Here's the Park Tools Kit seen in the video: bit.ly/Park-Tool-Mega-Kit
The VelociRAX is interesting to me - I'm getting a bit sick of the headtube & fork crown wear I get on my bikes with my North Shore Rack, but I'm a bit worried about hanging my bike by the fork that far out. It looks like it'd put quite a bit of up & down force through the fork and headset, especially when going over bumps. Have you talked to the guys at VelociRAX about that?
I'm 64 inside the bike industry, been there done that... But I have to say WOW! Lots of innovative details that really everyday functioning that work. Good job! Dan
Thanks Dan! Much appreciated. One year later and it's still all working like a charm.
Now you just need to get yourself a Milwaukee sponsorship so you can say goodbye to your sad Ikea drill. : )
I created the same sort of pulley system but on a slightly larger scale and now send my bikes up into the rafters to fill that un-used space. So now, if any cretin driving by my house looks into my garage, they see nothing worth stealing.
Also, that light has been the best addition. So easy.
I hooked up an old stereo receiver, mini ipad and some wall mountable/swivel adjustable speakers, installed at standing height level. Now streaming tunes and catching local radio while I’m wrenching on bikes.
One of the BEST things about the garage are the Sprockids and Trailblazers number plates on the wall in the shelving unit. Great programs for kids!
Doing an epoxy coating on the floor helps tremendously to brighten the space as well 👍🏼. Helps bounce light back upward too
Good tip!
I have the same LED garage lights. HUGE improvement over the typical light bulb set-up (more light, broader coverage, and energy efficient). They’ve been going strong for 10 months.
Who would’ve thought you both have some serious talent with interior decorating?!? Your garage looks like it belongs in a magazine. Kudos to both you, incredible transformation.
Shoe dry rack, Towel hangers and the pulleys for hanging stuff. I’m gonna do that. Great ideas.
Shoe rack and fan is the best idea!!
Put another bar underneath to support heels, so u can put shoes other way up, so water drains out, and doesn't just run into the toes!
Looks good! I have a big 30x30 garage that I use for working out, wood working and bike storage/repair... multi use! I just laid 1/4" rubber flooring in the whole garage and will be partitioning part of the garage to separate my wood working area from my bike station. I've enjoyed watching some of these garage builds/updates as it's helping me know what I want in mine.
That's it...I'm making a garage clean up vid to get the hookup on that killer Park Tools set!! Over here Park Tools! I will proudly display your sign on my freshly painted black walls...I can add some blue stripes. My floor is painted too...that PRS 3.2 would look great on it.
Out of all of this I got really excited about the ceiling lights 😂
Better lights always make a huge difference. Not only in the garage.
Awesome! Thanks for the ideas. More of this content is awesome!
buying lots of expensive gear and using it according to its design does not a "genius hack" make, in my opinion. you did do a great job there, and the ideas for the paint, the rags, and the hanging/lifting rack are definitely clever.
Super sweet video bro! Gave some great ideas for my little bike shop here in maui. Love that it was a team effort. You and your fam are awesome!
Just moved into my first house and needed all these ideas for my garage :)
Thank you!
Thanks for the good ideas! Makes me smile that you guys did this as a family and obviously ride as a family.
This is one of the most creative Bike cave/garage builds. I love the chandler of clamps to hold bike gear that you can hoist up with the rope.
So where do you put the other items that belong in the garage? Lawn mowers, kids scooters, shovels, rakes,, lawn chairs, kid toys, tools for working on your car, tools for working on your house.. haha. But great bike space!
Thanks for sharing! Thinking about doing something where I could have a nice work place, but can also be used to put the car in. There are bunch of nice trick I will use for sure!
There is a good PVC pipe rack for the shoes that includes a thing to attach a hairdryer to dry the shoes.. pretty nifty. would work on your gloves too.
One and only Hack i need: A Garage.
Your build was sweet but I prefer my bike workstation open and ready to go. So just enough room to step around the bike. However, I do need a storage setup. I usually carry all my gear in a box in the truck so I don't forget anything. You did help.
Thanks for the cool ideas. I’m working on my garage right now and your video offers some great suggestions!
Glad to help!
I’m jealous of people with one hobby.
We painted the ceiling of our garage/workshop with the whitest high gloss paint we could find and it brightened up the area. When we repaint the shop I am going to use the same paint as it not only increases the light in the area it makes wiping down easier.
Really cool ideas. But check out French Cleats sometime and your wall storage will go to NEXT LEVEL.
Nicely done and well narrated.
a towel rack used for towels. Wow mind blown.
Number one rule for having an organized garage... the floor is not a shelf.
Nice hacks and topped off with a super smooth panning final shot...
This looks mega! Love it
Love the video and ideas. Thank you for sharing 👌
Love the matte Leroy wall
NICE!. now all I have to do is get my wife and 2 kits interested in exercisign and riding bikes, lol.
Awesome and so inspiring! We are swimming in Bmx bikes and gear, cool to get ideas
The shoe rack! Brilliant…a job for the weekend in my van :)
Awesome and proud for you and family. So helpful
cool idea re Velocirax wallmount but you must have more bikes than that. For the true n+1 (or s-1) setup, the infinite expandability of the Rubbermaid Fastrack rail system is hard to beat. put up two rails about a foot apart on your wall (to stagger bikes) and they can be 4’-to-infinity long and since the snap-on hooks are moveable, you can achieve maximum density for the types of bikes you have (tandems included). and of course, they have attachments for all sorts of other typical garage stuff like rakes and shovels.
