers be when you switch them from brackish water to full marine salt water?

You can acclimate them to marine water at any time. Just got to go slow. And I'm not to sure on size or age mostly because something like 80% of all "freshwater puffers" are wild caught

In nature Gsp start their lives in fresh water and move down stream to salter waters
