Noa didnt defeat Proximus alone, he defeated him with the help of his father and his teachings, and the traditions of his clan. Apes together strong.

Proximus learned by studying human history, but failed to understand the Romans made too many enemies and made the same mistake the humans did. Just like how Mae clung too hard to the past, Proximus couldn't accept that his kingdom was gone and he couldn't rebuild by coercing a clan who hated his guts.
It was heartbreaking earlier to see that Proximus considered the tradition of raising eagles to be of no value, so it is fitting to see the eagles rip into him before pushing him off the cliff. I was confused about the Eagle Clan not fighting at first, but rewatching this, I remembered they are a peaceful group so they weren't ready for a fight. Luckily, they weren't alone.
Fun fact: The eagle was a symbol of power for the Romans. The eagles killing Proximus is almost like a statement of how he is a failure of a king.
Yeah. The last part on your comment made this scene more impactful. Its as if the spirit of the Roman Empire, rejected Proximus and sees him as a false king
ik many people wanted Noa to give a ass whopping to Proximus, But his death is actually fitting! The Eagles tear Proximus Ceasar up after he falls to his death. (or i assume he's dead) I don't think Noa could even put up a fight against Proximus as he's not a warrior, he's just a scout. Plus i assume Proximus Ceasar is stronger than Noa.
Proximus also showed no respect for the tradition of raising eagles, seeing the practice as having no value. For some added irony, eagles were a symbol of power among the Romans.
Plus the entire scene was Proximus throwing a fit and assaulting Noa after losing everything. The king had no followers, and assumed that he would make the clan he oppressed bow before him. In his conceit he refused to accept that he was beaten, just like his conceit caused him to make too many enemies and destroyed his kingdom.
Proximus is a bonobo like Koba. Noa is a chimpanzee like Caesar, so Noa is supposed to be bigger than Proximus but he simply isnt
@@yumnykiddd1312 Proximus allegedly being a bonobo feels like a reference to Koba, and I don't see the point of it. He looks more like a chimp.
Even considering how these movies play loose with biology (great apes don't have the anatomy to speak like humans), making Proximus a bonobo feels like a pointless reference.
When Noa & Proximus Ceasar stand side by side, proximus is slightly taller than Noa.

@@user-JJ94_Bby_Noya I reckon when the extended cut drops we'll get hints as to why he, a bonobo, the smallest of the great apes, is almost as big and powerful as a gorilla. I'm thinking daddy was a particularly well endowed bonobo and mommy was a young gorilla.

You know what I love about this scene? The fact that it showed how the apes evolved since Ceaser time, when he was leading the apes they were still clinging to their natural instincts and behaviors, the weaker apes follow the stronger one and all that. We saw that during the Dawn where not even a single ape tried to help Ceaser during his fight with Koba, since this was the battle for being the alpha of the group and only the strongest could lead, here everything changed. While Proximus tried to make Eagle Clan remember their old brutal and primal behaviors of alphas leading the group, Noa which was a weaker ape didn't fought against him with brute force instead he used culture and customs that were shaped by Eagle Clan for generations to defeat Proximus, he did not fight him alone like Ceaser did fight Koba, Noa defeated him along with his Clan which didn't follow their old natural instincts, but chose to help Noa because he was one of them.
TLDR; Basically this scene shows how apes became more civilized and stick to new rules and social customs contrary to the apes who lived during Ceaser times.
The same happened to your species too you know. Its no more about raw strength anymore is it, the guys who write and are in charge the rules and policies run everything.

I kinda wish that Proximus survived the fall. He's an interesting villain with his hypocritical world view, and I would rather have more of him than next movies trying to make a new Colonel and showing non-infected humans as the baddies (had enough of that in Avatar already).
You can hear his laughter at the end of the credits, they’re bringing him back

He died like emperor caesar, from multiple stabs, but from talons instead of daggers
@@Tyranachu I meant Prometheus cause he wanted to share the power of the gods with humanity and was punished being chained up and was feeded alive by an eagle.
Thats the same fate that Proximus got, he wanted the apes to have the power of human machinery (although his motives were less altruistic than the ones from Prometheus) but in the end met a similar fate, being killed by eagles.
Although I admit that the Emperor Caesar analogy works too.

Ceasar is basically Jesus to all the ape tribes and they all have there different depictions of him and his rules and ways and that’s how religion started. Then Noa saving his tribe from a “great flood”. Proximus Ceasar means next Ceasar basically he was the false prophet trying to be the next Ceasar (god). Kinda cool how they did that

It was quite realistic for chimps (the vast majority of them are chimps). In the wild when they patrol and skirmish they do attack in groups but within their own group if there are disagreements it's one on one. This is an alpha challenge. You'll notice throughout the series whenever things go back to being primal and combaty they tend to revert back to their ape cognition and abstain from a lot of their learned verbal language.
Those who don’t learn from human history are doomed to repeat it.

Noah was never going to defeat Proximus in a fair fight, but his greatest strength was mind and be able to think himself out of a problem.
Also Proximus forgot Caesar's other most important rule. Ape will not kill Ape.

There is an after credits scene supposedly but it's meant to be ambiguous between Proximus and Raka. I've not heard it myself as I got kicked out the cinema before the credits had finished.
