  • We reinvented the benchmark core and wrapped it around tour proven technology. In Episode one we dive into the details of why we went on this journey. Tyler Jensen, President SPI, Hank Boomershine, VP of Sales and R&D, and Alex Hoskins, Director of R&D kick off the first episode. Take a look at the core inside Ion Pro and how it is a game changer in the Storm lineup of balls.

Whenever I look at purchasing a ball, hybrid balls are what I look for, and the ION pro is definitely one I look forward to getting.

My benchmark ball is now the Absolute Power. I never liked the P2. Hmmm, never release bowling ball after bowling ball, that doesn’t seem the case lately. Some of these new balls are being discontinued in less than 6 months. It’s hard to keep up with all the new releases.

The Absolute Power actually works really well as a benchmark ball for me. I do think this Ion Pro will be a success.

I'm struggling with the absolute power. For instance I was playing on Big Ben (44ft 24.7 mL conditioner). Even after changing my speed from 15-16 down to 12-13 mph and still barely saw 3-4 boards of reaction, from 2000 grit down to 360 surface.Rev rate somewhere between 250-300.
I feel I should be getting more back end out of the Absolute Power under those circumstances.

I'd like to put out a topic to talk about. Most of these benchmark ball are designed and targeted for a specific ball speed. But there are many others that are good bowlers but struggle to look at these reviews to find a relationship to these balls and there ball speed. This, being most reviewers ball speed are higher 16-18 mph speeds. What about us slower speed bowlers. I throw between 13-14 mph. How do we get the same performance at these slower speeds. Do i have to go to weaker balls?
    Just saying..what about us...😊

Please re-release the rst x3 with an ai core. Don't believe you have anything in the current line up like it?

So this ball is being released in the middle of the summer when the PBA is over and most leagues are done for. So this is a good time for a company to test something incase it kinda flops. Kinda like the Summit when it was released about this time last year, which was marketed as a strong ball but will give you that little bit of length and it was the first with the AI core. The cover was the Tx23 hybrid which came from the TX16. The summit was supposed to be a heavy oil ball, I never had a phase 2 so I got the summit. This seems like the replacement attempt on that ball which was supposed to kinda be so good. So This Ion has a similar cover, has AI, but is an asymmetrical ball. I couldn't stand the summit it was a ball that I was really excited about and then just gave it away because honestly what the pro shops were saying and how it was marketed as a strong Phase 2. But This new Ion you guys explained very well as it's kinda step down because that cover isn't as strong as the phase 2 but will give you a different shape. So I think this ball will be a much better version than the Summit was. The Summit Peak is how that ball should have came out, we will probably never see the Summit as a Solid because then it would be too similar to the phase 2. This Ion ball being a lower diff, you will be able to put different covers on it, but need to test it with the hybrid first to see if the next iteration of it will be a solid or a pearl. IDk my 2 cents. But I think this ball will be a much better ball as it's being properly marketed.

The thing I found with the summit has I still have mine. Is that it's doesn't snap like a phaze 2. It's hooks earlier in the lane, thus making it a stronger ball. It is really good with oil or new lanes. I have found a similar thing with the new idol. I cant throw it on burn but fresh they are both deadly. If I'm throwing three games I'll just throw a absolute power and then either my eternity or attention star.

Looks like a Prodigy with the colors. Too bad it’s not a Prodigy.
