Elektron’s origins begin in 1998 with Swedish west-coast harbor town Gothenburg. The city’s rugged, industrial architecture contrasts with the stunning landscapes and nature preserves that surround it, cultivating a sort of uneasiness that positively challenges you to forge your own path through the paradoxically beautiful collision of natural and manmade terrains. This beats at the heart of Elektron’s ethos, operating at the intersection of producers, artists, and DJs, empowering them to craft a sound entirely their own. Their lauded drum machine has finally found a worthy successor: Digitakt II. Armed with detailed stereo sampling, expanded track counts, flexible MIDI integration, and Euclidean sequence generation, this barely scratches the surface of the long-awaited drum machine’s exciting percussive possibilities. What is the price tag?
I’m trying to understand component work flow. So could you have this piece and then maybe run it through effects pedals?
Hey there! Yes, you certainly could if you wanted to. You’d be able to just run that from the left and right analog outputs on the back of the sampler. With that said, most of the sounds and FX are going to be set already to how you’d like them (you’ll be able to control parameters within the sampler, as well). You’ll mainly want to just run those outputs straight to your speakers or PA system.

Does this have an arpeggiator?
Hi AboutHouseMusic, great question. While the Digitakt II doesn't have a default Arpeggiator, per-se, using its patterns and parameter locks creatively, you could easily create 'arpeggiator styled' grooves for days! That being said, using its MIDI connectivity, you could easily interface with a bass machine or other synth that has arpeggiator function built in and have the best of both worlds!
