Russian soldiers on foreign land are good for two things. Target practice and fertilizer.
Oh and these aren't TB-2 drones, they are civilian DJI hexacopters (DJI Matrice 600 Pro) retrofitted with remote release devices and loaded with mortar rounds, which are then dropped from about 500m onto targets below which are found using the factory fitted cameras on the drones. Brilliant use of civilian technology for asymmetrical warfare. Slava Ukraine

@@jimmcluhan2455 depends when and where you bought it, a year ago they were retailing in Australia for $14,000. Specs vary depending on build (the unit is modular,) but factory batteries and controller and antennae will give approximately 15km range, up to 55 minutes flight time which reduces to 20 minutes with a full 6.7Kg (~15Lb) payload. It was originally designed as a camera platform for lightweight cinema cameras but is used in everything from GIS surveys, S&R missions, to real estate photography now.

Sounds like you know something about drones so i'll venture a hypothetical question (for fun). If you were someone like say a helicopter mechanic/engineer, with the tools and a shop, you could likely order mostly off the shelf components, and build something equivalent, do you think? And if so, maybe at substantially lower cost. (Guessing).
@@jimmcluhan2455 it would be cheaper to just buy them off the shelf, there's a lot of components and control hardware that you would need an electrical engineer to make yourself. What might be possible is building drones with replacement parts (engines, control boards, transceivers etc) and 3D printed frames. replacement parts are available, but they're rather expensive, it would be cheaper to buy the full drone than buy the replacement parts individually to build one. However compared to the cost of a military drone or the cost of the tanks they can be used to destroy, these are practically disposable. US price is going to come in around the $10,000 - $11,000 mark for a full, ready to assemble kit including drone body, motors, rotors, battery, charger, controller etc.

Looks like strategists will be reassessing the role of tanks in warfare: when $15k can destroy >$1.2M in hardware, economy of scale need greater consideration. I bet China, India, Iran and the US are analysing this conflict intensely.

Russian tanks are too susceptible! Design needs to be redone as the Ukrainian military only needs to hit at base of turit. Which makes it easy to destroy with shoulder fired weapons.
The weakest point should be the underside.
