EPA discovers 'forever chemicals' in Pacific Northwest water systems

- In a massive country-wide study, the EPA now has an idea of which harmful contaminants called "forever chemicals" or PFAS are found in public water systems.
"This is just the first wave of reporting across the country and it's only about 15% of sites being tested," said Phil Thompson, a civil and environmental engineering professor at Seattle University.
He said these contaminants are organic chemicals from fire retardants or non-stick coatings on pots and pans.

People can at least buy water filters from Berkey, Alexa Pure, or PureOne so that they don't have to wait or feel powerless.
Most filters do not meaningfully reduce PFAS. You would need a multi-stage water filtration system, which would cost a few thousand dollars to add to your home. Your carbon filter in your fridge or brita isn't doing a whole lot and probably is overdue for changing anyway.

You need a WHOLE HOUSE FILTERS using zeolite ceramic filters that only allows water molecules to past through. They are used on board Russian submarines. In fact they can be directly used to filter RAW SEWAGE into fresh drinkable water but we also use super critical water wet oxidation processes also known as hyperbaric oxidation which has also been used in making hyperbaric incineration. These technologies has been around since the late 1960s up to the early 1970s BUT WERE SUPPRESSED. Why? Because people will be asking questions on why they are needed and once they are HONESTLY GIVEN THE ANSWERS then you can only imagine the sheer public protests and outcry and demonstrations and riots and multi-billion dollars paid in compensation and the multi-billion dollars needed for restoration and multi-billion dollars needed to retrofit all public water utilities and independent small utilities and water supplying utilities in small communities and in rural areas such as schools, churches, villages, farms, small truck gardeners, etc.
What we need is a complex and energy intensive process to remove these chemicals.
Surrey, BC's old water well is the only water that doesn't test for sezeium. It takes 47 years for the water to get to Canada from Mt. Baker in the USA. Engineers collecting water there, long retired, filled me in. The water flows like corn syrup. you have to get to it by the truck pull off on the 99, and walk over the railroad tracks into the bush to the old concrete walls.