For lighting, your solution is of course much better than before but better still are the flat-panel LED fixtures (cheap from Home Depot) that are usually hardwired in place but put out far more light and can be added ad-infinitum with a little electrician time.
last is a +1 for a white epoxy floor. heated, ideally 😅
good stuff! helpful for sure.
Oh I love the glove tip!
It is cool to have such garage
Or use the closures on each to hold them to one another and then drape over towel rack above shoe rack
8:07 is that a pictures of a Volvo 1800ES that I glimpsed?
where do the golf clubs, fishing, and hunting gear go.....? I wish my garage was that organized. Nice work!
Lot's of great ideas in this video. I love that last shot too!
Good content and great review! Keep up the good work!
Were did you get the zipp t shirt? its nice
How about posting links for towel rack, multi-directional led lights and other stuff?
Love the park tool and the pulley hack. And what I use is the ends of pop bottle. Slice the top it keeps the wires nice
Good luck keeping it tidy. My kids ruin my organised bike cave daily!
I've tripped over scooters a few times already...
My dad built a shed in the backyard and never let me or my dog come in until i was 14
@@mickaelht598 He was right! :) I have been thinking about locking the garage up for real!
kids ruin everything
Make a kid rack on a pulley system.
Sorted.
ehm? just WOW! Amazing video. So calm and relaxing to see all this stuff getting sorted out in your garage.
Glad you enjoyed it!
perfect timing for this video... I am just starting to setup my garage for bike storage and repair. Will definitely use some of these tips.
Love your channel!
Super cool, functional and helpful to see it implemented so specifically. Plus, your production value is right up there with the filming . This was way cool.
Great tips and clever hacks!
Thanks Dan!
Brilliant ideas!
What'd you use the wooden dowels on the black wall for?
Good tips like your lay out wicked set up
Awesome and inspiring video. Heading out to sort my garage now...
would u prefer MRP suspension over fox or rockshox
So cool!
some good hacks but I definitely prefer a solid work bench with the tools ready over a all that foldable, movable stuff and tools in a suitcase. You'll get sick of setting up everything each time pretty quickly. Unless you're only working on your bike twice a year...
What do you use the dowels for on the black wall?
very nice, love all of your ideas! thanks for passing them on!
Nice ideas
This is the dream bro. Nice
love the ceiling lampes, man I want that!
very impressive ideas
Painting the red/brown brick of my shed and garage with white paint made a huge difference to being able to see anything!
I love the pad airing rack. Gonna put that on the list :-)
That panoramic (traveling?) plan at the end was the bomb!!
Thanks guys that was really cool
This is fantastic. I'm always in the market for new garage storage/organisation ideas. There are too many people and too many hobbies to share the space that I currently have.
Nice job guys! Just painted my garage so ready to use some of your hacks and get it dialed.
what happened to the backyard series??
Good job !
That Park Took Kit is worth more than my actual bike
all starts with SPACE
I gave you a thumbs-up, for several interesting ideas in this video, outweighing the ugly attempt at knot-tying seen at 7:35. May I suggest re-tying that as a bowline or a figure eight follow through knot?
some ideas for my bike room.
Your vids are popping up on my recommended list and now after watching three of them I have subscribed! Keep up the good work :)
some great tips in there, gonna steal your glove clip hack for all my motorcycle gloves.
Really liked this garage setup. Hope to have something similar one day.
Great ideas for storage and keeping riding gear dry. Great video!
Let's be honest for a moment: neither the black wall nor the peck board are for actually storing stuff. They're backgrounds with sponsored stuff on them to shoot videos in front of :-D
Let’s just call them multipurpose 😂
Super dope! Videos are next level
Awesome job on the garage! Very nice! 🙂
Great video
do you have any living room or bedroom hacks for storing bikes?
Epoxy floors! Makes it much easier to clean if oil (or anything really) spills. Looks awesome as well. Great video though, I appreciated the production value. new sub here.
I have never been more envious of someone. Damn it looks good.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing it :)
I like that towel rack for paper towels and the microfiber cloths where did you get it??
Man! Awsome ideas and splendid execution!
Great job Ryan and fam!!.... yet again another inspiring vid... out to the garage I go
Wait, don't cars go into the garage? Kidding, of course. This is the way to re-think use of space for the family's passion to ride. Well done.
@TheLoamRanger what’s the color code for the block wall near your maintenance area?
Thanks for the hacks. I might incorporate some or variations of in my (slow) garage reno
"Loam Ranger" Since English is not my first language I had to look it up - brilliant name. So I sub for that reason .
I live in Florida so my garage is north of 100f year round with 80+% humidity. I have to dry my stuff inside the house because it just will not dry in the garage. I’m jealous.
i live in Leesburg FL and you can still dry your stuff in the garage just put a fan facing what needs to be dry.
good luck!
I clicked on this video with the assumption that it would not be a giant ad for bike rack and tool companies. Boy I was wrong.
