Luke...back away from the coffee...that being said, thank you for being the first to actually show the 900 in action... We're going to need a methodical, target test...pull-tab...pop top...gold, silver, platinum, stainless...etc...you get the idea...then off to a nice trashy park environ... How far away from the beach are you?? (Thank you again for this information packed video!)
Most welcome @Rocy Carroll the new 900 is an amazing machine and nice to be sharing and showing its new features! I can't wait to get out there and put it through its paces for future. Cheers heaps for watching mate👍⛏️
@Terry Wayne I haven't had the chance to play with the new Manticore just yet unfortunately mate. Only 5mins of holding and viewing, however the look alot more advanced and seem to be a fantastic machine👌 Hopefully we may be able to feature one in future videos and learn also! Best of luck and happy hunting out there👍⛏️

Gday Luke. Thanks for taking on a tour of the 900 and pointing out the differences between it and the 800. We had 4 come into the shop and in 15 minutes, 4 went out of the shop. Hope you are all well and recovered from the weekend. It was great. Take care mate 😁👍
Hi there @The Coffee Bush Kid you are most welcome mate, what a fantastic new machine from minelab for us to play with and learn! I'm definitely not surprised that 4 walked out the door in 15 mins either mate, I would say they are going to be just as popular as the previous 600/800 models. Cheers heaps again for watching Andrew, I look forward to sharing more on the 900 for future mate👍⛏️

Finally they fixed the damn coil ears issues!!! That was the reason I got rid of my 800 that a d the flooding of the housing about hemm!! 3 damn times. Did they fix the control box flooding issues?
Thanks for the video. Coming from someone who has minelabs back to the explorer series and just this summer bought a new 800 which I like I’m disappointed in a company like minelab that has been around for a long time they couldn’t get the handle right on the 800 or coil mount or the shaft. Think I’ll keep my 800. Thanks
I only want to know if they fix the flooding issues like the 800 and 600 that’s all, because I have a 600 that have no warranty, that got flooded. $650 waisted with a machine that a little 3 year old. They should mention that it really not 💯 waterproof.
Hey Luke, Great video again well done. Congrats to you with channel nine wanting to do an article about DID. You and family deserve it for your hard work. Its great to hear the success of the group hunt and that you have been swamped with emails and messages. You have created something special, us as subscribers are proud to be a part of your success. Say Hi to Xavier and give Dom a high five for me. Cheers Rob

Thanks so much for watching @Timijay this video should hopefully give lots out there a great insight into the changes made with the brand new Equinox 700/900. And I reckon your spot on there to mate! There was so many targets in the ground at this old school site😅...and plenty of those lower numbers showing up which are sure to be coins dropped. They will wait for another day though now😉 Cheers again mate, I look forward to catching you on the next adventure very soon👍⛏️
hi mate just wondering what sort of battery life would you get from it ,or do they have a battery you can replace while the other is charging just getting into this was going to get the 800 but after your great vid think ill go the 900 cheers steve
Hi there Steve, thanks so much mate, i'm really glad you enjoyed watching and found helpful. The 800 and 900 both have an approximate run time of 9 hours to, with the battery being built and sealed into the handle. They can be replaced if needed but not something you can charge and swap out for another unfortunately. The new 900 looks and feels amazing though and would definitely suggest looking into purchasing Best of luck Steve, I would love to hear how you go for future hunting mate👍⛏️
As you have both is there any chance you could do a video on seeing if the nox 800 controller will fit directly onto the nox 900 stem as im thinking of getting the stem to replace my 800 standard stem as im sure many others also are. Curiously I asked minelab support if indeed they were compatible and they couldn't give me a definitive answer any better than the spare parts would likely become available through the normal dealers within the first quarter of the new year. Not exactly helpful there eh but I'm sure you can do one better than them!
@Debbie Sharkey it's definitely a ring! I have found dozens of these little coloured junk rings detecting over the years. Still yet to find a vape reducer ring though🙂 Cheers for watching.
I use my 800 underwater everyday, I do snorkelling detecting and im always worried about a leakage on the 800 so with the new waterproofing protection on the 900 I think ill have to go for it, or the Excalibur 2, not sure which to go for!
