    would hanging them alternated. 1st front wheel, 2nd back wheel, 3rd front wheel etc. so the handle bars don't touch. i think doing it this way then they can be on the same wall. the shed is looking amazing

      @@jester6578 If the brakes are properly bled, it doesn't matter how you store them. But if you do have a bubble in your fluid, hanging upside-down can let the bubble go to the caliper where it will be most noticeable.
      Most bike shops I've seen store bikes alternating up/down/up/down because they do indeed take less space that way.

    I’ve stored about 9 bikes in an 10 ft area. Although mine were BMX races bikes from minis to cruisers and a couple mt bikes but if you hang them (I used regular hooks) with one up, one down, one up etc, you can hang a lot together and they’re all fairly easy to get down. The only downside is they’re all perpendicular to the wall and stick into the space more

    To save space for 2 bikes in my tiny shed, I remove the front wheels on both. With the bar at 90°, the bike is really narrow. I got the idea watching Doddy from GMBN, he does that in his bike cave. Putting the wheel on/off only takes a few seconds once you get the hang of it.

    I don't know if it would have helped you any, but my dad has his bike hooks offest so one is slightly higher then the other. It lets you fit the bikes closer together without the bars hitting into each other.

    If you choose to use regular bike hooks in a spot, I can tell you for sure that they do NOT need to be 3 feet apart. If you alternate hanging rear wheel and front wheel, then it give you ample space to get bikes out. Although I think your velo hooks look awesome, and I may just have to get some myself. I just bought these hooks and they are driving me mad! I can't even fit my gravel bike wheels without purchasing the 'long hooks' which are $10 a piece. After examining the construction, I think I can easily hack together a solution with a few scraps of plywood, a door hinge, and a standard $10 bike hook...

    • @sydandmacky
      @sydandmacky  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have super deep rims on your gravel bike? Because we can easily fit 2.35" tires with the normal hooks and that's a lot bigger than any gravel tires...

    • @jimjeffers5633
      @jimjeffers5633 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sydandmacky I have some 32mm deep rims with 38mm gravel king SKs on one bike. One road bike has 48mm deep rims so that one was out of the question. The only wheel I could fit on the small hook was a 28mm tire on a 20mm rim. I don't know why they even offer the small hook let alone make it the default. Oh well. Glad it worked for you.

    It's so fun watching you guys work through this process together! Can't wait to see you back racing and doing what you really love. After watching the dilemma with your bike storage I wanted to offer a suggestion. I built an easy 180 degree swinging bike wall mount for extra bikes. If you stagger the heights you can store a lot of bikes in a small space. Until now, I've never posted a link of one of my videos in another TH-camr's comments as it can appear disingenuous, but it might help. th-cam.com/video/xkZPYPsrvkQ/w-d-xo.html These types of racks aren't cheap and buying 12 can be $$$. If this offends you in any way, just delete my comment and I'll understand. Again, thanks for the awesome content 😀
