What would you like to see Blake build next? Let us know in the comments! 👇
A jump line
looks to professional... next time we need a feature with Sam Pilgrim 😅
i dont know, the bike build went really well for a first one without a jigg...how about learning to weld and get a jigg? how much gooderer can it be then the krabb?
Homemade air bag, not that it's possible but I'd enjoy watching someone try 😂
Make a wooden kicker with basic tools
That wheel skewers will have someone’s eye out. Maybe make some caps to fit on the ends?
Those spindles are gonna cause injury!?
It's a mountain bike chokie
Yes about time we had a blakes build, feels like ages ago since you kitted your van out. Mtb meets groundforce. Love your projects young man, thanks for cheering us all up Blake 👌
LOVE groundforce. Stoiked you enjoyed it
Blake's Builds are my absolute favourite bit of GMBN content 😂 as much as I love the tips and tech, Blake dropping a slab on his fridge and going back for that extra biscuit, as well as the questionable maths is something I can truly relate to 😂😂
How can I not watch Blake build and not smile?
Nice work! Pro tip - fix the corrugated roofing on the top of the corrugation (into a timber plant underneath), rather than through the trough where all the water runs: will keep those bikes much dryer!
I really hate that coroline stuff, it bows when it gets hot (cardboard impregnated with tar) and then falls to pieces unless it’s installed flat on moisture board. It’s been a disaster on my car port roof! And yes to the fixings on the high point of the corrugation.
Nice storage Blake! Please add something to the wheel holders ends, they are not safe as they are now and also wheels probably can slide off of them if you will open the shed doors to fast)
I'd reckon you should have put checker plate on the door would make it more secure, nice shed🇦🇺
Yes I'm working on making it way more secure. More is better
Excellent job. Very impressed. Put a tread on the end of the spindles that hold the front wheels then put a threaded knob on the end. Stops having a pointy bar of metal sticking out to poke u in the eye, or your kids. Also would act like a lock to stop the wheels falling off
@@R-Dub-Ya too easy. We all know how blake loves to build. Tapping a thread onto a bar, or welding something is more like it
Thanks a bloody great Idea. I'll do that
Yeah, you need to do this, it looks lethal at the moment. Great build otherwise. I'm impressed you can weld, that is a skill I've always wanted to learn.
That corraline/bitumen roof is best placed on sheet materials...it sags in time!
it HAS to be on a structural base, it's not self supporting and will sag within 12 months
For hanging the front wheels you could make a hanger out of a piece of old handlebar and hang the wheels by the rims. You could put hand grips on to protect the rims to stop any impalement on the ends. Adds a bit of bike personalisation too. 😃 Awesome series dude.
Well done,Blake! Looking forward to the wash station.
Thanks dude
I remember running into Martin and Blake in Bath. I had asked Blake when's the next BB😎🤘and here we are!!! How exciting
Nice work man I’m a fabricator and tig welder here in up state New York about a hour south of Canada I love watching people around the world build and make stuff nice work I like how you kept your mistakes in love what gmbn does keep up the good work.
Blake is the self build bandit robbing the retailer for everyones enjoyment.
Cracking job. Well done mate 👌👍🤙
We have a local saying in SA; " 'n Boer maak 'n plan" Every time I watch Blake make stuff, he makes me proud to be from the southern tip of Africa! And, it's done just like we would... quick, simple but well. More of these videos please.
Your next build should be a reverse trike jump bike - Jus because it would be entertaining to see you jump it!
Nice one Blake - Definitely felt your pain as that slab took a chunk out of the fridge/Cabinet in your van.
So crap. It's all fixed now, thanks to @bearmetalbuilds
Add a basket/container for commonly use tools. Brake caliper inserts, air pump, shox pump, tyre lever, spare tubes, chain tool, bike cleaning equipments and diskbrakes cleaner.
Add light in the shed and add a working light incase you drop something small. (portable working light)
The wheel stand/holder on the doors can double as a quick workstand to do a quick adjustments. (use heat shrinks on the rebar to protect the wheel axle and frame)
Great ideas. Thanks dude
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Blake. Your enthusiasm and positivity are really infectious 👍🏻💪🏻
More Blake’s build! Blake’s build own channel
Or just a epic outdoor cabin!!!! Multi episode big build please 🙏
Keep up the amazing work and thank you
Thats timing! I've figured i should build a bike storage kinda thingy for my little ones. The 12" stroller and 14" early rider bike need a place to go. And there goes Blake showing me how to do it 😂 thanks Blake! ❤
100%
haha great timing eh. Good luck on the build
Make sure you anchor it to the foundation in some fashion like Blake didn't. (apparently)
Usually watch before i comment, but i just have to say that i straight up love Blakes approach and personality. I'm hooked within the first 20 seconds! Buying used stuff or finding bargains like ordinary people, making good use of a smaller footprint and not building stuff that requires a mansion and the income that you need for said mansion. Most importantly, you clearly can be happy without those things, the proof is in the pudding.