Wow @Andrew Baines it sounds like the new 900 might be something well worth looking into for future hunting. I don't do beach/water hunting myself, however they look to be built alot thicker and more waterproof than the previous 800. I unfortunately can't comment on the Excalibur 2 sorry mate, it's a machine I havent yet run, so don't really know to much about to be honest. I can however say the new 900 rocks👌👌 Be sure to check out some of my recent videos and finds to see what it can do! Best of luck and happy hunting Andrew🙂⛏️
@@DigItDetecting Awesome, thanks very much for the advice, I had a look at the Excalibur 2 on youtube and it does not seem as good as the 900, it completely failed to pick up some targets that the 800/900 picked up on a comparison test. As you reckon the 900 rocks with your much advanced experience with detectors ive taken that advice on board and most likely will go for the 900, 99% decided. I'll be selling a few gold rings to buy it, nothing special about these ones as they are just wedding rings and i cant track down the owners. Thanks so much for the awesome videos, ill be checking out some more. Really look forward to my 900. Btw I had a huge scare with the 800 yesterday, thought there was a leakage, it went crazy when I got in the sea and wouldnt stop even with a reset, I have a feeling it was my mobile phone, also underwater that may have caused the issue, though I dont know how well mobile phone signals travel underwater, maybe a bit like sound/light. Checked my 800 over today seems all good now but as i live in a very remote location with no detector shops here I do really need to make sure I have a detector thats reliable and wont leak underwater, i know the 800 has had issues with this. Ill be travelling back to the UK this weekend to purchase my 900, oh and a new waterproof pinpointer as dropped mine on the beach and lost it yesterday to, gutted!! Ill be going for the same pinpointer again, it rocks to, the Nokta Pulse Dive!! I do need a deeper water capable detector in future once I complete my advanced diving courses so likely be going for a DEUS 2 for this in about 12 months. Have a wonderful day and thanks again!!
I love the 800, but for water hunting it's just not great. It's too hot leaving you digging tiny bits of foil in waist deep water. I use a CZ-21 waist to chest in the water and my equinox on everything else.
@@electronictreasure4191 Been using the 900 now for a couple months, the 800 did leak in the end and went for repairs, they gave me a brand new one and so i sold it and bought the 900. One thing about both of them...all of them ...they are *WATERPROOF* and they come with earphones yet we have to pay extra for *WATERPROOF* earphones.🙄😏 Apologies...just griping as I'm about to spend over 1500 dollars on the 900 and everything else I need to do this whole thing' right...as well as the waterproof headphones.🙄 Griping over (lol). Now for my question... What dates and types of gold coins did you find? Please do share as most people including myself are interested in that sort of information. Also...great video.😊😊
Hi there @Michael Stein the coins I found in this video are just Australian gold $1 coins. Very common to find when hunting old schools, parks etc. I will however be hunting down another gold sovereign this year with the brand new 900. Those are most definitely real gold coins and ring in at a solid 50 for a full sovereign and 36 or so for a half. Hopefully we can get lucky and snag one! Best of luck and happy hunting out there for future👍⛏️
@@DigItDetecting also...I just read December 5, 2022 some kid found a gold Australian coin valued at 750,000😊 and even the "Gold Sovereign is an over 620 AUD value find....if THAT is common to find (which I have no reason to not believe you of course) then your average...common days would be MUCH better than a great day here.🤣lol I hope you find a 750,000 dollar valued one next.☺️
Correct @Michael Stein that was the Nobleman Gold One Pound Coin found in Adelaide mate. Absolutely Amazing coin but the chances of finding something like that in the ground detecting here in Australia would be very rare I believe. Similar to the holey dollar or dump. One of Australia's first currency designs. I did however find a 1583 Hammered English Sixpence detecting an old farm site a couple of years ago, which is fascinating due to it pre-dating Australia's founding by some 200 hundred years! It does go to prove that you just never know what's out there to find👍
