If you listen to the music of ‘Limo Wreck,’ it’s actually a complicated series of rhythms and melodies, and they go into these interesting places, and none of it is particularly based in any sort of rock tradition that I was aware of. Because of that, any idea I had melodically seemed really interesting to me. We really didn’t play ‘Limo Wreck’ much live previously, but in rehearsing it now, I really think it’s one of the more unusual songs I’ve heard in modern rock. It’s an accomplishment, and I can look at some of the slower, heavier, weirder melodic songs on Superunknown as being uniquely ours, without reference or root in anything else-any other period of music, any other band, any other records. - Chris Cornell.

Rocker Chick Chris has lost a lot of his vocal ability. Thankfully though, he had a lot to lose and he remains a better singer than 99% of what is out there today
100% they played a lot of stuff in flat tuning (it doesn't sound like they tuned down for this though, that could be my drunk ears though haha) as they went on but it made the music darker/more punchy and his vocals sounded fantastic. Suck a massive loss :(
Kim Thayil's chorus pedal in the main riff gives the song a trippy psychedelic vibe love it! Chris Cornell once said that he was talking to a Limo driver about the highway in California about the automobiles. Cornell made the observation that most of the affluent drivers seemed to not have a care in the world. The Limo driver told Cornell how he saw a rich guy who didn't want poor people near his Limo and was outside of the Limo yelling at them to stay away from his limo. They preceded to beat the living shit out of him. That's what this song is about. As well as the gap between the rich and the poor. Class warfare.

Chris was the total package. Great songwriter, great singer, competent guitar player. Doesn't seem seem fair for one person to have so much talent, and such a shame that he went the way he did.
Yes it's a real shame he's no more with us. The star in the sky has exploded. Well you got one thing wrong though brother. He wasn't any competent guitar player. The man was a genius at the guitar. Boy oh boy, the melodies he's written with the guitar, those are brilliant, they hold so much tension and are so rock n roll and smart at the same time. Gets your head scratching. I agree, this is music of my youth, and the whole Superunknown album is one of the greatest rock albums of all time I think. There is an awesome cover of this song by Witch Mountain band recently. Cheers!
I sincerely believe that because of the sadness that surrounds his story and also the deepness of lyrics it's just a bummer for a lot of people.