Thank you Blake for reminding me about these truths!!
More Blake's Builds! They're so good!
Math and carpentry are like bike skills… use it or lose it. If you only ride twice per year you lose it. You use math and carpentry skills once or twice per year it’s a grind! I’m with you Blake!
Blake Builds!!! Best mountain bike videos ever. Thanks Blake!
Aawwww cheers dude
This is fun. I'm only getting to this now because I've been building a canoe storage box all day.
Blake always builds the best stuff. 🤙⚒️
Love watching you build stuff!
Blake! My trick for numbers like that... Just take the second number "The 8" and ad those together first. Allowing you to skip trying to do the thing where you are like "38 plus 30 plus 8" or whatever way your head does it. Anyway its less jumbled, You go 30+30 = 60. 8+8=16 so 60+16 is 76. "Or even 60+10 is 70 +6 is 76" I know it sounds more complicated but it really is a lot easier :D 😁
Looks nice, some extra ideas for you:
1. Offset the heights OR turn the brackets by a few degrees so the bars dont clash and saves turning stems.
2. Make it a bike dryer, wet bikes in it after washing isn't ideal so add a waterproof floor (maybe with a small drain hole) and then add some door seals and you can wire in a small electric heater to put on for an hour or so after washing bikes, especially in the winter when they never dry outside and just get rusty.
Instead of an electric heater, a dehumidifier would both provide heat and get the moisture out of the air.
Viva Blake builds!!! Where have you been in my life this year!!...
Missed you!! Great to watch you in action again!! Brilliant shed , The only thing that scares me is those bits of Rebar that you hang the wheels on.. They look like spikes in Indiana Jones temples designed to impale you or take out an eye if the doors blow shut or you or the kids walk/turn into them
hahahaha I'm addressing those for sure. A few great ideas in the comments. Thanks for the concern dude. Cheers
Blake awesome to watch as always, you sure know how to build some really usefull things mountain bike related.
FINALLY BLAKE BUILDS ARE THE BEST! This helps a bit copyng with the fact that Doddy left the GMBN crew. Make more of these!
Need to see some van life adventures with Blake!
Use coach bolts on the hinges and locks, it's easy for thieves to pull the cladding and unscrew the hinges to get the bikes. I'm speaking from experience
absolutely love it. Amazing how the right tools make the job much easier. Gonna have to invest in more tools. Can never have too many 😂😍
Awesome and great video guys, I so enjoyed every minute, I wish to do such a track some day
Great job Blake. Love little projects.
Thanks Mitch
Excellent build, looks good. I've done a similar thing but in steel, really high security. Had some low life's decide they wanted my bikes, so I made sure they weren't getting them again.
Blake got a next youtube channel. Who else think he has with that work.❤
Blake builds is the best thing on this channel !!!
I love the Blake builds stuff. 🙂
I was busy typing and then you finished with my suggestion - add guttering with a downpipe to a water butt and with the Worx Hydrashot you will never need to use a tap!
I would also build a stand on the outside to hold your bike when you are washing it (and a drainaway for all the crud).
Only other thing is running power so you can see what you are doing on those early morning raids.
And use a small block of wood with three holes drilled in it for the allen keys... that way you can see if they are all there (and they won't fall out as easy)
Great work Blake!
I built a 16 ft x 20 ft bike shed in 2020 for storage and maintenance, but now we have 11 bikes, including a 10 ft tandem recumbent trike. Might need to rehab the adjacent garden shed into bike storage only and this was great inspiration!
Just built a clubhouse for my furry buddy and his friends they come over to visit. Have to say there is something very satisfying about creating something with your hands
Blake doing his best Spicoli. That math was stressing me out!
Bud love the bike locker room. I would suggest sealing the roof gaps because of moister and you didn't wrap the roof wood. Also think about putting the shed on some bricks so it's off the slabbing.
Blake does math like Sam Pilgrim does bike maintenance :) Got it done in the end.
😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Welding is spot on after building your own bike. Nice work mate. My lazy ass would have just
Bought a shed and saved a trip to the ER.
For those allen wrenches, you could get a flat magnet and throw that up on the door as well. Great build!
Impressive. Good effort. I need exactly the same thing for my garden
That is a great project! Nice work!
Mate you worked like an animal wtf. Tidy job. I particularly liked the bit when you were so delirious with fatigue you nearly told us where you are going to keep the keys 😅
SO SO tired dude. I was going to say where the keys were kept HAHAHAHAHA
nice job buddy, this is also the thing that worries me is people can see what you have in there and i hope you have a good security system. where i am in Canada thieves are actually breaking into peoples home specifically to target the bikes.