@@DigItDetectingYou are SO correct...Absolutely NEVER know what you'll find....Just a quick story you might enjoy....I coin roll hunt...get and search through boxes of coins from the bank, bank rolls from just about 3very store I go in that the manager will be nice enough to trade/sell me whatever they don't mind doing that with me, loose change etc., etc., etc. So approximately 9 months ago I drove from Florida to California for my work and about 2 months ago I get a bunch of boxes from the local BOA (Bank Of America). 2 of the boxes are 1 cent ( many here call them "pennies"). So I'm in my hotels room and after 4 days (and nights of looking at each and every penny with a magnifying glass (actually I use 2) and a microscope. I found *my* usual die breaks, die cracks, die chips, off center strikes, misaligned dies, RPMs, double dies, beautifully colored/toned, some in just great condition/high grade, etc. So I'm just about done and am 6 pennies from the end of the last roll from the 2nd box and (I kid you not) I find a 1909S VDB in extremely good condition. I had no idea how cool it was until I googled it. After I research it a bit and realize I just found a 1500 dollar penny I decide to share my find with some others. I'm not really into posting etc. but I choose to share what I find on this Facebook wheat cent lovers group and the best part (well ..one of the best parts☺️) is I got SO MANY heartwarming reaponses/replies such as "OMG!! WOW!!" CONGRATULATIONS!! GIFs of celebrities clapping, I'm 70 and been searching for THAT coin for 65 years, another for 60 years. One person posted that THAT is the GRAIL...the ONE coin you searched for since you were a child, AMAZING. some suggested NO...WAY that's real as it is SO special people counterfeit it A LOT. They posted pictures of what to look for that makes it counterfeit and/or real. (Like the center horizontal bar of the "B" in VDB...if it's straight across horizontally it's fake/counterfeit and if it's at an angle it's real and a few other very interesting facts. Well I of course checked and lo and behold it is the real deal.😊 Anyway..thank you for sharing your stories and information. I hope you enjoyed mine.☺️ Sincerely, Michael 😊
Thanks so much @Diggersden Tyson U.K.M.D I am really glad you enjoyed watching mate! Hopefully this video will give everybody a great insight into the latest 700&900 features🙌 Which I feel is a great step up from the previous models. Cheers again mate, catch you on the next👍⛏️

Morning Luke, I dont think anybody could ever say your a lazy bloke, have you stopped at all since last weekend, I somehow doubt it, nor the weeks before i'd wager!.. im far from the wisest person when it comes to learning and understanding the multiple settings on my detector, I learn a bit at a time, and have a long way to go, it doesn't help that I have colander for a brain!... For a first time user, If I was one, how would you rate the 900 with its learning curve, Say from easy to difficult! as with most detectors you can switch on and go, and still have a successful hunt, for me it seems the audio response is what I rely on the most, and the readings a secondary back up to my thoughts on what the target might be, Neither are accurate all the time! Do you think the 900 has improved on that side of detecting! As you know, some targets disguise them selves as coins, like the lump of lead you found, which as far as I know, no detector has mastery over as yet... Do you believe the Nox 900 is the leading contender within the nox family and other varieties of detectors in the same or similar value range, I know the 900 is relatively new to you and that you have to spend more time with it, to get a better understanding of its qualities, have fun with it, and keep on making excellent videos, Cheers mate!
Hi there @Wayne Armstrong I certainly do like to keep busy! Between our event last weekend, returning home to unpack, then going back to work Wednesday, plus kids, school concerts, swimming, archery....and 3 new videos shot, edited and uploaded...I'm not sure how I find the time myself some days😄 But as mentioned I love to keep busy mate. Actually in the middle of shooting a conclusion clip for next Fridays Premiere today to😂 I will really have to learn the brand new Equinox 900 alot more to say or confirm to much just yet to mate, however straight away the look, feel and new features are very impressive! Especially for when long days out swinging! I have also noticed alot better separation between individualising targets in the ground, just due to the broader 99 segments now featuring on the screen. Much better than 40!! I reckon I will be able to return to lots of old sites that once were "hunted out" per say. And have lots more success 🙌 One site comes to mind straight away which would make for a great test...is the old silver mine site. Where we found over 60 odd silvers hunting around the old football club rooms at the footy oval. th-cam.com/video/YSqV9O3aeEs/w-d-xo.html It was a magnificent site but cleaned out with the 800... I'm sure we could now find more with the new 900 though👌 We will work on that one in future videos. Cheers so much again Wayne, off to set up and shoot the rest of this conclusion now. It's a video I shot a few weeks ago running the old 800 to, however some fantastic finds at an incredible site...I'm sure you will love watching mate🤝⛏️

Thanks again @Andrew Robinson the report being done completely threw me for a six...but how amazing! I spent a good hour on the phone answering all sorts of Metal Detecting related questions. I can't wait to see, read and share the article very soon🙂
Cheers again mate👍
Can you tell me how long is the longest piece of the shaft is for packing in a carry on. Thanks.
