Host of Curiosity Quest, Joel Greene explores this tasty quest as he gets an inside look on how oranges are grown, sorted and packaged to be shipped across the world. It is harvest time when Greene arrives and he gets to experience, first hand, how oranges are hand- picked as he struggles to fill his bag with 50 pounds of oranges. Did you know that oranges are sprayed with a wax to make them look prettier? In this episode, you will also learn how oranges are measured by size, color, shape and weight all in a matter of seconds. Picking the oranges is only the beginning of the process these oranges go through before they end up at your local super market. In this DVD, you will see the whole process in action.

One of the most informative videos. Jay is a very good interviewee. Wonder how some oranges have thin skins and some have thick?? I like thin skins. Think I'll go have one.

    I want to know
    1. how much was the retail value of the oranges
    2. how much did it cost to ship them in the truck
    that was going to Philadelphia?

me too, i also wanted to know more on world scale as well as orange market size. Like, I want to do a presentation on Oranges for an interview tomorrow and all I know is that they have been sprayed and carefully selected, picked once a year.
but it was still a really nice video, i much enjoyed it :)

Sad truth is some Americans complain about other ethnic groups taking away jobs that don't pay much which some Americans don't want to do anyway, and they are too lazy to work and wants to get paid more!!! Really?!
Anyway, great video! It was fun watching it.
