    Great video! Around August 8, 4 pm, is there any chance to see and take pictures of puffins? 70 - 200 mm lens long enough? Thank you.

    Oli you snagged some really nice shots!
    Yup, lots of Puffins here in Newfoundland too. You are the probably the first person I have heard note Newfoundland as also a Puffin area, most people never even heard of Newfoundland, lol 😂
    Are there Gannets in Iceland? They are an amazing and beautiful sea bird too, one of my favs.

      Thank you... I’m not that much into bird photography, but puffins are special :-)

      @@oli-haukur-valtysson Same as myself, I don't really do bird photography either, but as you said they are special :)

    I've never seen a puffin in real life but they seem pretty cute - the star wars bird right

    Great Video Oli, thanks for the channel. I have read that the birds are only on land “til September” but I don’t know if that is the beginning or end of the month. We will be in your beautiful country starting September 5th. What are the chances of some still being around?

      Well... beginning August most of them are gone... but a few stay a little longer... you might get lucky in September, but I wouldn’t count on it...
      Have a great time here in Iceland

      I had my 100-400mm on... and most of the time I was at 400 mm :-)

    So even the puffins keep to the icelandic speed limit then lol

      They better... we don’t want our Puffins in trouble with the Police :-)

    What lenses do you recommend to shoot puffins? Will I need longer than 70-200?

    • @oli-haukur-valtysson
      @oli-haukur-valtysson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No...70-200 is good... you can get very close to the puffin :-)