Hi there @Rick R the longest shaft piece is the lower section that joins to coil. The shaft alone measures 55cm or approx 21inches👍
@@DigItDetecting Thanks that good. Carry on luggage is 22 inches maximum.
Awesome to hear @Rick R you should have no dramas packing it for travel by the sounds. Best of luck and enjoy mate👍⛏️
Great video mate, very much appreciated 👍
Most welcome @Colin Burns I'm really glad you enjoyed watching mate and happy to be sharing a side by side comparison of the 800 & 900 together. I am sure not everyone is ready to part with there 600 or 800 however nice to be showing the changes made and what is new!
There will be plenty of learning with the new numbers on the 900...but I'm sure we can work it out more for future videos👍
Cheers heaps again for watching, happy hunting out there⛏️
One thing about both of them...all of them ...they are *WATERPROOF* and they come with earphones yet we have to pay extra for *WATERPROOF* earphones.🙄😏
Apologies...just griping as I'm about to spend over 1500 dollars on the 900 and everything else I need to do this whole thing' right...as well as the waterproof headphones.🙄
Griping over (lol).
@@DigItDetecting "*Common* good coins"LOL...No such thing here in the US.🙄🤣lol
@@DigItDetecting also...I just read December 5, 2022 some kid found a gold Australian coin valued at 750,000😊 and even the "Gold Sovereign is an over 620 AUD value find....if THAT is common to find (which I have no reason to not believe you of course) then your average...common days would be MUCH better than a great day here.🤣lol
I hope you find a 750,000 dollar valued one next.☺️
Well I of course checked and lo and behold it is the real deal.😊
Anyway..thank you for sharing your stories and information.
I hope you enjoyed mine.☺️
Sincerely,
Michael 😊
Top job

Actually in the middle of shooting a conclusion clip for next Fridays Premiere today to😂
I will really have to learn the brand new Equinox 900 alot more to say or confirm to much just yet to mate, however straight away the look, feel and new features are very impressive! Especially for when long days out swinging!
I have also noticed alot better separation between individualising targets in the ground, just due to the broader 99 segments now featuring on the screen. Much better than 40!!
I reckon I will be able to return to lots of old sites that once were "hunted out" per say. And have lots more success 🙌
One site comes to mind straight away which would make for a great test...is the old silver mine site. Where we found over 60 odd silvers hunting around the old football club rooms at the footy oval.
th-cam.com/video/YSqV9O3aeEs/w-d-xo.html
It was a magnificent site but cleaned out with the 800...
@@DigItDetecting Sorry Luke, I meant to mention, that I realize its early days yet, and it will require more time to understand it's nuances, Always love watching your hunts Luke, I think Ill go have another look at that silver mine again, but ive got to mow some lawn first! And dont reply to this comment Mate! you have enough to do! Cheers and Hooray!
I got half way through the video and turned it off, you just keep on talking and talking and talking and... you go none stop about nothing.Stick with the subject or maybe you have forgotten by now.Just to remind you, you WERE TALKING ABOUT THE MINELAB 900 AND YOUR ON PLANET EARTH 🌎🌍.No I'm not going back to the video, you'll probably really drift off into balivia which is not on planet earth ! Try to have a good day mate.
I am sorry this video wasn't for you @craig bosko talk less, talk more...its hard to please everyone! I hope there is another comparison video you can better learn from out there in future🙂 Best of luck out there and happy hunting mate👍⛏️
H S
I suppose nobody noticed these holes were pre planted with coins.lol What a joke🙈🙈🙈
Thanks again for watching @Bigshow no planted coins here mate, we did enough of that at our event for members👍👍
Get real it was just a cheap ring or should I say get a life.
