I'd like to see them build the same car but they need to complete challenges to get their parts. Drag race: winner gets a choice of engine (2 different engines) engines have to be something they aren't used to working on. Drift battle: winner gets choice of transmission and diff (different trannys and diffs) Burn out: winner gets choice of power adder (250 shot nitrous, turbo, blower) loser picks something else Then 5k for other parts to complete build

I had a feeling they were just gonna slam it. The company supplies a notched valve cover specifically for the na miata so you can close it no problem. But they probably didn’t know that so just rocked the stock one
Hey guys - amazing job!! One idea for the fuel lines would be to drill a hole through the metal they are leaning on, grommet the hole, and then run the fuel lines up through the hole. That will keep it away from the headers and you won’t have to worry about vaporizing the fuel when those headers are glowing red!
Better yet would be to cut the steel lines around the trans area and start the hose there, cross them over to the correct side over the transmission. Just needs longer hoses and a bit of time and it'll be way safer.
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!!! Reroute that fuel line to another location far away from the exhaust. That's just asking for a fire. As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
I don't think you understand how airflow works in a Miata. The base of the windshield is a high pressure zone. Raising the rear of the hood effectively raises pressure behind the radiator which decreases flow. Hood vents are the proper solution to extract pressure and heat
@@herbdoobie8181 no need to be rude but this miata is going to be going all of 20 mph? sideways most of the time, so you could probably assume the fans are going to be the only source of air movement rather than the head wind making this style of ventilation more effective

Gotta love doing a swap. Starting one myself soon. GM 3800 supercharged into a 1982 Chevy Malibu Classic. 400 horse is the goal. Shold be a a pretty sweet 4 door sleeper. Love the K swap stuff too, the MR2 is my personal favorite and NSX is badass also. Honestly thought about k24 with a turbo in the malibu. Now that would be different.
Beautiful job you guys should deff pick up a set of some Password JDM hood risers. There fairly cheap and they do the job great for this exact problem. Plus the vibration/rattle of the hood pressed up against the valve cover hard that noise would drive me nuts lol.

Same thing I mentioned to cleetus lol.... Get a Venturi coolant filler, it pulls a vacuum in the coolant system. It will check for leaks while it gets all the air out of the coolant system. Trust me, it is way better than dodging hot air bubbles shooting out of the radiator. Also, awesome build 👍
Garza had gotten the short end of the stick when Cleetus gave Garza the Miata. I'm glad you guys finally setup the vehicle to match Garza's personality.
hey guys, just a suggestion, Toyota Hiace/van diffs are pretty strong, and probably fairly cheap, maybe get one of those while your waiting for Garza to shred the MX5/ Miata diff, not sure of the bolt patterns for the wheels though. Anyway, great little build to watch, and cheers from Australia :)
This is SWEET!!! Can't wait to see this thing ripping it up😎 Should put a cowl hood on it and wrap the cowl like a burrito lol. Then slap that beeeeautiful valve cover on.
Interesting to see how noticeable the engine vibration is because the oil pump swap deletes the balance shaft. The two K swaps I rode in during early August (a K24Z3 and a K24A2) both exhibited undesirable vibration. I am told rubber engine mounts help quell that issue, but Honda put a balance shaft in the engine for a purpose. Would appreciate your feedback.
This is sweet that you guys did this for Garza. And I know he's gonna be stoked. I wish you guys would throw something together for Wyatt to play around with and run at the track with you when you go. I know he has his truck he's building but it would be sweet if he had something to run down the track for now just until he gets his truck done plus it's more content for you. You guys make a great team and your builds are so much better / cleaner now that you guys teamed up. Just a thought..... Would love to see him having fun with you at the track.

@@PimpTwzt AN line is fairly tough especially with the heat shield. Its not going to get Red hot on an NA motor. The motor will vapor lock first.

Just put some hood risers on the rear of the hood to clear the valve cover and help get rid of some of the heat under the hood
i also agree with this, since this is a burnout machine i think no hood or raised hood would help quite a bit in cooling
