Excellent video. Owning a Jeep is hard to explain. They are loud, don’t get great gas mileage, sometimes don’t fit in the garage after you go a little too big on the lift and tire choice. It’s why there is the saying, “It’s a Jeep thing you wouldn’t understand.” They certainly aren’t for everyone to be sure. My wife and I have loved all of ours and currently have a 2019 JLUR. It’s been fantastic. We take it off road as much as possible. We take the doors off, the top off, modify it whenever we get the chance, and wave at every single one of them on or off road we see. The culture is extraordinary. Just check out Jeeps for Georgie and you will see what I mean. Everyone have an awesome day!

I’ve had about 30 vehicles and the JL wrangler 2.0 I have had for 2 years now is in the top 5 all time favourites. Probably top new vehicle I’ve had. It’s a ton of fun. It’s a toy and personal transportation. It replaced a new Tacoma I had before it. It’s been more reliable that the Tacoma and the Jeep engine and transmission are way more enjoyable.

You mentioned that Ford and Chrysler took over the building Jeeps from Bantam, it was actually Willy’s and Ford.
You indicated Jeep may or may not have helped win the war, but according to Allied supreme commander General Dwight Eisenhower, it played a major role.
You said the modern Jeep is nothing like it’s predecessor, but it still has solid axles, round headlight, a slotted grill, removable doors and roof, fold down windshield, body on frame, spare tire body mount, and of course the iconic slotted grill, to name a few. I’ve ridden in and driven a 41 Willy’s and other than it being much smaller, the nexus to my modern Jeeps was very clear.
Also, Jeep is not carrying on a “myth” that it is extremely capable. I’ve been driving them since my first one in 97 and I’m always amazed at how hard you can beat on these things off-road and how far they will take you. I’ve flipped my on it’s side, flipped it back over, finished the trail and went to work on Monday. How many other daily drivers can you do that with?
Finally, why do so may people love the Jeep so passionately? Well perhaps it’s because your driving a vehicle that is clearly the descendant of an heroic icon and instantly recognizable by almost everyone around the world. Maybe you love summer and enjoy taking the top and doors off, nothing like driving with no doors. Undoubtedly as seen by the huge numbers that attend Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep Jamborees, and other Jeep events, many people love Jeep for its amazing off-road capability and it’s great community. Anyways, i guess if you don’t own and love one, then like the saying goes, “Its a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.” 😁

My dad introduced me to Jeep in 1971 when he bought a new CJ5 from AMC-Rambler. My dad had a BP Service Station back then. He used the CJ5 like a farm implement moving snow and pushing dead vehicles into the shop and such. Now 50 years on we still own Jeeps. We have had 13 different Jeeps in our family over the years. I currently have a WK2 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a TJ Rubicon.
Funny there are a lot of haters to the brand. Guarantee most of these people never owned a Wrangler. Just spew the bull they here from others! It is all in how you take care of what you own and regular maintenance and that's on every brand. It really is a Jeep thing and most will never understand! From a Canuck keep those great vids coming Truck King really enjoy your channel.

My wife and I each own a Wrangler. Me, a 2017 2 door, her a 2020 JLUR, her second Wrangler. For us we love them not only for going on wheeling trips and seeing things many people don't, but the community that is the Jeep family. We have met the best people through our different Jeep clubs and groups. Not to mention the ability to truly make it your own. Kinda like Legos for adults. And there's nothing like wheeling with the top and doors off. Great job on the channel, love your guy's content!!

Great video... I just bought my 2nd Wrangler, this one with a diesel engine. Love the car and, living in Colorado, it goes up mountain roads without even a hesitation. I was first introduced to driving a Jeep in the Army in Vietnam. There was no place we couldn't go in that car. My first one was a JK Sahara "Freedom" model and probably will own one from now on. Whether camping, off-roading, or going fly-fishing, it gets me in places that no other vehicle will. Love my Jeep Wrangler.

  • @wrangler07td

I grew up around Jeeps. I had an 85 CJ, two 97 TJ’s, an 07 and 16 JK and JKU, and now have a 21 JLU. For me, even with all the technology there’s something about the simplicity of Wrangler. Even when a new generation is launched you know what you’re getting, you know what it can do, and Jeep really does take the feed back of Jeep owners seriously. They take the feedback, and apply it to approve upon the existing Wrangler model. I’ve had trucks, sports cars, anD SUVs between. My jeep ownership, and always find myself back in Wrangler. There’s something about the heritage that translates to the freedom and independence that comes with wrangler ownership.

JL came out in 2018 not 2019 and although bantam prototype was selected it was willys overlander that got the govt contract, bantam was rewarded for their efforts with other contracts but willys (pronounced Willis) built the majority of the military jeeps with Ford coming in 2nd. Willys sold to kriaser and the willys name stayed but they dropped overlander from the name. History, and not being another cookie cutter design along with capabilities and ease of customizing is why I love my jeep. Another great video!!

Consumer Reports just put Jeep as a brand in the bottom 5...... pfffftt is this 20 year old news? 4 Jeeps for in the last 8 years. Other than very little or minor issues or minor recalls or updates, all have been extremely reliable. Both my JKU and now my Gladiator have and were outstanding. I beat on my JK with 37’s, almost no issues other than my own deserved trail damage or mishaps. I think the junk Renegade and Compass bring the brand down a few notches. Cherokees had issues early on but seemed to have smoothed out. Anyways no regrets on my purchase(s).

Life is more complicated every year. Jeeps were always simple. They could be disassembled and put back together in minutes, even during a parade. You could fix them cheaply and easily. Their simplicity is largely an illusion now, but they still lag behind other cars in complexity. For the most part the components are more durable and modular compared to other cars. Its a convertible in the summer and has 4wd for the winter so it makes sense for almost anyone. If you dont overvalue comfort or gas milage they work for most people.

It’s very simple. Jeep is because of the willys the icon of off road. Kids but even grownups say Jeep to a other brand 4x4 also Jeep has those small thought to let it feel adventure and outdoorsy within combine history. There is a other brand what some even more like “Landrover Defender”. And Toyota landcruiser also don’t forget the Mercedes Benz g wagon but the only one what with the adventure and expedition looks and is also a lot in movies like Jeep is A defender. I hope that they make the Jeep wrangler rubican and new willys a bit more willy like. So j hope the designers do a bit more better research

@FMF5517 mines not actually made by Maserati, it’s a Jeep. I was being sarcastic. Saying Ram trucks and Jeep Wranglers are Fiats is like comparing a Bugatti to a VW golf. Makes 0 sense. They are Same group of companies but that’s it. But maybe I will pretend my Jeep has an Alfa Romeo engine in it. That sounds pretty cool!

There is a great video on TFL TH-cam that answers this question. The conclusion: although not as flashy, get one with the Pentistar V6, and you're set. All engine options are good to great in terms of reliability, but the V6 has proven over the last 7-8 years to be one of the most reliable V6s on the market today. The rest of the hardware is way over designed for most people's usage, so no issues there.

I had a 2012 JK and put 87k miles on it before I sold it and It still had the original brakes and battery. The only problem that I ever had was a cracked thermostat housing and that was covered under warranty. My Wrangler was very reliable. I only sold it because I needed a bigger truck with more towing capacity.
