Hi, I'm Stéphane, a huge fan of 2 drummers, Jeffrey Porcaro and Carlos Vega.
2 drummers very close in their technics, their groove!
Carlos Vega was born in Cuba on December 7, 1956 and grew up in Los Angeles.
Carlos performed with a wide variety of musicians across many genres.
I miss Carlos because he was, he is...so amazing in all his tracks he played..

I loved seeing these guys play live! R.I.P. Carlos.
Vega was impeccable.
Freak’n Jimmy Johnson is an unsung hero!!! Him and his alembic!!!!
Me , a total stranger called Carlos Vega once about a Drumming question and he spoke at great length to help and answer my question!! Great, Great Human Being we lost!!!!
You're very lucky!
Please what question and what was his answer? Carlos and Gadd are my GOAT drummer with Jim Gordon and Jeff a close second. Its not just the skills, feel or sound. Its a knowing about what will sound best. It's a type of rare genius. These guys move different as well. Like Space is the place but not simple. He was so special!!!
@@jobrothberg4679 Thee entire conversation was about 'TIME'. - Essentially, lock it in with yourself and others.
Carlos & Lee were both long time members of Olivia's band. She attracted elite talented musicians and songwriters which helped her dominate the industry for so long.
Carlos was great player thats for sure. Great touch and very rhythmic could play with ease. RIP to this great skinsman.
I am from Portugal, but I had the privilege of watching live Carlos Vega (drums) and Jimmy Johnson (bass) in a concert with James Taylor (in Lisbon, 91 or 92). I was impressed with their Incredible good taste. The BEST ever!!! (both of them).
You’re very lucky! You saw them … with the great JT!! Lucky man!👍😜
🙂👍‼️Such a fantastic, tasty, drummer. 😢 R.I.P.
No longer with us!! RIP….# 1 call in the L.A. area along with Jeff Porcaro at the time!!
The Mighty Carlos Vega at drums outstanding performance as ever great musicians ♥️♥️♥️
Incredible musicians and faithful year 1985...Rip Carlos Vega,my favourete drummer
in musical concept with Lee Rit.
This has got to be THEE Best Rit footage I've ever seen.
Anybody else impressed with how musical and rhythmic that bass player is? I was eating it up, listened to his solo twice.
Yes, that's Jimmy Johnson absolute killer bassist. This is one hell of a band with Dave Grusin and Larry Williams. Rit's playing is off the charts. So sad about Carlos Vega, one of the great drummers of that period along with Jeff Porcaro, John JR Robinson and Buddy Williams and several others too.
Jimmy Johnson...
JJ’s a BEAST!
Saw JJ a few years back in Steve Gadd's band.......awesome
And don’t forget for years he played with the GOAT Allan Holdsworth🤘🏻
Mr Leland Sklar always has kind words and fantastic memories of Mr Carlos Vega ! Always... My personal favourite from his extensive work repertoire was from the Linda Ronstadt album Cry like a Rainstorm ,Howl like the Wind ...his work on that was exceptional.
Leland is a great, nice person ... I love him ! his humour, his technique... He playes with so many great musicians ! I will hear the Ronstadt's album soon!👍
Vega played on the hit Chicago 17 single You're the Inspiration, though uncredited. 😅
Love this song! Carlos was amazing!
Carlos. Great touch!
I remember hanging with Carlos checking out Jeff porcaro at the baked potato in LA
Always sad when I go in LA and see The baked Potato... That was "the " place where Carlos and Jeff played so many times
@@STEPHANEBOUICHET I sat behind Jeff every time he played from 81 to 92 he was my favorite
@@jeffcrocker1078 Lucky man!!
Larry Williams is my spirit animal
