Hey guys, in this video, I explore a mining fit for the Gnosis that was suggested to me a while ago by one of my subscribers and compare it to my Venture fit.
I think the best plan is to use a venture to mine with a mobile tractor unit...just mine and dump having the mtu pick up ur ore...i think the capacity is 225000 so this allows u to collect a lot of ore. Than use an ore transporter to get the ore to a player station for compression in one go. Cheers
@@keldon_champion actually it's 27000m3, so over 5 venture ore holds worth. You'd need to use the miasmos to drop off the MTU as it's bigger than the venture's cargo hold
ahh... I remember the days where I was looking for alpha venture alternatives, quite fun times I would suggest rather than trying to optimize mining rocks, you look into gas harvesting, it's way more profitable, even for alphas!
Good video, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this ship being good in LS for a few reasons. First, it's speed. In HS you want a lot of tank to hold off until Concord or your fleet can respond. However, if you're solo you want to minimize your time on grid, thus, you'd want the smaller faster ship so you can press the "oh, crap" button and gtfo at a moment's notice. If you cannot get the align time of the Gnosis to under 2sec with this fit, then you shouldn't be using it to mine in LS unless your system is completely empty. Which defeats the whole purpose of this design. If you're with a fleet, then you're far less likely to be attacked so the speed is far less important, but so is the tank. Also, with a slower warp speed, as you mentioned, trips to dump ore will take much longer and will add up significantly over time lowing your isk/hr. Second, it's price. I understand you have to spend money to make money, but that's only effective to a point. A Venture is extremely cheap and quite easy to find and manufacture. The Gnosis is significantly less so in all regards. You will be ganked, there is no question about it. In HS/LS/NS/WH there are people who find it funny to target miners, or anyone for that matter, and kill them. At some point, your best laid plans will fail. Maybe you're more tired than you think, and you forget to press D-scan for a while, or something. You will have to replace the ship. It'd be much more cost effective to do this with Venture. Third, is LS tactics. Since Concord doesn't exist here there's no real penalty for ganking people. I mean, gate/station guns, but those are easy to tank or avoid, so meh. As such, people will not be limited to Catalysts for ganking since they won't fear losing their ships. Yes, the Gnosis does have a much better tank than Venture, but that will do little when you're pinned by a couple of interceptors whose only job is to prevent you from warping until the Cruisers/Battle Cruisers arrive. In the end, it's a game and it's about what's fun for the individual. If this fit is fun for you, then go for it. It's not always about isk/hr, most times it's about fun/hr. That being said, in terms of effectiveness, I cannot accept this as a replacement for Ventures.
Looking back on the video, I agree with your statement completely. This fit should be used purely for fun, and does not have any practical monetary benefit as described in the video. Thank you for making it clear in the comment!
Hahahaha, it looks like it's time to drop the HAMs and throw on the mining lasers. Yes, im omga but i reset most of my skills to focus on ratting. And since i have a corp bubby that i mine with that can compress ore.... the warp time is meaningless. Gneiss here i come! 🤣🤣🤣
I don't think more tank is going to keep you safe getting off grid will and the venture wins hands down on that all more tank is going to do for you is make it take longer to die if you get caught also what are you talking about that it has more capacity for ore it s not even close the gnosis has 900m3 vs 5000m3, you have got to be trolling on this no one would actually think this is a good mining setup.
ALMOST 1K SUBS!

that's a neat idea but MTUs have a capacity of 100m3 so like less than 1 cycle off a mining laser

No uses....you can boost with it

Did you miss that this gnosis fit had cargo expanders on it that exceeded the ore capacity of a venture?
@@Timithos that's still not even close to 5000m3
look up FRANKLIN VONALIQUE he will prove this fit is trash
