They know not that they know not Tom. I really appreciate your posting this. There are countless fans of this machine among audiophiles. I remember it (or it's smaller cousin the 950) being used in a Maxell commercial with Chuck Mangione in the '80's. It's one of the very few contenders to the Nak Dragon throne.....
Or alternatively, do you have any ideas how to tackle the project. I have two linkerhanden, but would love to save this deck. Ik heb alle onderdelen. Any ideas - dank! Pascal
Whenever I work in this way I meticulously track which screw came from which place. You'll be surprised to see how many times, especially with laptops, where multiple screws of slightly differing sizes are used side by side, plus there are times when the length is critical because the screw's contact with a part provides a ground. I would have been more impressed if he had an elaborate set up for marking, tracking and holding screws and small parts so they can't get bumped to the floor unnoticed
i have two Yamaha k-850 cassette decks and with both of them, when i press play they will lock in and give my 1-2 sec of audio and then immediately disengage does anyone know what could be causing this.
@euromastertech Hi Tom , thanks for your reply. You must have received my other message, which i sent yesterday. Can you give me an indication of the cost? I may have given the impression that I am in Europe - I am actually in the US. East coast, but still, that may make a difference. Thanks much! Pascal

@youvexme Hello Pascal, Sorry, but your comment did not show up from TH-cam until today. You can ship the unit to me but the cost is prohibitive. It is all airmail nowadays. Perhaps you can find a guy with twee rechter handen, who can help you put it together again with the assistance of my video. What do you say. You can reach me at sopmot@comcast.net. Have a Great Day! Cheers, Tom

Is the DVD about the mechanical part only?

This guy is dead. I sent him my 1250 for restoration, he got started on it and then died from a heart attack. Never got my deck back.
Oh my goodness, may he rest in peace
