    Thanks much! Very helpful lesson and I liked how you tied in the dashboard to bring the knowledge into a presentation mode if necessary.

    what happened if the data source has a new make? do you have to manually have to add that new make in and update the formula? thank you

      Yeah, its kind of rediculous that Smartsheets doesn't have native pivot tables like every other spreadsheet app on the market. You have to buy an add on to enable pivot tables and from what I understand tell its pretty pricy,

    does this grab each category? What would happen if you added a cadillac model? Thank you!

    • @ProperProjectManagement

      Hello Steven, you would need to ensure that the cadillac model is both in the data sheet and a new row is added to the 'pivot table' and the corresponding formula is set up.

    Hi, Can you please make a video on ISEVEN, and ISODD formulas? Thanks

    Sheets are very simple and without ready to use formulas, just the texts.

    that is not a Pivot Table, it is just some summaries added in one table.

      Correct it is not. But it is the best next alternative, and workaround with Smartsheet's current capabilities unless you have the budget for the paid app: www.smartsheet.com/marketplace/premium-apps/pivot-app. If I didn't title the video this way, you wouldn't be able to find this effective solution...

    why would I manually enter data, Smartsheets cant even come close to excel

    • @ProperProjectManagement

      Fair point. But I would say Smartsheet has other use cases and benefits despite this draw back. Namely collab features. Multi access etc

    How do i creat Pivots when there are multiple values within a column cell and I still need to calculate each value? Not sure if that made sense?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I understand. You would need to add those values as separate entities in the 'pivot table' data sheet and run the formula.

    Having to manually add rows to the pivot table takes away a ton of the benefit of a pivot table. Smartsheets taking an L for not having a better solution

      Hello. It's not ideal, agreed. There is the pivot app you can use as a premium app, but that does come as an additional cost.

    How do we get this data to automatically update on the dashboard as new data is imported?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jessica. You would need to ensure the 'pivot table' pulls from the sheet where the new data is imported.

    So basically, you can't do a pivot table in Smartsheet

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's right, unfortunately, Steve. This is the best workaround I have come across.

      Oh you can, you just have to fork out extra cash for the Pivot addon.