That is awesome job and much more spacious than expected, good job👏👏. Regarding the lock, I would make a lock on the inside of the doors with a small whole to put the hand thru to lock it and unlock it, my dad had an old garage like that, this way it's going to be imposible to cut the lock since you can't acces it only with one hand, it in case of a burglary.
Amazing! Love It!
Nice one blake, love watching builds - I would put something safer on the ends of those front wheel axle holders; the lower ones look like they're at eyeball height of your kids!!
Yes, I 've address those crazy metal points. Thanks for the heads up tho. Much appreciated
Protect Your Eyes From Spikes!
Nicely done Blake. You can definitely give yourself a pat on the back with that one.
Absolutely amazing Blake. FairPlay bruh🤙🏻🤙🏻
cheers ma boet
@@BlakeSamson8 no worries bruh 🤙🏻🤙🏻
More Blake builds!!!
So very greatly great!
I just started this project since we're going into winter. More bike cave type videos!
ON it! The garage needs a face lift now with all that space
Awesome build Blake 🤘
More Blake Builds love it.
Now I want to build a bike storage shed 😂 l don't actually need one as I have a small Bike Cave 👊
Fantastic work. 😊
Nicely done sir. To get more light into the shed, you may want to either put in a window or in the future, if you replace the shed top - use a transparent corrugated sheet. Keep bike cleaning materials out there as well if space allows
Nice job, I like the F wheels on the doors 👍🏼
Well done Blake 👏🏻
It looks great and a good idea to have a relatively small shed for 8 bikes. I'm thinking you'll need light in the shed, so a couple of good LED lights would be great. Of course, you'll need to run cables from the house - under the slabs, of course 🙂
You gotta put some plastic ends on those front wheel spikes!
I just love the Blake Builds series. It's my favoritte part of the channel tbh.
Your the man Blake! One day we'll ride!
Blake is the G.O.A.T!!
Great build!
Good job ,but I'd upgrade the locks to sold secure rated stuff .I own the locksmiths next to TAV cycles in Ryde .It can make a huge difference on any future insurance claim .
Good job Blake!!!!
Can wait to see his garden in 5 years 1 huge shed 🤣👌
hahahahaha I'm planning a big build soon
I love that during the intro you said cut and measure in that order. Lol, we’re the same!
Yes! Love the Blake builds series! So good :)
Blake is a legend
looks awesome Blake, maybe some solar powered led lights inside too would be handy for those early morning rides :-)
Great minds think alike. I'm on it. Cheers
Great job Blake, just a thought on the front wheels, instead of some threaded bar, could you have welded 2 thru axles together and then wound them into some thread on the door? Abit of extra security and a little bit safer than threaded bar sticking out 🤣🤣 great work though, good watch and very funny, looks like you had a great time on this 🤙🏻
Great vid👏
With the wheel brackets, put some hose pipe or similar on there to stop wheels getting scratched and take up play.
Need to fill in the gaps where the roof corrugation sits on the shed frame... Or wind will blow rain in and onto the unprotected osb ceiling.
Tbh, you should have put the corrugated roof on last, after putting waterproof membrane down.
Recon you should fill the wall voids with insulation too.
I bought these foam inserts to go under the roof corrugation. Didn't make the edit I guess. Thanks for the heads up dude
Well done man! Didnt know u were so handy.
JUST VEEERY NICE!!!!!! Advise: Put a security camera or security motion detection alarm with a sounder on the doors ;) cheers and come to Bulgaria to ride some year we have nice bike parks.
Looks awesome man
Thanks
I have waited soooo long for this video😂
An inside light so when your late getting back home to put them away, will make it easy in the dark to put them away safely 💡
This is what it whould look like if made Mountainbike skills videos.....and thats why You people do that, instead of me.......But anyway...what you do is awesome, best bike channel...🙂
Nice vid. Gonna go out and buy some worx gear now.
Would be a random combination but would love to see Blake builds along with Colin Furze in the same video. Feel like the energy both of them would be something magical
I'd make the shed taller so removing front wheel won't be necessary. But important is that you like your shed. Nice job.
nice work...great
11:33 screwing in the valley will likely cause the roof to leak in time. Put the roof fixing in the high point of the corrugations. Once the rubber goes brittle/ cracks the roof is at risk.
I’d say add something to the end of the wheel skewers to stop the wheels sliding off if you shut the door to hard
nicely done sir, for security please add some coach bolts on those door hinges and hasp/staple, a ground anchor would have been a great addition when you were doing the slabs and lets not mention that you put the roof fixing nails in the valley instead of the top of the profile. I love your build episodes especially with the budget, great inspiration and advise for the viewers.
also cover both hands when welding else your absorbing UV in your uncovered hand from the welding torch
That is sweet. Just like your other builds. I only have 2 bikes so a shed would be overkill for me. Lol
Still Awesome!
I'm the only one who would like to see Blake paint a bike with that cordless spray gun?
I should have been there with Blake to be his human calculator...LOL
